This is a very superficial thread.
About clothes, do you like to buy a specific brand? or color? any particular store? Do you like to go alone or with someone to check how it fits?
...
I like to go alone, since I take a lot of time to decide what to buy. I like casual wearing, jeans, not any particular brand but Levi's, Guess, Zara, are cool.
Guess, Nautica and Polo have cool stuff. But I also like brands from Argentina, Brazil. Very cool stuff.
I don't like Tommy since there was a time everybody was wearing it, and it was like all people had a big sign on their body.. TOMMY. Besides I got tired of the red/white/blue stuff.
hummm.. I'm feeling like in the Madonna fashion days... (the 80s!)
You've got style, that's what all the girls say
Satin sheets and luxuries so fine
All your suits are custom made in London...

I'm very vintage and tend to shop at Goodwill and Gabes.......However, I do like to dress very preppie, so I rack up the dollar amount and Express For Me. I also worked at Old Navy for two years. There's a lot of GAP merchandise in my closet since ON is a part of that corporation.
So, I guess I don't fall "under a certain set of labels" :p

WHen I had money, I shopped a lot at Urban Outfitters, it was right by my work (but so was every other store - Union Square San Francisco) but that was bad cause i shoulda been buying work clothes, and Urban is more glamorous and strange...actually, no matter where i shopped it was hard for me to buy conservative work wear - I have Mars in Leo so i love more show offy clothes. And, I tend to buy more jewelry than clothes. Now that i'm poor i usually have to shop at Ross, if at all, and i get stuff from Victoria's Secret. Since i've gained the dreaded "30/15" (30 years old, 15 lbs  ) I don't have quite as much choice, but i still look basically the same, so....But i would shop anywhere, it just has to look good ON ME, whatever it is. I tend to get a lot of black, and shirts that are burgundy/maroon/purple/dark rose cause that's my best color... :wavey: I also don't think I wear patterns incredibly well - but people usually compliment my clothes and jewelry, so I think I have a good sense of what flatters me... :p much more than keeping up with latest styles or brands or whatever.

Well. Hm. I don't get that many shirts. I only have, like, 5 shirts or so that I wear on a weekly basis. And they're all dark colors. I just don't think I look good in colors that aren't black, dark red, dark blue, etc. *shrug*
When it comes to pants, I have my favorite pair and I wear those a lot (like right now). I really like the jeans that have those vertical stripe-type pattern... thing... going down the legs. If that makes any sense. There might be a name for it. Just light lines in the fabric that run vertically. Greg like.
I have one belt, and it's black with silver studs.
I have one pair of shoes, and I've had these since Freshman year (aka 3 years).
So yeah. I'm not much for change. :P

I shop at various places, mostly boutiques and hole-in-the-wall type stores, once in awhile I'll go to Penney's or Sears' outlet stores.
I live in leather pants.
I love sky blue button down shirts.
I wear black runners pants with white stripes going down the side a lot, too.
I don't do jeans very much, too much fabric.
I have TONS of shoes. All black. No loafers or sneakers.
I don't do ties or suits.
I have a couple of brown corduroy sports jackets that I wear occasionally.

I wear these colors the most too, and sometimes navy or red. I look like a sick lizard in greens, oranges, and yellows.
I dress very casually...jeanks, khakis, sweaters, pullovers, etc. I buy a lot of clothes at the Gap, Old Navy, and AE.

I have a thing for coats and long black sweaters and platform shoes. Go figure. :)
Some of my favorite places to shop:
For my day time clothes: Kenneth Cole, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and Talbots.
For everything else: Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Betsey Johnson, Coach, Sephora and the Victoria's Secret catalogue.
I liike to shop alone and have on occasion, shopped 'til I couldn't carry the bags anymore.
I like to shop online too.

I don't do jeans very much, too much fabric.
I used to live in jeans, but now I'm branching out more with pants of all different shapes, styles and colors--except red, I CANNOT bring myself to wear red pants. I don't know why.
I wear a lot of skirts of different lengths, but the mid-calf length is my favorite.
I really like accessories too: hats, scarves, belts, bags, jewelry, sh*t like that.
My favorite places to shop: The Gap, Urban Outfitters, J. Crew, American Eagle, Old Navy and the cool vintage/thrift store places on S. Congress Ave. here in Austin. However, my FAVORITE PLACE ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH is DSW Shoe Warehouse!!! I have a major shoe fettish :D .
I used to like Abercrombie and Fitch but now that I'm a ripe old 28 years old I've really started to get annoyed with the music they play in there at top volume. It's so loud you can't even hold a conversation! Plus I'm sick of being 'helped" by 21 year old frat rats with bad haircuts .

I don't usually buy clothes from a specific brand, I don't pay much attention to it. I like, however to buy them from catalogues and such, I get tired of searching around in stores pretty easily.
I wear mostly dark colors (black, dark blue, burgundy, etc.) but I also like light blue and red. Oh, and black and white combinations too.
I like to dress casually and I cannot live without jeans! :D I have so many pairs of them...

