10th row for $44 - can't beat it! I do have pics, but can't post them yet due to computer trouble. This is long, feel free to skim...
She was unbelievable! If you get the chance to see her, DO IT! Cyndi has more energy now in her 40's than I have at age 29. She was literally leaping across the stage, dancing, stomping her feet, all while singing beautifully (take THAT you Britneys/J.Lo's/whoever defends lip syncing due to their dance routines being too exhausting to sing at the same time!)
The woman tore it up for 2 full hours in The University at Buffalo's Center for the Arts (I think it seats 1500, tops - it was about 3/4 full.) She started in black Manalo pumps for "At Last" (great, but Stevie's is still better, lol.) After that, she whipped off her shoes & did most of the rest of the show barefoot. She talked with people in the audience between songs, sat down on the stage for a tune, crawled up & down the stairs, jumped up onto the piano for a while, & ran up the aisles in the audience several times (she was 3 or 4 rows directly in front of us at one point.) LOTS of audience interaction, it was great. Lots of hand shaking, hugs & accepting gifts. She actually laid across some people's laps for a few lines of a song.
She plays a lot of instruments too, which I never realized. Guitar & at least 2 other string instuments (forgive my ignorance, one was the flat box you set on a table & strum {harpsichord?} & the other looked like a double violin that she set on her lap & played {I've never seen this before}) plus some percussion too.
She did some new stuff from At Last (title track, Stay, Misunderstood...can't think of the others right now.) And some of her "newer" tunes (Sisters of Avalon, Shine.) The hits were the best - Money Changes Everything & Change of Heart (my fave) rocked HARD! She said "you can sing along to this one, it's French" & did a hilarious version of SheBop, with violin & accordian like a slow French ballad. All Through the Night & Time After Time - beautiful. I Drove All Night was very sexy, I like her version SO much better than Celine's remake.
She spoke about Ture Colors before she sang it, saying that Ann Murray turned it down first  (everyone chuckled at that one, including Cyndi,) and dedicated it to a good friend who died a while back from AIDS, all the while holding the rainbow pride flag. Lots of tears for that one. :distress: Girls Just Wanna...was at the end, made a bit more tolerable by having several audience members (many little girls) up on stage to dance & sing along.
Sorry so this is so long, but I was just so impressed by her performance. I would see her again in a heartbeat. And I will be buying the DVD ASAP! Highly recommended.
