I can't stand her. Others I don't like:

Ben Affleck- I find him very bland and he went out with J Lo

Halle Berry- She just seems superficial and she drives me nuts and her movies usually suck

Oh, I have so many that I'd have to get back to you at a later date for some of them.

These pop into my mind-

Laura Schlessinger
Laura Ingraham
Willa Ford
Brad Paisley
Aaron Carter
Tim McGraw
Chuck Norris
Avril Lavigne
Steve Warnier
Joyce Meyer
Naomi Judd
John and Anne Paulk
James Dobson
Charlie Daniels
Anne Coulter

Okay, so none of these people are celebrities in the way that J.Lo is, but they're all famous for one reason or another. And I have to say that I don't really hate most of them, I just find them all extremely annoying.

Ahem...yeah...so it's McLachlan...not McLaughlin....I know you (obviously) don't like her...but the mis-calling her McLaughlin has become SUCH a pet peeve of mine... I need therapy.....

Celine Dion - the worst, ever. Just die, already....
 Didn't you know someone was going to protest that? Come on, much of her French material is amazing. The vast majority of the popular English material is substandard and annoying (not vocally, just musically). Of course, I can't deny that as a person, she can be hard to take. But I do love that French stuff, particularly Dion Chante Plamondon and D'eux. But, of course, it's just my opinion. Honestly, I can understand why others don't care for her that much.

And Michael's not all that bad, I'm sure I've told the story of how he paid for my jerky at a smoke shop in Vermont a million times. But he hasn't made a decent movie in YEARS. Celebs I Despise:

Hootchie Spears- Ignorant, egotistical, rude, selfish, and annoying. Strong argument for birth control.

Avril Lavigne- Yeah, your music is just so deep.

Christina Aguilera- For some reason, I thinks she suffers from lice and may have possibly been a man.

Adam Sandler- Watch him in interviews, he's as stupid and dense as he is in his movies. He has never made me laugh once.

Katie Couric- Never trust a woman who shows you the inside of her ass on national television. And her brow lift couldn't be more obvious.

Matt Lauer- The skinhead look does not suit ya, asshole.

Dr. Phil- He's dispensing weight loss advice? Yeah, because we all want to look like Phil.

Oprah- Because she gave us Phil.

Hillary Duff- Oy vey. Oy vey. Indescribable.

Britney Spears. Stupid bimbo who wore out her welcome years ago! You were cute 4 years again, Now your just annoying. Madonna SHAME ON YOU!
Joan Rivers. Umm... NO comments
Oprah. BORING!
Paris Hilton - Cute, yes. But I hate looking at people who get rich by doing absolutly nothing. Jealous? DAMN RIGHT!
Hilary Duff I think I would eat a big ole bucket of **** before I listen to on of her "Candy Pop" tunes.
Justin Timberlake Where to begin, White Michael Jackson, O wait thats a little redundant. Let me try again, The Black Michael Jackson. I am so sick of seeing him on everything. PLZ do me a favor and just die, you stupid Mickey Mouse trash!
Dubya Does he count, I guess since hes the president it can count..... Again no comments

So many... I'll keep the list short:

- Britney Spears - I really, really don't understand how she became so popular (besides the outrageous, obnoxious clothes), she really isn't much of a singer. She gave a concert here a few months ago, wich was broadcasted on tv, and from what I heard from people attending the only thing she did was lip-synch.

- Christina Aguilera

- Jennifer Lopez

- Hillary Duff - anoying...

- Celine Dion

She has CD that came out in '98 called "I'm Still Here, Dammit!" and it has a HILARIOUS segment about her and Stevie and their lesbian affair, then she sings a song about Stevie and her afghans. And it has a cover of "Midnight Train To Georgia" that is just amazing. What a fab voice. Rush out and get it you haven't heard, it's one of my faves.

I, too, think Halle Berry, while pretty, is a bland, boring, banal actress. She's a Leo, but strangely, there's no fire in her eyes. Bleah!

I think it's funny that alot of us have similar sentiments...

Paris Hilton - She's probably a nice girl but she has this annoying habit of just constantly
cocking her head in this posing kind of way!!!
Julia Roberts - It's my opinion that she's an overated actress. Also, I can't stand it when
celebrities whine about the papparazzi. Julia is one of these. In the meantime, her publicist
is negotiating for a cover of Vogue. It just doesn't make sense to me. The only cool thing
Julia Roberts ever did was marry Lyle Lovett and she blew that too!
Julia Stiles - Julia Roberts Jr.
Adam Sandler - overated
John Stosil 20/20 - annoying
Shannen Doherty - drunk and immature
Tara Reid - overated

Celebs you might think I'd find intolerable but I don't.

Jessica Simpson - Don't care for her singing but I think she's hilarious on her show.
She's just so absurd I crack up and I really can't knock anyone
who makes me laugh.
Britney Spears - She's probably a nice girl. She CAN dance, she does have some
talent and she IS very young. I actually feel kinda sorry for her...
I have a feeling that she is a victim of having a pushy stage mother
who thrust her into the whole entertainment machine.

AMberI thought Julia Roberts was really great in
Mary Reilly. It certainly wasn't her typical role. I remember thinking that Angelina Jolie was good in Girl, Interrupted, but it's been so long since I've seen it that she not have really been all that great. Anyway, I agree about J.Lo. She was good in To Die For. Also I liked her in Malice. I guess in the cold roles I think she's believable. She's ok, her eyes just don't nail it for me. How could I forget Eyes Wide Shut? thank god, someone said it. I can't stand Jennifer Garner either, and Ryan Seacrest needs to take it down a few notches.

