No idea. Local radio stations are giving away tickets and have Stevie listed as a performer. I dunno the station or the site. I'm doing some searching.

Here's the site: planetfm.com Click in the David Bowie box. Ticketmaster is selling tickets for this event, but don't have her listed as a guest, but this site does. Here's an insert:
Tell us what songs you like best and you'll be registered to jet to New York to see David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart and others at the Fashion Rocks! Concert at Radio City Music Hall! That's free airfare, hotel and tickets for one random Planet Music Panelist who completes our music survey before the entry deadline. You and a friend could be off to the Big Apple!

That's news to me, Curtis, but it's always possible!
Hopefully she'll perform there and hopefully it'll be broadcast on VH1 so we can all see it. :D

I'd sell my soul to see her and Bowie sing "Under Pressure" together. But that'll never happen.
Thanks for the info!

I can't find any news on Stevie performing there, but everything else is accurate and, from what I gather, it will be filmed and broadcast on Fox on September 26th. ;)

I'm surprised that Bowie is going to be well enough to perform there.

Seeing as they're going to be here in New Jersey on the 10th and the 12th, It's definately possibly. Thanks for the heads up

I don't think they'd credit her in the billing if she were just there to introduce, do you?
Maybe at most they'd say "A special appearance by..."

According to ticketmaster these artists will be there, too:
Featuring: Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Hoobastank, Mary J. Blige, Avril Lavigne, Rod Stewart, Usher, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill and more...
They all can't perform, I wouldn't think....
That one site is a classic rock station....probably why Stevie was mentioned with Bowie and Stewart.

Dare I ask, what the hell is a Hoobastank? Never mind, I'm probably better off not knowing.

From the link I posted above:
On September 8, Hoobastank will play Fox's "Fashion Rocks" special. The event will be recorded at New York City's Radio City Music Hall for later television broadcast on September 26. "Fashion Rocks" looks at how rock music influences fashion and culture and, besides Hoobastank, other artists taking part in the special include David Bowie, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Rod Stewert, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Ron Wood, Mary J. Blige and Faith Hill.
There's no mention of Stevie anywhere. I suspect this is BS, just like the Vegas shows listed on VH1.com.

I guess if it's a classic rock station promoting, they're going to use classic rock artists. She's probably just introducing then.

Well if she isn't performing I hope that she won't be just introducing someone less talented! How humilliating for the queen of rock and roll to introduce some teenybopper! Why shouldn't she get to rock out and why would it be so suprising for her to be at the top of the list?

My local radio station is giving away tickets to Fashion Rocks and are saying that Stevie will indeed be there. My husband heard the ad last week on 100.7 promoting it with Stevie performing and he thought the contest started this week.

According to this - she ain't performing...maybe that radio station heard a rumour about a special award being given to Stevie - or that she's included in some video montage or something like that - 'cause she IS a rock and roll fashion icon, after all! That is, when she actually CHANGES her clothes. :p
NEW YORK (AP) - Beyonce, Rod Stewart and Usher will take the stage in a multidimensional media event that's part performance, part magazine and part museum exhibit to celebrate the relationship between fashion and music.
The Fashion Rocks event, created by the Conde Nast Media Group, includes a supersized concert - billed as "an extraordinary evening of style and sound" - at Radio City Music Hall on Sept. 8, the start of New York Fashion Week.
Andre 3000, Avril Lavigne, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill, Hoobastank and the Black Eyed Peas are also scheduled to perform. The concert will air Sept. 26 as a prime-time two-hour special on Fox.
A collector's magazine supplement on music's impact on fashion will be included in subscription copies of the October issues of 12 Conde Nast and Fairchild magazines including Vogue, W, Vanity Fair and Cargo.
"Today's fashion trend-makers are musicians. Entire fashion movements have been inspired by bands and individuals," said Bob Love, Rolling Stone founding music editor. The Fashion Rocks supplement was created under Love's editorial direction.
There also will be a monthlong exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland.
"It is a great opportunity for our company to create a cohesive integration of a single concept and extend it across all mediums at the same time - from print to live to on-air," Richard Beckman, president of the Conde Nast Media Group, said Wednesday.

Anyone watch this last nite? She didn't perform - she wasn't even there - Well, I guess she was in spirit - they had the stage decorated with rock star outfits - Stevie's peach-colored outfit and beige boots, circa 1979, got a lot of camera time, on the right side of the screen whenever someone was at the microphone on that side of the stage...I'll attach a pic if I can find one...
Really lame show - they didn't even include a shot of Stevie in their 70's montage. However, it was worth watching for Mary J. Blige (love!) - she did an exceptional performance of "Piece of My Heart," and later, "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word." Alicia Keys rocks my world too - she did "Heartburn," one of my faves on her latest album.
:wavey:
Okay - this is the pic I was thinking of when I saw the outfit...
