I really don't love any of them. If I had to choose for a matter of life and death, OSTOM would be my pick. It's all about setting the mood with the cover, and that one does it well.

I voted Belladonna. TISL is my second favorite.

If the mood happens to be one of stumbling over the folds of your dress. . . .

Bella Donna
I like Bella Donna the best, too. It's reminiscent of the Tusk Tour.

I showed The Wild Heart cover to a friend in 1983, & he said, "Why does she look successively dumber in each figure?"

And then there's Rock a Little, which features a Stevie kewpie-doll-on-a-stick. Are you supposed to twirl it between thumb & index finger?

I thought you said you prefer the 'Street Angel' cover, the last time this question was asked?

I thought you said you prefer the 'Street Angel' cover, the last time this question was asked?I hope I didn't say anything like that. Could I have said just "album"? I love those songs, but that frou-frou pink cover? Yeesh. It represents everything I detest about Stevie's fans.

Nope, it's definitely the Bella Donna cover I like the best. It's a ROCK star on the cover -- a rock star with charisma.

It's all about bone-crunching bass, drums & guitar, Stew. The farther Stevie gets from that, the closer she gets to Hallmark greeting cards. And when that happens, somebody help me pull the taffy outta my head.

I haven't liked this cover since I read on here somewhere, that she looks constipated

Besides, the RAL cover, it doesn't even look like her IMO!

Unfortunately this will probably end up steering Villavic's thread away from its original intentions, but may I ask about your comment, David?

Why is it that "Stevie fans" have become something to detest or treat with ridicule?
I mean, I admit I too cringe at some of the extremes people sometimes go to... but then, that's true of any fanbase, from everything I've ever observed.

Stevie is a woman who's always loved fairy-tales, glamour, romance, etc. So what's so wrong with her fans loving the same things?
Why does it automatically cast them as flighty people of a presumed lower-intellect? (I'm not implying that you've said "Stevie Fans" are of a lower-intellect... I'm just commenting on a common assumption I have seen.)

And why can Stevie not sing about those things without making people "cringe," and wish she'd be more down to earth?

I think this world has a lot of gruff, cynical people in it... people who actually boast about their jadedness as if it were a badge of honour. And who think you can't be intelligent if you don't view everything sardonically.

Must everyone be tough, angry, and aggressive?
I'm not saying we should all be passive dreamers with no drive or ambition... but isn't there something to be said, for not allowing this world to make you hardened?

I've worked hard to make sure that the things I've experienced, haven't turned me into a complete cynic.
I like finding the beauty in things, rather than just the ugliness.

I think that's yet another thing that's always drawn me to Stevie... she's a strong woman, and yet she still possesses a softness and gentleness.

Rock music is littered with "rrriot girls"... I like that Stevie stands out from the crowd.

(I should also note that I'm not saying that you're "gruff," "cynical," "jaded," etc... just that it surprises me that you're not more embracing/accepting of those who aren't. You've always struck me as someone who appreciates differences.)

Johnny Stew,I just want to let you know that I've been reading your posts for a long time (ever since the old ledge) and I really like the way you express yourself. Your post above is so true.

I have used a few different screen names around here (renee & nae) because of computer problems and the one I have now I got from someone around here calling Stevie fans Chiffon Heads. I think he was trying to put us down, but I thought it was funny. I guess I'm used to people putting down Stevie and her fans.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I really dig your attitude. Life can be pretty ugly, why not hold on to some beauty.

Good comments, Stew. All those years on Usenet made me gruff & jaded. It's a dog-eat-dog world over there.

My favorite is the Trouble In Shangri-La cover. I love the colours in it. I also like the The Other Side Of The Mirror cover a lot.

That's the Mirror cover, doll. She looks like she's really straining on the back cover...whoosh! On the RAL cover, her nostrils are so big that a 747 could fly into one of them.

My favorite is Bella Donna. She looks beautiful and the outfit is classic Stevie.

Especially with the likes of that crazy cracker roaming around who used to handle Stevie's fan mail. I never recovered from her posts, my friend.

I had to go with TISL. I love the colors and I love her look for this century more than any of her other looks. Bella Donna is very cool, though, so it definitely takes second.

Trouble in Shangri-La, with Rock a Little being a close second. The others are pretty bad, with the exception of Bella Donna.

I voted for TISL, because the colors are AMAZING. I just LOVE that cover photo. I wish some other photos from that set surface sometime.

However, I think my second favorite is TWH, just from a Photography Nerd aspect. I'm a whore for multiple exposures.

In fact, and this is me getting Off-Topic, last year in Photography, we had to do a multiple exposure. For those who don't know what it is, it's when the room is in complete darkness and you pose in a position and the flash goes off, recording it to the film. You move into a new position and repeat, while someone else holds the film advance down so the film stays on that exposure. We did that three times, and I "recreated" the cover of The Wild Heart, since I couldn't think of anything else to do. It's pretty neat & surreal. Yay, photography!

She looks pretty constipated on the Rock A Little cover, more so than TOSOTM, but she's still beautiful, even constipated

    If I were a singer, that would be what I would hope for the most--that my fans would think I was beautiful even when constipated. Who could ask for more?

RAL captures everything I love and hate about Stevie Nicks; the drama, the pose, the excess and the unintentional hilarity. ;)

Yes, what's up with that awkward pose?! I think the facial airbrushing on TOSOTM LP cover and the Rooms On Fire picture sleeve are dreadful-

For some reason I feel that the Rock A Little album cover is sort of a self-parody. Or a picture of her own 'rock star personality' rather than her own picture... you get this little doll submerged in a white, empty world. I think that's why I've liked it so much from when I saw it. It's not the most beautiful one (Bella Donna or Shangri La would get the title), but it's the one that I like the most.

Wait- is the TISL album cover a photo or a painting? I honestly can't tell. It looks a bit more like a painting to me.

It's a photograph, with some graphic elements added to make it a touch more surreal. :)

Like they did on the back of the booklet, eh? They attacked it so much with the airbrush that it doesn't even look like Stevie.

I was cleaning last night and came across my "Planets" vinyl and I thought that would have made a fantastic cover for the TISL album.
