" A senior GOP strategist added, "anything that makes people nervous about their personal safety helps Bush." He called it "a little gift," saying it helps the President but doesn't guarantee his reelection.
Can you believe these people? The only way they know how to govern the American people is through fear and terror and sheer desperation.
In my home state, South Carolina, someone has sent letters out (with no return addresses) to residents living in predominently black communities telling them that if they show up to the polls on Tuesday that they were be arrested if they have any outstanding warrants or even unpaid parking tickets. I've read that this is also going in other states as well.

Jesus Christ. :distress: Here, we've got the Secretary of State trying to disencfranchise voters in Boulder (extremely left for those of you not familiar) and a few other Dem strongholds.
So let me ask you, how did you feel when you saw Osama on the telly yesterday? Even though I/we all know that this was coming, I have to admit I was still shocked, sickened and saddened. I thought of the 9/11 families and hoped they didn't have to watch that ****. To me, it illustrates the miserable failure of George's presidency, despite the media's efforts to spin it otherwise. Donning my tinfoil LIHOP hat, i also had to wonder if he was on the Rove payroll. Before any of you start screeching that this is insane, I would like to point out that Walter Cronkite said the very same last night on Larry King. I hope we all get through this okay. Hope.

when I saw OBL was that it seemed rather convenient for his appearance to happen so close to the election...But at the same I worry that he may have signaled another attack to happen this week (All Saints Day is Monday, Election is Tuesday)
An interesting item I heard today (On NBC) is that he wants Bush to win the election so he can topple the "US regime by bringing the war to the Americans", Since Bush represents "the same type of corrupt governments currently in the Middle East".

ps-I have to ask my music buddy Koko about the BS in Boulder (He has a business in Boulder & lives nearby in Superior)

Honestly--it was quite chilling when I heard him say that it didn't matter who we elected-neither Bush nor Kerry could keep us safe. And it was maddening to see him making this threats against us and know that our president chose instead not to track down OBL and his crew, but focused instead on Saddam Hussein who had no link to 9/11.
I've seen press on the NAACP thing here in South Carolina so hopefully people will get the word out that this isn't true and that they have nothing to fear if they choose to vote on Tuesday. I read on the Democratic Underground that this was also going on in West Virginia. It's clearly an attempt to intimidate minority voters, who tend to vote for the Democratic candidate.

I wondered the same thing. Also, the "American Terrorist" guy in the other video looked like Rove with a tablecloth wrapped around his head.

They did the same thing in Florida in 2000 and I have one of the flyers. It even tells them to show up to vote on NOVEMBER 3rd.

Michael Moore is going to have 1200 camera crews in the swing states at minority polling places.

Here's the article on that:
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore plans to have hundreds of cameras outside polling places in Ohio and Florida on Election Day to watch for attempts to suppress voter turnout.
The director of the anti-Bush documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11" announced Saturday that a total of 1,200 professional and nonprofessional cameramen, filmmakers and videographers will bring their cameras to polling places in the two presidential battleground states, especially in minority communities.
"I'm putting those who intend to suppress the vote on notice: Voter intimidation and suppression will not be tolerated," Moore said in a statement.
Moore, who was in Columbus for a rally Saturday night, planned visits to Ohio and Florida on Tuesday, his publicist Terri Hardesty said.
Polls in both states indicate the race between President Bush and Sen. John Kerry is too close to call.
There have been voting problems already in Florida, where 537 votes tipped the state and the presidency to Bush in 2000. In Ohio, Democrats are fighting Republican attempts to challenge voter registrations.

More voter intimidation:
GOP demands IDs of 37,000 in city
Citing a new list of more than 37,000 questionable addresses, the state Republican Party demanded Saturday that Milwaukee city officials require identification from all of those voters Tuesday.
If the city doesn't, the party says it is prepared to have volunteers challenge each individual - including thousands who might be missing an apartment number on their registration - at the polls.
The move, which dramatically escalates the party's claims of bad addresses and potential fraud, was condemned by Democrats as a last-minute effort to suppress turnout in the city by creating long delays at the polls.

What about the 100,000+ innocent Iraqi civilians that have been killed as a result of this war -- half of them women and children? Were those deaths and the deaths of over 1,100 American soldiers worth the capture of Saddam Hussein?

You mean the Kurds who were killed after Poppy Bush pulled out of Iraq and told them to "rise up" against Saddam when they had little more than sticks and stones to do it with? Their blood is just as much on his hands as it is on Saddam's.

F*ck no. We went over there with little more than a plan to secure the oil ministry and make the principals of Halliburton and the Carlyle Group and General Electric (largest defense contractor in the US, who also happens to briong you your nightly news) very, very, very rich.
We didn't have plan to secure the infrastructure, repair the damage, secure the munitions dumps or the artifacts in the museums that are who knows how old.
Then, on Friday, Osama Bin Laden is on my god damn television. Can someone please tell me why President Big Balls hasn't captured this motherf*cker yet?

But I hate seeing Americans getting killed daily by possibly some of those who are now free (Most of those attacking us are "foreign insurgents", But I also feel some are Iraqis) because they hate us as much as they hated "So-damned Insane"
Iraq has turned into what was said in the movie "Full Metal Jacket" about the Vietnam War:

Yes, they love freedom and their liberation so much that they blow up US Soldiers with roadside bombs--8 this weekend alone if you were counting. And they're so happy to be rid of Saddam that they volunteer to be suicide bombers to attack our forces. And if you'd stop watching Fox long enough, you might discover that most Iraqis feel that their quality of life has gone done drastically since their "liberation". Many have no electricity, no water, no jobs, etc thanks to the destruction wrought by the bombs we dropped on them. We're too busy rebuilding the oil fields to worry about providing them with the basic neccessities of life.
