Whenever I see "more coming about this soon!" on a Web site, I check out, mentally & electronically. Who wants to be spoonfed fake thrills by a used car salesman? How can people tolerate the sales pitch lingo year after year? Doesn't it ever wear them down?

Besides, this klunko uses more exclamation points in his one short announcement than the airy-faery ellipses the average Stevie follower uses in her diary.

Why's that? John's always been very pleasant to me. I met him in 2001 when I went to see Stevie in Vegas. Fans either really love John or really hate him, Pip. His stony arrogance either draws people in or repels them. He used to come into chats every Sunday just to field silly questions from born-again Stevie fans. That's all he did, for hours, until he broke his stony silence with a brief parting & then fled. Why he showed up to a CHAT every week is still a fascinating mystery to ponder. I always figured he was picking up pointers on how to hold a conversation.

It doesn't hurt for you to know Knight treated a lot of great loyal fans exactly that way when he first started Mick's site and chat board. To be kind, let's just say his communication skills were inept and caused a lot of anger and resentment among a large group of fans. If his way with fans has improved you're lucky to be treated so well. I wouldn't know. I'm still in the village of the banned. I haven't been to Mick's chat in over a year. If he's helping you that's great. I'd be willing to believe he has improved his way with fans except I'm confused about this

:laugh: :laugh: I don't know exactly what went on, but i've seen it referred to, etc. i don't really think being the soul of discretion is in Mick's makeup...and actually i've found him engaging and expressive in the interviews i've seen him in...which i've liked, but that's because i don't really know about his other stuff, or haven't experienced it. however, i definitely acknowledge that he's been a bs -er, and that he has some less than desireable qualities...

I actually got my money's worth from that club because I got to go to the Boston taping. Otherwise it was a complete waste and probably cut a year off my life due to stress. :rolleyes:

He still runs Mick's site and is Mick's business partner and friend. He (along with Mick) is Executive Producer of 'The Mick Fleetwood Band's' new offering. And Todd Smallwood (who features on the album) is managed by Todd also. It seems he is still a big part of Mick's life.

Well i'm not exactly a "new" fan, i've been listening to Stevie since my Soph. yr of HS and now i'm out of HS but I just don't go looking in to everything, I just happened to find this guys email and thought it was worth a shot to get my story back to the band, he sent it to Mick's management and I found it nice... I can't just say I don't like him since he's done things to others, it's not me that he's doing the stuff too; that is of yet ~ I don't think he will be helping out but he was just the only one that had actually wanted to help at the time, John Kinney didn't.

Please don't take this as a criticism of you, Susan, because I don't mean this directed at you. Not at all. :wavey:

Your post reminds me of something that still saddens me about the fan club ordeal. Mr. Todd's obviously still in the picture of FM. I suppose it's exclusively due to ties with Mick not the rest of the band. Just because he's still involved I hope fans don't forget it was the effort of many fans who disagreed with Mr. Todd and his methods that ended his role in the fan club and brought about many gestures of good will toward the fans. Invitations to the Boston tapings and Lindsey's Soundstage were not mere coincidences. It isn't common knowledge either that specific fans who worked hard to bring club problems to the attention of the band did not benefit from those good will gestures with tickets to the tapings, or T-shirt give aways, and no Egyptian jewelry either. :laugh:

Instead of personal gain, many fans worked hard to help the band keep a good reputation and help other fans get restitution after being ripped off by Mr. Todd. These fans have never asked to be thanked but I would like to offer my thanks to everyone who went above and beyond the call to expose some of Mr. Todd's tactics. If Mick is not cutting ties with this guy, I hope he's given him a good talking to.

GoldDustGypsy03, I want you to know Mr. Todd did right by me and gave me a refund when I complained about the fan club. However, I know a lot of other fans were mistreated, attacked, defamed, and lied about in order to cover his mistakes in mishandling the fan club. I hope those methods are a thing of the past. If not, Mick is heading for trouble. Yet he and everyone in the band is well aware of what happened and why. Sorry, GoldDustGypsy03, but comments like yours make me understand why guys like Todd can get away with what they do.

