[estranged4life]

What are your favorite music videos of all time???

My faves-

"Barcelona"-Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe`

"Estranged"-Guns N Roses (The dolphins make the video goofy however)

"The Show Must Go On"-Queen (The montage of footage from their career is awesome)

"These Are The Days Of Our Lives"-Queen (The last video appearance of Freddie Mercury)

"I'm Going Slightly Mad"-Queen (The baby penguin & Brian May dressed as an oversized penguin...Classic!)

"Wasted Years"-Iron Maiden (Video montage ala Queen's "The Show Must Go On")

"Gypsy"-Fleetwood Mac (Duh!)

"Keep The Spirit Alive"-Killer Dwarfs (Hilarious concept video with the lead singer Russ being hauled around in a crate)

"Brothers In Arms"-Dire Straits (Great pencil animation & very poignant)

[diamondsnake]

Nothing Really Matters by Madonna

Frozen by Madonna

Power of Goodbye by Madonna

Stand Back (Live in Boston) by Fleetwood Mac

[DeadliestPoison]

The original version of "Here With Me" by Dido. (The one with the ocean & her on the ledge).

"Viva Forever" by the Spice Girls. Hate all you want, but that's a beautiful video.

"Only You" by Portishead. So beautiful & surreal.

[wondergirl9847]

Take On Me - A-Ha (When that first came out, it was mindblowing in that they had live action along with animation. Very cool and it's still cool to watch today.)

Little Lies - FM (Love the setting, the colors, they all look great, and it's my fave FM video)

Parents Just Don't Understand - DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince (Their videos were so funny and non offensive. I love Will!)

[David]

What are your favorite music videos of all time?I always liked Springsteen's "Nebraska" video. Springsteen & his band don't appear in it at all; it's just an unfolding series of tableaux vivants of the Atlantic City Boardwalk area.

[Serrart]

Some that I like (excluding FM or Stevie):

Everybody Hurts - R.E.M. (Jake Scott is a brilliant director)

Jeremy- Pearl Jam (Mark Pellington is another very good one)

Tonight, Tonight - Smashing Pumpkins (I love the Melies atmosphere)

Ironic - Alanis Morissette

Rain - Madonna (Ryuichi Sakamoto :xoxo: )

Hurt - Johnny Cash

Don't Worry Be Happy - Bobby McFerrin

Praise You - Fatboy Slim

All Is Full Of Love - Bjork

No Rain - Blind Melon

Where The Streets Have No Name - U2

A lot of really good ones so far, but I have to mention "Weapon of Choice" by Fatboy Slim. I love Christopher Walken in that!

Mysterious Ways--U2
Hazard--Richard Marx
Open Your Heart--Madonna
Boys of Summer--Don Henley

[amber]

ok, I only got MTV in, 1990 or something and it's been spotty since then, so forgive me.
Just a Girl - No Doubt
Spiderwebs - No Doubt
Trapped in a Box - No Doubt
Almost all No Doubt Videos :D (It's the extra, extra charisma of the lead singer that does it)
Like A Prayer - Madonna (don't like the song much, but love the dark hair and the dress)
Vogue - Madonna (duh)
The Macarena Video (shaddup - those people dancing were silly and had great outfits)
I Like Big Butts
Fantastic Voyage - I love the silliness, and everything coming out of the car trunk
the one by those grunge people that was all weird, and everything kind of "slid" around....I can't believe i can't remember...grrrrr...it was like dark hole or something...aaaaahhhhhh...Oh, Yeah!!!! BLACK HOLE SUN!!!
Criminal - Fiona Apple
kay, that's all I can think of right now...All FM videos go in separate category as "very favorites"

I LOVE this song! I don't think I've seen the video, though.

[thepoetinmyhear]

Great topic:

more recent:
Johnny Cash - Hurt (amazing video, gives me chills every time)

No Doubt - It's My Life (just a fun video in which Gwen systematically kills each of her bandmates)

Michelle Branch - All You Wanted (the freeze frame moments worked quite nicely with the song)

Older:
Fleetwood Mac - Gypsy (sadly it's essentially the only good Mac video I've seen)

Pat Benatar - Shadows of the Night (everyone raves about Love is a Battlefield, but nazi fighting Pat in this video could kick prostitute dancing pat's rear end)

Stevie Nicks - Rooms on Fire (her only good older video IMO, recently IYEDB and Everyday were pretty good)

Aha - Take on Me (agree 100% with the first person to mention this)

Dire Straights - Money for Nothing (who doesn't love this video?)

Michael

[TheBlueLamp]

Gypsy - FM

Sweet And Low - Deborah Harry (The hottest Deb's ever looked)

Now I Know You Know - Deborah Harry
