If I could vote (in the US), I would.

Bono For President (http://bonoforpresident.homestead.com/index.html)

Well this is all very well and revolutionary, and I hate to be so angsty but might I suggest to these people that the earth does indeed not revolve around the US . . . .

At least not until pretty much all of Europe is getting their rear end kicked by Hitler and we have to come and save the day, some third world nation needs our money for food and medicine, some crumbling nation that used to be Communist needs us to overthrow their horrible dictator despite the UN refusing to act, some nation a la Japan and Germany in WWII that openly attacked the world needs us to help them rebuild after they lose, etc.

So, hate the US' "arrogance" all you want, but the fact is for the last 100 or so years, the US has been very important in the world and people are loathe to admit that. Have we made mistakes - yes. Have we done more good than bad - yes - I suggest removing Hitler when no one else could stop him was probably the finest hour IMO and it alone far eclipses any bad we have done.

Sorry for the rant, but I am just feeling a little patriotic today

Don't get me started about the current California governor.

Oh, speaking of the German Chancellor of the 30's & 40's...wasn't he an immigrant from Austria? Just that alone is justification enough to keep immigrants from running for President.

But, then, look who we have as POTUS now? Anyone up for giving Texas back to Mexico?

Dammit, Chili, your logic above is impeccable.

But, damn, I was hoping the rule would get changed so I could run.

Ah, I was commenting on the absurdity of the desire for an Irishman to forget concerns for his own nation and to jump to the rescue of another nation. And yes I realise that the page being referred to was completely hypothetical.

In regards to your point however, no good deed can ever justify a bad one. I can donate all my money to unicef if I want, that doesn't give me the right to feel ok about then going and killing a child. So yes good has been done but that is no form of justification and it sickens me that it would make perpetrators of such crimes as mass slaughter feel ok about commiting these acts.

Argh. I didn't even raise this. Do we have to get into such a political argument? You know we'll just keep arguing despite the fact that neither will give in.

Touche my dear one touche'

It has been an argumentative Tues. for me and that is spilling over into the boards

Oh come on people--let's have some fun with this idea. Yes, we know it can't happen. But think of the possibilities! Why the inaguration balls alone would be worth voting for him--can you imagine the rockin' line-up we'd get? BTW--this is one more reason to vote Democratic-we always have the best talent line-ups for the Inaguration.

And let's think about presidential fashion shall we--we'd have the first president who not only could wear leather pants--but would look damn good in them! Again, it's a win-win!

He could nominate Keith Richards to head the Drug Enforcement Agency--I mean who knows more about drugs than Keith Richards? (Unless it's Courtney Love).

Come on folks--nominate some people for the Bono cabinet--I know you got it in ya'!

Hmmmm...actually, I think Eric Clapton would be a better nominee. Don't forget about his Crossroads Center.

True politics aside, I don't want him to be president either. This would make him slightly less cool, and definitely less inclined to make music. Horrible idea, if any.

Don't get me wrong, I love Bono, clearly.

Ok fine. Bono can run, but can't Jimmy have a role?

Yes, my dear Lux--of course Jimmy can have a role in the Bono administration. What would you like him to do? I'm going to warn you--there's already stiff competition for Head of the FDA--between Eric Clapton and Keith Richards.

I think that Mick Jagger (Mr. London School of Economics) should be appointed Treasury Secretary.

I still haven't though of anything fabulous enough for my beloved Stevie. Maybe Secretary of Atmosphere--you know--she could light incense and candles and throw shawls over lamps before cabinet meetings.

Willie Nelson gets to be Agriculture Secretary though, for sure.

dreamongypsydkm
08-25-2004, 12:56 AM
Bono will not be president. However, for the sake of theory, I like the idea of Jimmy as Presidential Hog. He clearly has all the credentials necessary. I think Lux and I can account for that, and he'd be the first of his kind.

Anyone willing to second that?

dreamongypsydkm
08-25-2004, 01:30 AM
And so Bono and Jimmy have once again transformed metaphorically into Darrelle and Lux.