Wow, long story lol Well my friends Sheena, Jen, and Jess; we had plans to put this 18x22 card together for Stevie(see pic on banner), a card to thank her for bringing our little group of friends together; we put some poems we made and songs for her, some for her lost friend Robin too ~ it took me since last Dec. till May of this yr to put the whole thing together, same with the card we made for John, the drums drawing I made for Mick, and this portfolio of poems we made for Lindsey... In the beginning, we had this friend named Joe, he was a security guard up in MI and he had told us that he could get his boss that at the time supposedly had worked for Stevie before and he said that he would put a phone call together with Stevie to find out if the band got the gifts, Joe had said that his boss got the call and that he talked to Stevie telling him that our gift made her bday and that she wished that my friends and I were her's; it was months and months that my friends and I believed him and we had been waiting for letters from the band like Joe had said would happen ~ they never did, and so then this MI show came up and it was where my friends and I, which I couldn't go along with Sheena, was where Stevie and the rest of the band wanted to meet us; we ended up finding out that Joe lied and he had been pulling our leg this whole time. Wow, long story lol Well my friends Sheena, Jen, and Jess; we had plans to put this 18x22 card together for Stevie(see pic on banner), a card to thank her for bringing our little group of friends together; we put some poems we made and songs for her, some for her lost friend Robin too ~ it took me since last Dec. till May of this yr to put the whole thing together, same with the card we made for John, the drums drawing I made for Mick, and this portfolio of poems we made for Lindsey... In the beginning, we had this friend named Joe, he was a security guard up in MI and he had told us that he could get his boss that at the time supposedly had worked for Stevie before and he said that he would put a phone call together with Stevie to find out if the band got the gifts, Joe had said that his boss got the call and that he talked to Stevie telling him that our gift made her bday and that she wished that my friends and I were her's; it was months and months that my friends and I believed him and we had been waiting for letters from the band like Joe had said would happen ~ they never did, and so then this MI show came up and it was where my friends and I, which I couldn't go along with Sheena, was where Stevie and the rest of the band wanted to meet us; we ended up finding out that Joe lied and he had been pulling our leg this whole time. Well that's not going to stop my friends and I from finding out what they thought, this was the biggest thing that had ever happened in our lives and we're very dtermined to make our dreams come true. But this is the last time i'm posting in this thread, I am going to explain this one more time... One of my friends found L's #, she didn't believe it was his, it shouldn't be easy to get #'s like that, we went to the FL show with the hand made gifts that took about a yr to make, we got them back stage, next day we wanted to know if they got them since they meant a big deal, one friend had the idea to call up K to see if she would know if the gifts got there, she said that she didn't know but was sure the band appreciated it, my friend said sorry for calling and how she got the #, K didn't care, no one called ever since then, on the day of the MI show, Joe had been saying that he still talked to Stevie and that she wanted the girls backstage, he couldn't get the job done and he had told the girls that he had been talking with K and she was the one that was going to get them back there, he called up the #, she said she couldn't help them, the girls got pissed since he called, end of story.

That's why I feel so bad 'cause he had totally made our reps look bad to this band, making us think that he had talked to her and then us sending emails to official sites having that Todd dude send how my friend She and I couldn't go and the band had wanted to meet us, stuff like that

Well that's not going to stop my friends and I from finding out what they thought, this was the biggest thing that had ever happened in our lives and we're very dtermined to make our dreams come true. And I do feel the need to apologize to Lindsey, I didn't make the calls but Joe did and I think that there has to be an apology; no one should be calling up his home like that AND I wouldn't doubt it if the band found out about some of the stuff.

He's the only one so far that has been willing to see what the band members thought of our gifts ~ well he didn't say that but at least he felt sorry for what my friends and I have been through, it's been hard; being told dif things, lied to; feeling as if the band didn't care ~ all stuff like that.


I was glad that he had sent it though, I didn't mind that he sent my story to Mick's management; my friends will do anything right now to find out what they thought ~ the band that is, we're not giving up no matter what.

Joe was part of your group, who in an effort to get backstage and meet the band violated Lindsey's privacy by calling his home twice. It was alright when Joe was calling if it would have worked. You keep trying to make it seem like all of you were some innocents in this charade, but you only want to distance yourself from Joe now that this has all gone badly. Why do I get the feeling that had you and your friends managed to get backstage and see the band (heaven forbid) Joe would be your best buddy and his call to Lindsey's home would be long forgotten since you and your friends would have gotten what they wanted.

Fans either really love John or really hate him, Pip. His stony arrogance either draws people in or repels them. I think reading what Mr. Todd has actually said to fans is the best way to get to understand why so many fans were frustrated. It explains how THIS thread could be over 10 pages long. The tour's over. He's gone from the fan club- the ticket selections improved, and yet a bunch of fans have yet to get their "free" leftover calendars from 2004. Was the "fan club experience" a bust?
