So - my last days at NPR are coming to a close...

The show that I was managing editor for has premiered and I'm pretty much done (it was a show called Intern Edition put together by all us interns)

It was a big hit...and I'm exited..

Anyway, yesterday I got to meet Mel Brooks! I was so excited, it was really cool watching Susan Stamberg to the interview..and he was very nice, very cool...and he let me take a photo with him on the elevator (he was in a hurry to leave...or rather his publicists were in a hurry to get him out - he was very friendly and social haha...)

He tousled my hair after our meeting...and went on his merry way...

It was exciting for me...I'm attaching the picture of us....:)

When I read the thread title I thought you meant Mel Blanc, and I kept thinking I know he's dead. :shocked:

LOL...no..my sister asked the same question!! haha..unfortunately I'm one of the newer Mel fans which means I'm more versed in the worlds of Space Balls and Robin Hood Men in Tights...though I did enjoy Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety...

But yeah...and I wasn't going to include this, but now feel it may be too amusing to not bring up...

I was leaning against the wall of the elevator with my hands resting on the elevator rails. When I asked me for the picture he said, "Sure!" and backed up to stand next to me..only one issue...when he backed up he did so right in to my hand...so I totally (and accidentally) touched Mel Brooks' ass....maybe that's why he tousled my hair the way he did haha...

How funny about accidentally groping Mel!! :laugh: When I saw Mel B...I immediately thought you meant from the Spice Girls. LOL I liked them, sue me.

AAAAhhhhhh! You're so lucky! You and Mel look cute. Too bad about not singing the inquisition song :laugh: . My best friend in seventh grade drew a picture of that scene on the back of my yearbook, we had laughed about it so much. How fun! When i first read the post I thought you meant Mel. B. from the spice girls :p and i was like "that's weird. who cares about her?" :laugh:

Congrats Deannna! Mel Brooks is a genious....I loved him on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" this year! Larry and Mel...was a combo....

For all you "Robin Hood Men in Tights" fans, my unlce met Richard Lewis on a plane and he told him how him and I watch him on Curb and all that good stuff, and how we loved him in robin hood, and he said, "Wow, Someone actually saw that movie?!" LMAO!!!! :laugh: He is too funny!

I love Robin Hood: Men in Tights!! "Unlike other Robin Hoods, I can speak with an English accent." LMAO!! RH: POT is one of my fave movies so watching for all the in jokes is greatness!!