I'm a label whore. There, I've said it. I work at home and spend most of my time in t-shirts and shorts in the summer and sweats in the winter--yes, I live a glamorous life. But when I do get dressed up, it's in designer labels--DKNY, Liz Claiborne, Ralph Lauren--yes, I'm a name-dropper. I'd say that my personal style is pretty mainstream classic. I like to wear sweater sets with trousers or long skirts with boots in the winter and short sleeve tops or tanks with capris in the summer with sandals.
But I also love to shop and I love a good deal so I scour places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's and try to find designer clothing at discount. I really don't like paying full retail for anything if I don't have to. And Target just rocks beyond words for me. I'm totally in love with their whole new Shabby Chic line. I love how they get big-name designers to do low-price lines for them.
But my real weakness and alas, true addiction is purses. Again, since I only leave the house about 2-3 times a week, I have no idea why I need to own so many, but I do. I change them to match my outfits. And yes, I like the designer labels when it comes to purses too. It is staggering to think the money I have thrown down on Coach, D&B, Prada, Isabella Fiore, and the like over the years. I also collect vintage purses-Whiting and Davis mesh bags are my specialty. And I've got a few pieces of vintage jewelry too.
My other addiction is to bookstores. I'm there at least once a week where I scoop up every magazine that I don't already subscribe to and usually buy at least 2 or 3 books at a time.
Oh--and makeup--yes, once again, only the pricey stuff for this girly girl--Bobbie Brown, Aveda, Nars, Trish McEvoy, etc.--never mind that I only put makeup on when I leave the house which we've already established isn't very often!
And Chiffon Head that I am, yes, I do have a very nice collection of silk and velvet shawls, scarves, and wraps and such.
Okay--now we have established that I'm materialistic--which I try to balance out by being a liberal Democrat who gives freely to social causes. Sort of like how I buy Time and Newsweek to make up for the tabloids that I hide at the bottom of my bookstore haul pile when I go through the check-out.
Anyway, in short, I'd say that my fashion style is Jackie Kennedy meets Stevie Nicks. I'll have the expensive bag, the basic black dress, and then I'll throw on a fabulous print silk and velvet shawl wrap and wear it with a vintage necklace to give it that "me" look.

  Me, too...My nemesis is "mustard" the color. I used to hate orange, cause i am kinda orange, but i got this dress with, like orange and red pattern sort of crepe fabric (it's not as gross as it sounds, it's kind of swirly and flowery) and, inexplicable, even though there's orange, it looks pretty good on me!
I also look pretty good in green, cause my eyes have brown ring then green ring, and i have red in my cheeks...but otherwise, i'm with ya! :wavey:

Isabella Fiore,
Yes! I especially love to buy them at Nordstrom on clearance! I'm still meaning to buy the Madame Alex bag from like three years ago. They pop up every now and again on ebay. I like Lulu Guinness too. :)

Oh Gosh--Goldie---are you sure you and I aren't related? I want that same bag! I have Wilbur the Pig--yes, I paid $$$ for a purse featuring a big ole' sequined & beaded and embroidered pig on the side. That's my favorite--and yes, I like Lulu too but haven't brought one yet. That reminds me. . I need to go shopping. . . .

I love Barry Bricken - it is my fav by far for dressy casual http://www.barrybricken.com/bb/thecollections.php?c=m
I also love Ralph Lauren (usually the Purple Label) and Hugo Boss.
I have a few things in Prada, D&G, and Versace. The thing about the Italian designers is when they are on it is hard to beat them, but when they are off they look just trashy. Plus, I am FINALLY back at a weight where I do not look like a sausage in them
For suits, I usually buy Hickey-Freeman as that seems to fit my 6'4" 37 inch arm frame the best. I LOVE Brioni and Oxford, but they are harder to find the right fit.
Speaking of that, when you are my size, it is VERY hard to buy long sleeve shirts. The sleeves are usually just too short at 35-36 inches long.
My fav. store probably is Neiman Marcus and hopefully during their semi-annual HUGE sale. I also like Sak's, but the one here is only OK in selection for casual stuff. I LOVE this little mens clothing store right by my house that a friend of mine owns. They are a little more expensive, but I never have to wait, they are very very nice, and it is cool to have personalized service - sometimes we go to lunch and come back and finish!!!!
BTW - I can vouch for gldstwmn having FABULOUS taste in clothing. We have shopped together on more than one occasion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We may not agree on politics--but you have have picked my favorite designers for men. And you've got some seriously expensive taste there my friend! It's tough for the very tall and the very short to find clothes that fit correctly. I'm 5'3, my Mom is 5'1, I've got a cousin who is 5'2, and an Aunt who is 5'0 and even petitie clothing sometimes needs to be altered. Then on the other extreme, I've got an Uncle who is 6'6, and a cousin who is 5'11 (female), and my sister-in-law is 5'11". These folks also report having a horrible time trying to find clothes that fit them correctly.

I adore shopping.
I don't go for labels, ever. I just buy what feels good.
I just go to the malls. I am not very original. I like the Gap, Ny and Co and stores like that. I shop the occassional Target as well ( the t is SILENT folks)
I have no problems. I am 5'9 ,which is average anymore and everything fits. I have a hard time with the shirts. If I go to a little cheap no name store that has cute shirts for cheap, they won't fit. I have a chest and wider shoulders and so that can be frustrating.
MY best friend is 5'10 and weighs under 110, or just at sometimes. She is all legs and she can't ever find anything. She is forced to by pants in NY because she basically needs model pants. I don't envy her at all. I can go to GAP and ALWAYS find jeans that fit perfectly.
Shopping is fun. I just went on Thursday and got jeans at Gap and underwear at Victorias Secret ( I love that place, 5 for $20!!) and this great red purse that I have wanted so long and hot boots from Payless. I spent under $200 but got nice stuff. No one cares what label...just how it looks. If I were rich and if they didn't take all my credit cards away from me ( :( ) then I'd shop everyday. I really could.