So, I'll express myself through photo:

http://www.u2world.com/news/IMG/jpg/capt.1046440019.france_chirac_bono_par103.jpg

All we are saying, is give Lux a chance.

dreamongypsydkm
08-25-2004, 01:51 AM
Not at all, Lux. It seems perhaps you've missed the point. Bono (Darrelle) is simply asking the kind people of the Fleetwood Mac fan boards to have a little sympathy for Jimmy (Lux). Bono and I truly enjoy beating and generally taking advantage of our respective hogs. We just want the others to find the fascist rulers deep inside to appreciate them in the way we do.
For god's sake people!

dreamongypsydkm
08-25-2004, 01:59 AM
Darrelle, that photo of Bono does look freakishly like my friend. Pity you can't meet him, you know, with that Pacific Ocean in the way. Although he does have a kid but then Bono has a few and I'm sure you wouldn't reject him. This guy is a poor struggling artist yet he's also the happiest person I've ever met. I sometimes admire that then at other times think he's just ignorantly optimistic. Maybe he's nothing like Bono actually. Well Bono is less inclined to wait tables all day and my friend less inclined to go on a sellout world tour and then run for office.

This talk of an artistic, paternal (I say paternal, as I might be an expecting mother and therefore this is a good quality although I've never considered it before), and Bono-like Australian man only makes me want to embark on the journey down under even more. His ignorant optimism only makes me find him all the more appealing. However, it's hard to imagine a Bono double who is not appealing. He's like an attainable Bono. Can he sing?

dreamongypsydkm
08-25-2004, 02:10 AM
So rather than show compassion, you're hoping they step up in agreement over the fact that a hog can be most useful and is something to put on display?

Finally, the hog understands. I should give you a little more time, as you're slower than the others ('retarded' isn't allowed is it?), but you took three or four posts to understand. The others now not only dislike you, they think you're stupid as well.

See, people? Lux, she's not so bad. She's just slow, and only worthy of slaveship. Please.

Oh, and Bono doesn't want to bathe Jimmy. He has to swear in Mick and Willie and the other to their respective political positions. (I'm just staying on topic.)

dreamongypsydkm
08-25-2004, 12:02 PM
Continue to attack me slave, and not only will the general Ledge public crucify you, but you will aslo be separated from your pathetic incapable companion (Jimmy).
As much as I enjoy the fact that you remain the victim, and I not glorified yet not repremanded, I will not let you point that out. Let the others continue their cycle please. Such is nature.

I'm running out of equipment knicknacks.

dreamongypsydkm
08-26-2004, 05:20 AM
It's parents day! The one day of the year (other than Jimmy's birthday) where he gets a hot bath and a haircut. Doesn't Jimmy look lovely?
However, Bono is the real center of attention of parents day. I'm all but certain he shares equipment and activity with Jimmy's mother.
Oh, you bastard Bono. You bastard.

What the hell slave? Why do you call me a pathetic substitute dominatrix?

Oh, wait, I was offended, but now I'm distracted by all the Bono compliments. I like them. Makes me feel so proud for always seeing the inner beauty within the thin red haired pastie Irish boy. Now that he's a well-aged 44 years old, all the interested women come around. You know he's mine don't you?
You slaves don't get him. Well, unless you include torture and beatings.

What the hell? I'm so far gone off the topic and in other ways. That sentence didn't even make sense.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Hoggs. Hungry, dirty, and always horny.
It's hard to believe that some of them have IQs as high as a humans. Clearly you don't. I'm not a Hogg. Don't you think it's rather odd that IQ is now measured by posts on forms? Or is the Jimmy photos? Oh wait, our IQs weren't measured at all. It was only mentioned that reading Zep and Sharks would shave off points or something?
I cannot keep up.

Hm, funny how a 60 year old retard can make you cry.

"To be actually.. the first." http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/JimmyRetard.gif

Well, I'm not anywhere near done editing this film. I don't know, maybe it's because I like editing so much. I fear completion. I don't think it will be complete anytime soon though. I don't know. It's hard to predict with things.

Well, I'm not listening to Puff Daddy, fortunately. I think that would make this chocolate shake (which I happen to be drinking as well) begin to come up my esophogus. Luckily though I am listening to Kashmir. Gah this is lovely, probably because I'm so relieved we've begun editing again. I was worried we were going to fall behind.

Even though Jimmy doesn't necesarrily make me cry, unless it's that pitiful photo of him in the fetal postion, this photo does:

Whatever label feels comfortable, that's allright.. you do know there's such a thing as bisexuality though? Never mind, I'm just teasing the straight people.

There is no such thing as an honest politician who does his job only for the people. It's a rule in sociology. They're a necessary evil, no one likes them but no one would like to do their job either. Yeah all that media stuff sucks..

