So I am, at the moment, painfully bored.

I've written my newscasts....and am now sitting here waiting for my air shift to start....with nothing better to do than well...this...

SO - just thought I"d open a thread about nothing in particular....

I'm start with an update of sorts.

IN another post I mentioned a guy who recently dumped my ass for a slutty more flirtatious girl...

Well - things didn't work out with them (she totally blew him off). He then e-mails me and says he made a mistake and wants to try things with me again...

Well as swept off my feet as I was by his romantic jesture  I just had to say no - dumb ass.

Seriously....I'm not going to be anyone's "safety" especially this guy....the NERVE!!!

Yeah - totally random...and haha...probably no one cares...but again, I'm bored and just thought I'd post...something new....anything....lol

ALSO - this damn election needs to be over already - it totally crossed the line when both Kerry and bush showed up in my dreams last night

I'll bite. Vent Fest 2004! Hi, Deanna!

I have a LOT to do at work right now, but no motivation to do it, since we're probably all getting fired awfully soon. Who wants to work their ass off at a job there's no guarantee of still having in a week? Graah! The guy I sit next to is in the middle of having a total **** fit about one of the women he works for. The woman is a total bitch, and got one of my friends fired last year on a whim- so it amuses me to no end that she's up to it again.

I'm nursing the end of a cold. I stayed home in bed on Wednesday, the first time I'd called in sick in months and months, and watched pretty much all of the Season 3 Alias DVDs. And now I'm back here, miserable as ever. I managed to smoke half a pack of cigarettes with a sore throat last night, though- I went out and stuck with a friend who's vowed to stop drinking. I pledged to not drink with him last night in solidarity, but sheesh- we just smoked like chimneys to stay away from the tasty booze. And I don't want to be here. But it's almost the weekend, and I have three fantabulous episodes of the Gilmore Girls cued up on my Tivo.

And it sounds like a good thing you kicked that dick to the curb!

Wow - that woman sounds like a bitch....and yeah - she sounds pretty manipulative....so it sucks though that she screws with people like that...people infuriate me.

Sorry about your cold...but at least you're at the end of the cold rather than the beginning? Smoking half a ciggie pack doesn't sound like a good way to get rid of the cold though ;)

And if you don't mind my asking - why do you all think you may be fired in a week...?

My boss sits right next to me so sometimes it's hard to surf the Ledge - which should probably tell me that I shouldn't be doing that at work...lol...but eh - no one's said anything....so I'm gonna keep doin' it ;)

I don't use the C-word very often, but this woman is the very epitome of it. Hate her. She just walked down here a few minutes ago, too, to bring up whatever issue it is up with the poor guy all over again.

And no, smoking isn't the smartest way to get rid of a cold. But it helped the pain of not drinking.

I work for one of the major record labels, we just merged (not hard to figure out which label) and everything's finally starting to click into place with the new company's structure. We've been waiting for the layoffs for awhile- they expect to layoff 1/4th of the merged company's employees. So. We're all waiting to get fired.

okay, i'll go.
I wish my boss could read above a third grade level. I wish he remembered things we were talking about 20 seconds before. I wish he didn't repeat the simplest directions, about things i have been doing for 1 1/2 years, ie, I wish he didn't think i was as dumb as he is.
I wish I hadn't had 3 cigarettes last night, as yesterday was my second day without a cigarette until those 3. So today is my first day again.
I wish I wasn't so temporarily bloated, so that my jeans that i'm wearing were a bit looser...
ok, that's good for now...

Go Deanna! I would have done the same thing. My ex dumped me for my best friend, treated her like crap, she broke up with him and that's the end of it, but I think he realized he lost something he maybe shouldn't have lost... And he's a cutie but he's changed. :( It's a shame.

Anyway, I'll bite. I woke up late and I had an instant breakfast before I ran out the door to the one class I have on Friday -- English. Our professor is crazy... he stumbles over his words a lot and he gets sidetracked in class, so we end up going over pointless stuff and then get off on some other tangent. And we haven't gotten our essays back from a month ago and we already have two more due. And I still haven't gotten around to eating something solid today.

