Do you all believe in this superstition? I usually don't, but it's 10:45 am here and already 3 car-related things have happened:
1. My mother had to have her car towed in to the shop this morning because it was dead when she got in it.
2. My sister's airbag light kept coming on and the service guy told her that she shouldn't be driving it because the airbag could deploy at any time while she was driving.
3. One of my co-workers just called on his way to the hospital. His wife had just totaled her car and was in an ambulance.
I'm afraid to drive now!

Usually I'm not superstitious about it, but Hurricane Charley is expected to hit where I used to live today. I still have a lot of friends in the Tampa/Clearwater area and I'm worried about them. Hopefully it'll be a lucky Fri. the 13th for them and the storm will turn. But it's not looking good.

It had totally escaped my mind that it is Friday the 13th until just now. :o

I was born on the 13th. It wasn't a Friday though--but I've always loved Friday the 13th's.

My older sister was born on Friday the 13th. Since then, my family has always called it a lucky day. :)

Remember what I said earlier? I've changed my mind. I live about an hour from the South Carolina coast and we're now under a Tropical Storm watch/warning for the inland areas (where I'm at) and they've got Hurricane watches/warnings posted for the entire coastline! Pretty much the entire state is in full panic mode right now!

Geez, I hope everyone is going to be ok. I don't usually think about this day, but from reading y'all's misfortune, I dunno...
If San Francisco and Oakland get The Big One (earthquake) today, I will believe. If not, I'l chalk up others misfortune to Mercury retrograde, or something...

Yeah--I'm a Virgo and that Mercury retrograde bites me in the ass every time it happens! I should have known that something like this would happen!
They're saying anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of rain for us and perhaps 30-60 mph winds--and I'm about an hour from Myrtle Beach (the coast). At least it will be during the day--Hugo hit in 1989 at night and you couldn't see what was going on--only hear it.

I'm afraid to drive now!So it's not just my family and friends with the car problems on Friday the 13th?
My mom got a ticket today.
My best friend's car is acting up--it won't accelerate properly. (Doesn't want to go over 20 mph).
Today I failed the freaking road test for the
4TH time. I'm so ready to pull my hair out about that one. I've practiced my ass off. But every time I get in the car for the road test, I can't stand to have someone scrutinizing everything I do, and so I screw up because of nervousness. I think this is a result of the first time I took the test, because the woman who gave me the test yelled at me, which made me screw up more. I think I'm scarred. Oh, this is embarrassing.
Anyway, your list still has mine beat, I must say, Patti.

I actually didn't notice it was Friday the 13th... I'm not too supersticious though. I guess I haven't got a reason to, yet.

Yes, I just heard (and saw) it on the news. It is pretty bad! I hope you are all all right!

We're fine in South Carolina. We didn't get anything like what they had predicted for us inland and the beach had damage but nothing severe--thank God! Poor Florida really got it though--
