That's a toughy. I have friends in the entertainment business that "sign photo's" for the stars (and the stars can't tell their own sigs from the fake ones..they are that good) so unless you get it in person, you don't know if it was actually signed by them or not (and COA's are a dime a dozen and really doesn't mean much). So......unless you REALLY REALLY know the source of the autograph, I would be a bit leary of autographs. Sorry, but that's the way it is these days. Too much big business in autographs. (And sending to the record company/management doesn't work real well, they get tons o'letters all the time.)
But, if you do BUY an autograph, the ones belonging to the internation/national societies (UACC...etc.) usually will give you a refund if you are not sure of an item's authenticity. But, again... the secretaries are better at sigs than the stars sometimes. So , buyer beware.
OR.......we can all take up a collection and hire Stevie for an autograph session! :blob2: :] :blob1:

That's true. The only to get it and know that it's 100% authentic is to get it yourself. I have never met Stevie but I did win the Fleetwood Mac Fan Club trivia contest and got a Say You Will album cover flat signed by the entire band. I have gotten Lindsey's autograph twice now, and based on that you can tell the signatures match up. I've seen some really terrible Stevie signed stuff that is blatantly fake.

I doubt you will get anything through the record company. I got a signed picture back in 88 via Ginny Kamano who used to handle her fan mail. But she doesn't have anyone handling it anymore. I also got a tourbook signed personally when I met Stevie back in 2001.

And as seeker has said... be very careful on ebay. There are some obvious fakes on there!

Me too!

I threw Stevie a letter onstage during the Tango tour in 87. And, to make sure she got it, I mailed a copy to the fanmail address c/o Ginny a few weeks after the tour ended. Early in the summer of 88, I got a big envelope in the mail from Stevie -- with that black&white pencil drawing of her profile (knowwhatI'mtalkingabout?) by the return address area. I opened it, and it had a little note from Ginny thanking me from Stevie for the letter & kind words, and an gold-autographed photo personalized to me! :]

I don't know the whole Ginny story, but I appreciate what she did for me, at least! Having her was better than having no one at all handle the fan mail.
