Bob Welch pre-Mac bands - anyone heard their music?

[sharksfan2000]

I'm curious about the bands that Bob Welch was in before joining Fleetwood Mac - Seven Souls and Head West. I've seen that some of their recordings are available from GEMM (although many of them are fairly expensive as I suppose they are "collector's items"). I also saw that there was one review of the Head West LP in the Penguin album reviews.

Has anyone here heard any of this material and can comment on it?

Well, I'm still looking for the 7S album but I've got some of the singles and I prefer the original tunes like "Groove in" & "I'm no stranger", but the covers are good as well, not much different to HW stuff, but in either case, little of it "features" Welch, it's mostly Robert Hunt led stuff. It's good though. :)