And I'm hoping my mom wants to go out of town tomorrow because I just remembered that DR is on DVD now and I want it. And I want flannel sheets... I *love* flannel sheets! :)

I really need to go play piano. I keep saying I will and I keep putting it off. Just like I keep putting off working out. Did I mention I'm writing my next essay on how to procrastinate effectively?

Alright, that'll do.

What does your mom going out of town have to do with you getting flannel sheets? Just wondering :)

I hear ya on the putting off working out...I'm So bad about it - and I thought actually paying a lot of money for a gym membership would help...nope. Sure hasn't!!

We found a Bed Bath and Beyond in Lafayette and it's just down the road from Best Buy/Barnes and Noble... so I thought about DR and then I thought about flannel sheets that I saw when I was at BBnB last. Sorry for being so scatterbrained... lol! :)

A few years ago they built a healthplex on campus where I go to school but I haven't gone there yet even though we get membership as part of our enrollment -- I don't wanna go alone and look like a total lost doofus. And it would be so much more motivating if I actually lived on campus, but I'm a commuter for now. I'd like to get in the habit of bringing a change of clothes with me every day and then just going after class. I am so determined to lose weight before the next tour!!

My guess is this paper will be another last minute project, but hey, if you do something, do it well. Setting a goal is one thing -- how you get there doesn't matter as much as long as you get there. ;)

You won't look like a lost doofus...easiest to use are treadmills and bikes. Just bring music and get your bun in there.

 true - I so used to have that hang up - "I hate exercising in front of people" " I don't know what to do" etc...

BUT the cool thing is -if it' s a good fitness facility an employee, I think, HAS to help you at least to show you how to use the equipment...it's not hard..

and yeah - just to hop on a bike or treadmill...anyone can do that!

I got over my hang ups because my want to be healthy overcame that and I realized I was just making excuses...

Don't even care what people think of you at the gym...if you're there to work out then it doesn't matter what you look like - doofus or not ;)

I just might do that. I love my iPod! :D Lots of music to walk to. I think I might stick to the treadmills and bikes 'cause I have torn cartilage in one of my knees and anything weight-bearing or high impact hurts like all get out. But even a change of scenery on a treadmill would be great! :)

Count me in, girls.

Deanna, I know how that goes. You know what? SO not worth it. I'd rather have my dignity and remain true to myself than change my ways and become some total cutty hor for a guy who obviously isn't worth it if he doesn't like me "just as you are." Peace out to him, girl. You can do and deserve WAY better.

Ugh. Hayley, that blows. It sounds like we work with the same bitch. I hate my job. When I was hired, I was promised that i'd get a raise rather quickly. It'll be a year in February and nothing. I make the same salary as an 18 year old girl whose first job is this. Along with a few of my coworkers, I do my bosses job. After 90 days of working for the company I work for, you are supposed to get a review and with that review based on your performance, a raise. I've asked repeatedly for my review and then I finally take my boss outside while she's smoking a cigarette and tell her I can't keep this up for much longer. She tells me out of everyone there, she can't afford to loose me, clients like me and that she's not going to let it happen. Okay, it's been a month since that conversation. Have I gotten more money? Oh, that'd be a big nope. I'm about to lay the smack down in a big way this week. Either you pay me more or i'm out.

In other news, i'm applying to schools again for next year. With any luck my GardenStateGirlie handle will be coming from a girl that no longer resides in the Garden State by next year

It's the motion of running, but your feet are on ski like things that glide...like stairmaster, but with the full range of running motions...very easy, very fun..

My neighbor informed me this afternoon that while I was gone yesterday morning, two Republican hogs tried to take my Kerry sign and replace it with a Bush one. So I went out and stuck tacks in the sign just in case they tried to do it again. Then I put two more next to it. :p

Has Farty Pants" was broadcast during the 5th Season, Which will be the next Season to be released on DVD...

I did luck out tonight at BestBuy, They had the limited edition version of the just released 3 DVD Director's Cut of the movie "Hellboy" which includes a large sized limited edition "Hellboy" sculpture by Mike Mignola (The creator of "Hellboy") which was marked at an incorrect price tag of $24.99, So I asked the clerk to scan it and it showed up at the regular price of $42.99, But she said since it was marked at the $24.99 price that is the price they have to sell it for...So I bought that bad-boy!

