Okay, I was reading that old article where Stevie bashes Madonna and Brit for kissing each other on television last year and it mentions something about Nicks and J Lo being friends. Is this true? It seems a little out of character for Stevie to say that "J Lo told Madonna to kiss something else!" Really funny though!
Britney kiss angers Nicks
By Nui Te Koha
STEVIE Nicks rates the notorious Madonna-Britney kiss as the most obnoxious television moment ever.
"First of all, Madonna is too old to be kissing someone who is 22," the Fleetwood Mac singer told the Herald Sun.
"And Britney should be smarter than that. Hopefully, she will figure a way out of this hole she has dug for herself."
Original rock chick Nicks, 55, said Spears and Christina Aguilera should wear more clothes and try writing decent songs.
"I personally have never been to a strip club, but I turn on MTV and see in every single video what it must be like to be at a strip club," Nicks said.
"I think the mystery is gone, and if you have no mystery, then you aren't even sexy.
"Real sexuality and sensuality is in the music, and all these girls, vis-a-vis, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and on and on, should go back to writing songs and start over because it won't last and they won't last.
"When they are 55, they won't be around and that's sad because I think a lot of those girls are very talented. But they are signing their own death warrants."
Nicks was appalled by Madonna's publicity stunt kiss with Spears at the recent MTV Awards.
"I thought it was the most obnoxious moment in television history," she said.
"Madonna will be fine. Madonna is Madonna. She does what she wants. She will get over this. But will Britney get over it? I don't know."
Nicks revealed Madonna asked Jennifer Lopez to be in the smoochy routine, but J.Lo told Madge to kiss something else.
Nicks is the ultimate rock survivor, weathering drug addictions, depression and a tumultuous relationship with Lindsey Buckingham.

I don't know if she is or not. I can imagine she would have to be in order to know about J Lo saying that, but then again, gossip might just travel fast among famous people. I think it would be great if they were friends though.

That information was publicly available in the states. But, I think La Nicks was abroad when that interview came out and she was interviewed abroad as well. So, who knows how she found out about J Lo. It is possible they are friends and that they met through Sheryl Crowe who accoring to La Nicks knows "everyone."

Seriously though, I agree with what she said about less being more and the fact that the whole thing was a ridiculous publicity stunt, but Madonna being too old to kiss someone who is 22? Maybe that was a joke, but then it's not funny, so maybe not. What's she got against the concept of an older person dating a younger person, or just kissing the person?
Well, sorry I don't have any insight to offer on whether or not she's friends with J.Lo.

I don't think they're actually friends. Correct me if i'm wrong but Stevie and Madonna share the same publicist...Liz Rosenberg. I wonder if Liz said something to Stevie about it, never dreaming she'd come out and dis Madonna. However, since it was an article from overseas, Stevie probably never thought twice about it. Hell. Liz probably thought the whole thing up

Actually, you have your J-Lo songs mixed up. You know that gruff sounding voice on the "I'm Real" remix?
Well let's just say that it isn't really Ja-Rule.

I don't think she would have a problem with two people of different ages who were actually in love, but this is different- it was pure sexual shock value and sort of nasty.
I wonder if Stevie would ever hookup with a young guy ala the Demi Moore/Ashton Kutcher relationship. That would be sort of cool I think!

You have a point there. I shouldn't have been comparing real relationships to the Britney/Madonna stunt.

I think the shippers have gotten to me, because something in me is saying she ought to be with Lindsey. I've let them get into my head! :o But I have this thing for Bob Welch moreso then Lindsey, so I think it would be cool to see them together, too. I don't suppose that's a very popular viewpoint.

THE HORROR.
If they got together, what would she have to write about ? And what would happen to the onstage shtick ? Then there's that whole messy wife and children thing.

Well, I can't say that I have a huge problem with the wife and kids thing, although I have a feeling she does. Oh, you mean his wife and kids! Yeah, that could get ugly. As for the onstage shtick, I haven't seen any of that that I've actually enjoyed. I can't take most of that stuff she does when she performs "Say You Will," especially during the instrumental part. As for not having anything to write about, I was actually pondering that the other day. Stevie doesn't really have very many songs about being happy and in love. It's never like "I'm with the person I've always wanted to be with and I'm so friggin' happy now." It never seems to come close to that. I would be delighted if she wrote songs like that, but I guess it would have to be happening for her in real life first. In addition to that, she can still write about her relationship with Mick, and do stuff like "Desert Angel." :]
(I'd been hoping for a chance to use that emoticon, but I still don't know if it truly conveys my feelings for "Desert Angel." I'm not sure if there's an emoticon out there for that).

It is. ;) I'm sick of the canned speeches, the robotic movements, the same silly dances, and the stupid soap opera bull****. To be honest, it's a waste of money.
