Good luck....lol..We expect a full report of all the BS he says...

We also expect to know if he says once again "the world is better off without Saddam in power." Let me know, I'm beginning to expect that line from him.

No seriously, do report back, and let us know...we love to hear comments from Dubya. Maybe he will talk about the economy and say once again (like he already said ) "It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it."

and let us know if he speaks on public education and says ONCE AGAIN his famous quote : "Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?"
And if the President really wants to discuss our country he can say once again : "I was raised in the west. The west of Texas. It's pretty close to California. In more ways than Washington, D.C., is close to California."

And HOPEFULLY he will let everyone in on his ideas on Social Security and say once again his best quote : "They talk about social security like it's some kind of government program!"

This is my first time posting on here in ages, but I heard that in New Mexico, people attending the Bush-Cheney rally were required to sign a 'loyalty oath' or something of the like. The Republican Senator from Minnesota later debunked that myth, but I'm not sure I quite believe him. So if you have to do that, let us know.

I'd love to go to a Bush rally, just to see the how the other side lives.

But no way in hell would I sign a loyalty oath. Peace -

Yes--The Bush campaign has been carefully screening the audiences that King George speaks to. Expect lots of softball questions and fawning comments made by the kool-aid drinkers.

Hey, you scoff... but I'm telling you, Stevie Wonder can SEE! He's been fooling us for all these years, but Our President is too smart to fall for it!
In an attempt to out the sighted Mr. Wonder, he orchestrated a very clever trick which was fiendish in its intricacies!

Unfortunately, that Stevie is even more fiendish and even more clever than poor George could have suspected!
But if it had worked, you'd all be praising him right now!!!

Did you agree with Bush from 1978 till the late 1990s when he claimed to be pro-choice?

In 1978, Bush, who was 31 at the time, was seeking the Republican nomination in Texas' 19th Congressional District. He was in a fierce battle with a man named Reese (I think). To distinquish himself from the other candidate Bush told the Avalanche Journal that he opposes the pro-life amendment favored by the other candidate and favors leaving up to a woman and her doctor the abortion question. So Bush, just like his father USED to support abortion rights. His father supported a woman's right to choose all the way up till he became Reagan's running mate in 1980.
When running against Ann Richards in 1994 he avoided the abortion issue completely by saying "it's not an issue right now" and "the USA has settled the abortion issue."

So which stance of Bush's do you support? His previous pro choice stance, or his new stance of pro-life that he now uses ?

Then there was the Bush flip-flop on the whole "I'm against the 9/11 commission" then he was for it. He was against Condi testifying before said commission, and then he was for it. He was against the idea of a Centralized Intelligence Czar, and now he's for it. The list goes on and on and on and on. . . . .

My favorite being the Washinton Times May 2002 headline "Bush Rejects Probe of 9/11: Will Not Give Up Sensitive Terror Papers." LOVE that headline. ;)

And remember how the families of the 9/11 victims wanted Warren Rudman from New Hampshire to chair the commission once Bush bowed to public pressure? No, Bush said, I want...Henry Kissinger! Then Kissinger resigned three weeks later because, according to him, he didn't want to disclose secrets regarding his financial "conflicts of interest."

Yet all the right-wing assholes praise Bush for his "swift and resolute" action when it comes to investigating 9/11.

He was against the idea of a Centralized Intelligence Czar, and now he's for it. The list goes on and on and on and on. . . . .

They actually wanted to implement a Czar EIGHT MONTHS before 9/11, but Bush shot the idea down. The Gary Hart and Scott Rudman commission issued three national security reports and they pushed for the creation of not only an Intelligence Czar, but a Homeland Security Agency. So, essentially, the 9/11 commission's report gave the exact same advice that we were given four years ago. It's a farce.

Don't even get me started on how they try to blame Clinton for terrorism. My personal favorite argument from the right is how the WTC '93 bombing happened under his watch and he did "nothing." It's rather silly when you consider that Clinton had only been in office for 38 days when the WTC was attacked. And Bush was in office for nine months, deciding not to implement any of the suggestions or policies that the Clinton administration told them to implement.

Well, I went yesterday. I was actually a volunteer and had to get there 5-6 hours before the event. I was escorting local media and handicap accessible people to their positions. Which gave me an awesome seat 20 feet away from my president! Some other cool things first...I made friends with this secret service lady, and she was telling me about her job, and all the things that go allong with it (very neat). Now the rallly was held at an arena here that is barely used since a newer opened 4 blocks away. They completely filled the lowerbowl and the floor with supporters.

As far as people who were given tickets to the event...Well, the tickets had to be picked up at the Bush Cheney offices around South Florida. I know some of my Republican friends recieved phone calls to see if they wanted to attend. By the day of the event, the tickets were gone. There were a fairly medium sized group of Kerry protesters outside, sometimes having it out with pro-Bush supporters.

As far as the speech goes. I gotta say that he honestly impressed me. Even I had some doubts as to how he would sound live and in person, but I think he comes out worse of television. We heard that Democrat Senator guy (from Georgia) introduce Laura Bish and then Laura introduced the President. He talked about alot of things....probably close to 45 minutes. He discussed the war and how he would still do the same thing today if he had to. He discussed the economy, corporate scandal, and of course Cuba. Since the Cuban-american population really could give Bush the state of Florida, he really hammered down the topic.

Funny things: Bush speaking Spanish...enough said  He said alot of things in Spanish....he mentioned Jeb his "hermanito" (brother) wasn't here. He then said about Kerry's voting habitis "voto si, despues voto no" (I vote yes, then I vote no) :D

Overall a good time, and I gotta say I'm happy I'll be voting for him. (insert every other Ledgies replies here, LOL)

My only question is: After you went to the thing, did you come home and research the things he said to be sure that he wasn't lying (again)? What did he say? That the economy was in full swing (Lie #1)? That Iraq was going well (Lie #2)? That Castro has made an economy out of prostitution (Lie #3)? That he wasn't involved with the Swift Boat Vets (Lie #4)? That Saddam had the capabilities to manufacture WMDs (Lie #5)? Did he launch into a tirade against corporate scandal, even though he's involved at the highest levels (*cough*Enron*cough*)?

Seriously, what did the man say? I'm glad that the Florida polling shows Bush losing favor, though, especially form the Cuban-American vote. His policies against Cuba have backfired.

Bush's Cuban-American support slips: He won 81 percent of the group's vote in South Florida in 2000, but some are switching sides because of tighter travel restrictions.

By TAMARA LUSH and DAVID ADAMS
Published August 27, 2004

MIAMI - Standing in line Thursday for her charter flight to Havana, Zaida Fuentes fumed as she thought about President Bush's tougher restrictions on travel to Cuba.

"It's not right," she said of the new rule allowing Cuban-Americans to visit their families on the island once every three years instead of once a year. "Everybody has the right to see their family."

The tighter restrictions have created cracks in the once rock-solid support among Cuban-American voters for President Bush, who will hold a campaign rally today in Miami. Most Cuban-American voters still back Bush, but polls indicate his support has slipped since he won 81 percent of South Florida's Cuban-American vote in 2000.

The president has lost Fuentes. A lifelong Republican, the 57-year-old retiree has changed her party affiliation to Democrat. She plans to vote for Democratic U.S. Sen. John Kerry in November.