First of all, i finally found my bra which was missing in my house for a week. It's my "good boob" bra, so that's pretty important.
Also, I wanna say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Hillary Clinton, and also a big HB to my ex boyfriend.
Thank you, that is all for today. or for 5 seconds or so, at least...

well, since my house is mostly made of cast off clothes and random papers, until i clean it up, it's quite easy to lose one tiny bra. but it was under only one other article of clothing, and on a shelf, so...It's probably the fact that i *kind of* put it away (it was on a shelf) that confused me. of course, i didn't *actually* put it away, that would've been in a drawer.
Wow, another guy likes you. that's great. was your last relationship bad? you should go for it. Which reminds me, if i don't *get* some (thing) soon, my brain may explode...  so, seriously, go for it...oh, but only if you like him, of course....hehehe...

Ah - see I'm a neat freak - so losing articles of clothing is quite a rarity in my world.

My last relationship was not bad at all - it was absolutely wonderful - and ended on amazing terms...we're still great friends....but yeah - it just wasn't working in the love department...however I find myself now looking to the past when we started dating and how wonderful it all was..blah blah blah....

Yeah - this guy thing is totally new for me - up until my last relationship I was not a big dater (mostly cause I could never find one) and now I've had two interested guys in a matter of months...it's weird!!! weird!!!

My sister has told me to just take it a day at a time...which I will...this guy seems very nice...:)

Thanks and thanks to all who also congratulated me and Wynn ee the Pooh.

First, the guy in the pic is not me. It is the handler at that show. Second, I do not have a bejeweled bolero jacket and matching pants  Well - at least not that I would wear that outfit to a dog show

Actually, I can, but do not like to go in the ring. I am the star - and the dog would just have to get over it

Why don't you show her, Jason?? She's awefully cute! Congrats.

I would like to join the bitchfest that has kinda become this thread. Can anyone answer this question....

Why are men scared of widows??? I've had a few interested lately myself, and as soon as your past marriage/dating/divorce discussion comes up (which it always does) they run like hell in the other direction as soon as you say widowed.... Oh well, what can you do except for laugh? When a good one comes along, he won't be afraid that "it's" contagious!

But, although it is little comfort, it is a good thing you find this out early

Yay! We used to show our dog, AJ (a Gordon Setter; Holly Hollow's Tale of Suspense), and he was getting pretty close to getting titles, etc.

Our dog, Tyler (Gordon Setter, too), only has hunting titles. There's no way he'd be a show dog. Our dog Riley's (surprise, Gordon Setter'D!) worthy to be a show dog, but he's waaayyy to stupid. Poor guy.

Unfortunately, I was getting ready to head out to the bus in seventh grade (October 17 2000  ) and AJ was eating his food next to me (he was REALLY protective over it). The lights were off, of course, and I hear him growling and I dart to the corner of the room and he ends up biting a 1/2" chunk out of my right leg. Tons of stitches for that one.

After that, we decided that maybe we should send him back to the breeder, since she knew how agressive he could be (she & my mom & dad were friends). A few months later, we find out AJ bloated and they tried to get him to an emergency vet, but apparently no one would take him. :(

It's really a shame, because he was a great dog even though he was really agressive at times. Like if he was downstairs and it was dark (which it always is in this house, since there are never any lights on -_-), you'd have to call his name at the top of the stairs first before you could walk down them or he'd growl and possibly go after you. :\

Is it my turn? Well, I'm sorry that I have no clue why men are afraid of widows. I'm the least qualified person to answer that question.

Well, let's see...I've had a diss experience. I had a Kerry bumper sticker on the door of my dorm room and someone ripped it off. I also heard that some people had Kerry signs in their yards and they were burned. I've been seeing lots of "Marriage: One Man, One Woman" bumper stickers, and I had to make myself not rip them off or key the person's car, but the thing is, I didn't, no matter how much I wanted to! I'm the one who should be angry enough to rip off a bumper sticker or two, anyway, not them!