The celebrities I can't stand:
Madonna-- sorry, she's seen her day and it's passed her by. Either concentrate on music or get out, the sex thing is, to quote Stevie, tired.

J.Lo-- She can't sing she can't act....maybe she should have just stuck to dancing.

Brittany Spears-- Someone put this child out of her misery and fast!

Halle Berry-- The woman cannot act, and don't give me Monster's Ball because I can name 10 people who could have done a better job in that role.

Tom Cruise-- His toothy grin makes me want to punch his toothy teeth out. He's an arrogant, bloated-headed, Hollywood actor who probably could be good if not for his huge ego and bad film choices.

Lance Armstrong-- Ya know, I'm glad that he won 6 times and that he survived cancer and everything, but I have to tell you I'm sick of seeing his mug all over Austin, and everyone treating him like he's the freakin' messiah come to save us all on a ten speed bike. Britney Spears - You can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park outta the girl....

Celine Dion - Ugh!

I adore Nicole Kidman - I think she's one of the finest actresses of our day! And the way she handled herself during her divorce - pure class!

Lance Armstrong- seems like he's not very bright - but I do love him. :p

I love Sandra Bernhard too - but her singing gets on my nerves. She sings off-key more than "on."

Hmmm, who else can I not stand? Oprah - only because I don't like how she brags about how she can buy 1000 thread count sheets and the first thing she splurged on when she got money was nice towels, etc., etc. Someone even wrote to her about how they didn't like that either - Oprah read their letter on the air - during one of her fan mail shows- the fact that she tries to relate to her audience on a level NONE of them will ever be able to afford!

Double blasphemy! Her acting seems a little more forced when she's speaking English, naturally. There's the issue of trying to remember words that don't come naturally.

I loved the acting in The Human Stain (also because Anthony Hopkins is my absolute favorite  ), but I think the movie needed a director with a little more courage.

Dogville is wonderful, Lars Von Trier has outdone himself and Nicole Kidman has been able to tranform her role in an icon. And Young Americans at the end was a great touch :D . She would deserve another Oscar for it, but I'm not sure the Academy can digest such an uncompromising film.

About Penelope Cruz, I'm not a great fan of hers, but she's recently given a beautiful performance in an Italian movie called Non ti muovere, that here has won every possible award. She could have with it some Oscar chances too, IMO.

I thought Hopkins was miscast. :sorry: I was a HUGE fan of the book (I even have my copy signed by the author and in plastic) and think it's one of the great American novels. He was good, but there was just something that didn't click; he didn't have that nervous intensity that I was looking for. Kidman was breathtaking, though, and Ed Harris was fabulous (as always).

Dogville has quickly become one of my favorite movies, everything about it is perfect. I think at the most she'll get nominated for it. The Oscars are notorious popularity contests, so they'll just give it to the star who was in the highest profile movie. I mean, I'm still shocked that Julia Roberts won for "Erin brockovich" over Ellen Burstyn in "Requiem For A Dream," which I consider the best performance ever put on film. And I also can't believe Cher won for "Moonstruck" over Sally Kirkland for "Anna." Such travesties.

Want to know something even scarier?

I. Own. It.

I really like Melanie Griffith (can we say "Something Wild"?), but that movie was the biggest stinkbomb ever.

I KNOW!!! Doesn't it just make you want to vomit??!!? And can anyone say "Training Day?" 'cause I think his new movie has been made before (and probably better) with Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke.
Nothing with Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke is better than something with Tom Cruise. I think he's hot, and i love him.

My thoughts exactly. She can act up a storm, she just chooses ****ty projects. I doubt her career will ever recover from the debacle that is Catwoman.
THat's one boring storm, my friend - and even if she is acting well, it's still boring....

I thought she was superb in Monster's Ball and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.

I can't believe she's starring in the remake of Foxy Brown, though. I love my Pam Grier.

I'm a huge fan of the book too (so much that I try to convince everybody I know to read it :D) and I loved Tony in the movie, but it's not my favorite performance of him. He tends to give more with directors who know how to challenge his insecurities (like Oliver Stone, or Julie Taymor).

I haven't seen Anna, but Ellen Burstyn in Requiem for a Dream created an unforgettable work of art  . Another case, in which Academy voters preferred to go ridicolously safe, like in 1997, with the infamous triumph of The English Patient, preferred to Fargo and Secrets & Lies :distress: .

 I find that Hopkins is at the top of his game when there's a fabulous director onboard. If not, he just goes through the motions and collects the check.

You MUST see Anna, Sally Kirkland was unforgettable. That ending...oh my lucky stars. And The English Patient was sheer torture.

Tom Cruise. If I ever have to view that toothy grin again, it will be too soon.

Michael Douglas just makes me want to bathe every time I see him.... and coupled with Catherine Zeta-Jones (who I also can't stand) is just too much of an annoyance to bear.

Brad Pitt

Mel Gibson

The list can go on and on....

Ooooh, I forgot about Michael Douglas and Mel Gibson! Everytime I see or hear about Mel Gibson now I think of the South Park episode that totally (excuse the pun) crucified him! Gotta love those guys...
