Early voting started today in Colorado. So I went to my local Safeway and cast my vote. From the looks of things, this is going to be a big success. They were busy.

I'm (not so patienly) awaiting my absentee ballot in the mail.
I am going to vote absentee in NM - since my vote will count more there than here in New York...
I'm worried though that my vote won't make it there or be counted...but eh...I'm excited..
I'm glad you voted...
GO OUT AND VOTE ALL YOU ELIGIBLE LEDGIES!!!!

I'm going this week to cast my absentee ballot they told me to just come on in to the Election Office and I can vote there instead of them sending it out to me via mail. My parents are also voting absentee this year. Of course, we'll all three be voting for Kerry, even though it won't really matter here in SC (although the Senate race is very important and very tight at the moment).

And will you be voting Kerry, my darling?
I don't trust voting absentee, so I'm going to vote at the polls when they open. For anyone voting absentee (Deanna), I would suggest filling the ballot out and sending it certified mail with signature receipt.

I have a client from Florida who did the same thing. Good strategy.

I am taking a handicap friend so she can avoid the lines at her local voting place. The cote early idea is great IMO. My only reservation is what is something happens between now and then that could change the pro - W's minds? But, all in all, it is a good thing!!!!!!!!

Here's a little Dylan for you: :xoxo:
They say ev'rything can be replaced,
Yet ev'ry distance is not near.
So I remember ev'ry face
Of ev'ry man who put me here.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.
They say ev'ry man needs protection,
They say ev'ry man must fall.
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.
Standing next to me in this lonely crowd,
Is a man who swears he's not to blame.
All day long I hear him shout so loud,
Crying out that he was framed.
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east.
Any day now, any day now,
I shall be released.
Of course, I prefer the live version that Stevie sings with him.

I SHALL BE RELEASED! My favorite Dylan song. :p
Although, I must say, Bette Midler's version on the "Divine Madness" concert video blows every other version out of the water. I had reservations about her singing Dylan, but hot damn, she pulled it off.

I just got back from voting. There was a line out the door! And trust me, they weren't voting for Shrub! (We had quite the time Bush bashing while we were in line together)! Nov. 2nd is the day we take our country back! Kerry in a landslide!

Enjoy this, I sure did:
NEW YORK (AP) -- Kid power! Democrat John Kerry is the winner, and the rest of the country should pay attention because the vote on Nickelodeon's Web site has correctly chosen the president of the United States in the past four elections.
Nearly 400,000 children and teens voted, and the results were released Wednesday. Kerry received 57 percent of the vote; President Bush got 43 percent.

Umm..well I just haven't become a resident of New York yet - I'm in limbo...so therefore I'm still considered a NM resident...and won't become an NY resident until a while after the election...
I didn't check on the legality - no one said anything to me about it...
I just want my vote to count dammit!! :D

Here's the wild thing--today no one checked either my voter registration card or my driver's license to see if I was who I said I was--and this was at our county election office!!!! I saw them check one person's ID but there were dozens of us in line. Go figure. Maybe the new county motto is "Vote early, vote often?" So does this mean I can vote again next week?