Anyway, I have a crush on this girl in my history class and she's so heterosexual, damn it. And she has no idea I like her. And I'll be trying to focus on the Congress of Vienna or the Concert of Europe and I'll start having visions of the two of us slow dancing. It's so pathetic. The girl is perfect. She's absolutely perfect. And she's totally oblivious to that. The long, curly red hair, the deep brown eyes, the curves, the innocent smile, the freckles--it's all perfect. Damn it. Her voice is even perfect whenever she decides to speak to me. It's an unfortunate event when she does, because I'm always totally at a loss. Sometimes she tries to talk to me and I just can't say anything at all. I try to talk, but nothing comes, so I just give up and thumb through my notebook.

Wow. It felt good to rant about that. And it also felt oh so pathetic.

oh, man, that's the worst. I'm so sorry. Where's your gaydar? she does sound pretty, though, actually my best friend looks just like that...you should really try to smile and talk and act normal, though...and I mean normal, like you don't have a giant crush on her. This happens to me, too, it makes me act really blank, so as not to give away too much, ie, to control myself from giggling and smiling like doofus...that's probably what you're trying to avoid, too.
I have a scorpio-boy crush in my class too. we're friends and stuff, and he wants to sleep with me, but not sooooo much. he thinks he'd be slumming a bit, (he didn't tell me that, it just is - he's really ambitious, good looking, smooth, and has refined-ish tastes, even though really he is dirty, too. Basically, i wouldn't go with his life plan and vision) anyway, I'm not gonna sleep with someone who feels that way. especially since i'm smarter than him   but still it's torture. But he has a twin brother who lives on a boat and is all nature-y and hikey, and not as thin. I'm hoping to meet him sometime, actually!
Anyways
Good luck with that! :xoxo:

AmberThanks Amber! It makes me feel better to know that I'm not the only one who just blanks out and/or acts all giggly in these situations. I'm working on acting like a normal person. And about that guy--hey, at least you know you're smarter than him!

OMG - you're SO not the only one who acts like that in those situations....most of the time I am completely incapable of speaking to people I am attracted to...

Also - I've had my fair share of crushes on the straight girls...they suck - but are kind of fun...I refuse, however, to be one of the "I can convert them" type girls...I had a supervisor who was like that...was really beginning to get a bad reputation around town...mostly for freaking out straight women haha...;)

I'll join with another rant....it's been four and a half years since I've dated a woman....then I was single for a year then I met my ex-boyfriend (we were together for 2 1/2 years).

Now however I seem to have entered some asexual phase  Like I've had these two guys interested...I went on a date last night - but oh my God - these guys do nothing but annoy the crap outta me!!! I mean really....I just blah.....guess that means I need to just be single for a while....but yeah there was a gay/lesbian film festival here for the last two weeks or so...and a couple of weeks ago I was sitting in a coffee shop when one movie let out...and wow...I mean wow...things are way different here than in my hometown....a lot of attractive people came out of that movie....still...I'm SO slow when it comes to starting any relationship I guess I just want to make sure it's going to go somewhere...but then I always end things within the first couple of weeks....because I'm impatient and I figure if someone is annoying me that much it's not worth it....ack....

Now - Maria - that sucks about guys bolting when they hear about the widow thing - but I agree with Strand - better to find out early right? My opinion of guys is pretty low right now...which is bad...but oh well...

anyway - enough of my rant...

why is it Fleetwood Mac does not have an accurate list of all the previous concerts like other artists? I HATE having to figure out a setlist for a show by having to listen to the tape before burning it to CD...And then having to guess if the date on the tape is even accurate.

What a pain-in-the-ass!!!!

...I got married while I was on vacation last week! :D We went to see my bro in AZ & drove up to Vegas to spend a few nights there. During that time, we went to Valley of Fire state park & got hitched.

Quick, small, simple & romantic. We've been together 10 years, so we really felt a big wedding was a bit...umm...much? Here's a link with some info & a few pics of the park.

My pics are done (my sister in law took them for me.) Maybe I'll post a few when I have time (and if anyone cares, lol!)

Funny you should say that. I just went out to get my mail and every one of my signs was stolen.
