On Saturday 28th August Roger Waters joined Don Henley and Stevie Nicks for a very private concert held in 'The Hamptons, NY. The NY Post reports that "Henley brought down the house with such tunes as "Witchy Woman" and "Hotel California," paired up with Nicks for a rendition of "Leather and Lace," and later joined Waters to sing songs off "The Wall" album. While apple pie and ice cream was served, Jedell said, "The dessert was really this concert." We are still seeking clarification on which songs from 'The Wall were played, but it seems highly likely 'Comfortably Numb will have been played.

For real. When you see the names Stevie and Don in the same sentence, you know what song will be played. Too bad they can't get past Leather and Lace to do something like Reconsider Me.

Or "The Highwayman" ...... HELLO!!!

Who am I kidding- Stevie wouldn't be able to do the song justice these days anyway. I betcha "Leather and Lace" was dropped down several keys!

It would be amazing to hear Stevie do the parts of "The Doctor" for Comfortably Numb, but unfortunately the chances of that having happened is very low as those lines are Roger's parts! There is not a chance in hell that Stevie (or Don, or Roger!) could hit the high notes required for David Gilmour's chorus parts, so I'd be interested to know who did that part. I'm hoping that Roger and Stevie BOTH did the verse parts as harmonies.....how f***ing cool would that be!!!

(They should've got Lindsey to play the solo.....;) )

OK I have today been told by Roger's manager that the two tracks Roger performed were Mother and Comfortably Numb. It may well be of the two Stevie may have performed vocals on MOther!

If you are interested in this gig I have added some details of a news broadcast going out Saturday morning which will review gig.

Just heard Don used his touring band on Saturday night and at no point did Stevie Nicks join Roger Waters on stage.

GREAT!

What a waste of a potentially amazing harmony.

Anyway...what are the chances of a bootleg of this concert showing up...? 1%...2%...?

Thanks for the news magicbillie.

Just for fun (or if you're getting tired of the survivor stuff), does anyone want to help count the number of public performances of Leather & Lace with Stevie & Don?

Over a span of 22 years, 14 duo performances of the song really isn't that much... I'm surprised people are sick of them performing it together.

How many times have they sung together and NOT performed this song?

Once, right? I think it was one of the Walden Woods Benefits... Stevie sang "Black Velvet" on her own, and "It Takes Two" with Don.

But, hey, if Stevie Nicks and Don Henley were doing a show together somewhere, I'm sorry, but I'd want to see them do "Leather & Lace."
Like I said, 14 times over the course of 22 years, really doesn't provide that many opportunities for people to see them perform that song together.

Don and Stevie co-headlined Day 1 of the "Day at the Garden" concert in Bethel, NY in August 1998 (site of Yasgur's farm) and did not perform LnL. I was pissed since I had to sit through an entire set of that whiny Eagle dude and it was all for naught!

But every time they're together (with one exception, big whoop) they sing it. I think it shows a lack of effort in performing and it makes them look like they're simply resting on their laurels.

But every time they're together (with one exception, big whoop) they sing it. I think it shows a lack of effort in performing and it makes them look like they're simply resting on their laurels. This reminds me of the time Stevie & Lindsey (with guitar in hand) were sitting in the KLOS studio with Mark & Brian, & they asked L&S to play "something ... anything." They couldn't think of anything they could play & sing together, so L played Never Going Back Again. Their seeming inability or unwillingness to try anything out was mind-boggling. Here these two have been playing & singing together since 1968 or so, & they're at a loss?!

Stevie has been a lot braver with Tom Petty over the years at his concerts. They've done a bunch of songs, like Insider, Stop Dragging My Heart Around, I Will Run to You, Not Fade Away, I Need to Know, Silent Night, Don't Bring Me Down, Make It Better & probably many others. Maybe Stevie should have been a Heartbreaker all these years.