No! Don't tease us poor persecuted straight people! We don't like to be teased. Unless it's Bono or Robert (or both) teasing (or pulling) my hair in rapture.

So, it appears I abandoned you Lux. I'm sorry, it's just that I work a lot, mainly for money to see Paul Hewson and Lindsey. I'm being attacked right now through IM by many undesirables, and now I miss you. Please return. I'm going to lie down, not go to the bank, and let the debt continue to accumulate on my account.

I thought in my free time away from work, I would research old Robert, and try to make a case for him, proving his lingering sexiness. Photographic evidence:

When he makes an abnormal facial expression, he doesn't look so bad, really. You can't really tell how wrinkly and saggy his face is.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Led%20Zeppelin/woooooha.jpg

Now, honestly, this one is just cute. Cute Robert.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Led%20Zeppelin/woahbaby.jpg

The pose is sexy. And the open shirt, yeah I like that. I'd still do him.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Led%20Zeppelin/bigboots.jpg

Despite his crusty hair and rosey skintone, he looks good with the guitar. Maybe he should avoid red blouses though.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Led%20Zeppelin/untitled.bmp

Still, old Robert is put to shame when compared to this:

What a tragedy.

Indeed, it has been five hours since the sleep-inducing narcotic pumping into my vein through an IV was taken out, and I was wheeled to my car with an enormous ice pack tied to my face.
I remember screaming in the middle of it because I woke up for a minute and could feel scalples in my gums. Then I remember when I woke up when they were all finished, thinking I really wanted to be a surgeon and have a yacht so I'd need to have a really expensive aged bottle of wine. I still feel this way. Very weird.
Anyway, please come back. George W. is giving a speech. I'm sad.

And for you, a relatively nice yet recent Robert. From 1995 I guess. Ha, it's the Brett syndrome, he's in darkness that's why he looks good.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v127/Lux_Adams/Robert04.jpg

I hope for your sake Kortni doesn't read this.

Robert does look good there. Now, is it just me or does he resemble Rattle and Hum era Bono in that photo?

Yes, in the way that Robert was acceptable until the mid-80s and now is a monster.
However, this is acceptable and desirable, even at the age of 44:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Bonoblackirish.jpg

I love sexy middle-aged men.

I read somewhere recently that there are some pictures surfacing of Bono's 15 year old daughter Jordan topless on a beach in Spain. Why anyone would want that, I don't know. Well actually, maybe Jimmy would.

You just publicly admitted to wanting to see Jordan Hewson topless. I guess it can't get any lower than that. You have an excellent forum career, Lux. Well, I can always post a photo of her with her top on.
Yes, it is odd. Jimmy, granted more yours than mine, is a unique thing for the most part. But stumble into a Led Zeppelin forum, and a 13 year old claims to be the Queen of the Pagettes. ::shudder:: They're everywhere.
Onto find Jordan.

Wow, that's a really nice picture. Canes are sexy, as Bono clearly demostrates, and Jimmy looks good with a cane. And I like him next to Robert always. Oh, to have them.

Lux, are you contagious? Cause it appears I've caught your sniffle there.

Well... I will punish you then, but only severely.
Suddenly I have this desire to own a guitar like Jimmy's. How odd, being that he's retarded and can barely speak. He's not a bad salesman though. Maybe it's that I pity him that I want to own his guitar.
No, actually it's that popping one of the knobs reverses the phasing. That's the coolest little gadget I've ever heard of. On behalf of Jimmy, I thank you Joe Walsh.
Oh who am I kidding? He's a retard.

I'm so glad of what you'll do for me Lux. Although I'd never wish any kind of injury on you, no matter how minor. That is unless Bono orders me to.

I love the inspiration, particularly Robert.
I need some inspiration of my own.

Well, being that this reply box has been open for a while and now I've forgotten what I was going to say, I'll just abruptly change the subject.

I think I will and I will express my current state of mind. Which happens to be disoriented. Even better, I'll post visual aides all in the form of Bono.

Yes, I am disoriented:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Bono/myst.jpg
Bono looks disoriented. Disoriented. Like this: :] But more like Bono than that.

Furthermore, I have been agry with you insolent slave. Especially when you asked me to come up for air. Bono was mad too when I told him. Now Jimmy will suffer. Good one Lux.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/dreamsunwind/Bono/myst2.jpg

I just really like this photo. I guess you can say I'm pleased by this photo, and therefore myself feel the emotion that the photo itself is displaying.
