Who do you think was the scariest horror movie villan? Jason? Freddy Krueger? Chucky?!
For me it's Pinhead from the Hellraiser films. He? scares the **** out of me. I always thought he was going to appear in my room.

Exorcist, But I love the Omen movies (For some reason I liked the 3rd Omen movie, Where Damien comes into 'power'.)
Seriously, My favorite 'scary' villian from a movie is "Randall Flagg" from "The Stand" (Jamie Sheridan was outright scary as "RF").

And in the 1st, how do you beat a cast that has Gregory Peck & Lee Remick?

When I was a summer RA in college we rented The Exorcist & The Muppet Movie. Foolishly we watched The Exorcist second, and afterwards we all dragged our mattresses into the living room because nobody wanted to go back to his/her room. :)
BTW, she's not scary in the least, but Ruth Gordon in Rosemary's Baby is one of my favorite movie villains. "Did she eat the mouse (mousse)?"

 Agreed. My ex-brother-in-law does a great impersonation of Gregory Peck in that movie, it still makes me laugh when I think about it.
I think the scariest horror villan of all time has got to be Leatherface from TCM. Imagine being chased by that guy all night....yikes. I also think the "evil spirit" from Evil Dead is creepy mainly because you can't see, hear, or feel it!!
And good choice Tommer, Zelda is totally creepy!! I forgot about that movie, thanks for the reminder.

Without a doubt - the demon in the Exorcist!
Yikes! Zelda! "You'll never get out of bed again!"
I think vampires are kinda hot, in a creepy sorta way...
Sharks! Orca the killer whale didn't scare me at all...but Jaws? Ay caramba!
The clown from "It." I don't like clowns anyway.

Carrie's mom freaked me out a lot...and i was really freaked out when I saw this one Dirty Harry movie when i was younger. The killer left weird little dolls at the scene....*shudder* Cause it was more real-life, the creature/monster ones don't scare me much. Although i always thought it would suck to be in Freddy's sight, cause then you can't sleep, you develop a meth habit, you're life spirals downhill, etc...

 Now that's partially why i like it so much. I love watching things "in the future" (which is now) and tripping out on how it looked then. Like, the other day, I was watching Hawaii 5-0, i'd never seen it before, and it was actually pretty good, but it looked different, and it wasn't filmed in the quick cut style i'm used to, the characters actually had speeches, and they took their time throughout the scene for the story exposition...it just struck me as very slow and still compared to now, and i liked it. Also special guest appearance by the guy who played Detective Frank Lugar on Barney Miller was a plus :D Ok, off subject, sorry :o

My parents pointed out that the witch was just the old Maxwell House lady, and after that she wasn't scary to me any more. Just seemed caffeine deprived.
Kathy B. was great. Hard to believe Roseanne turned down the part. She would have had to strip in the movie to be that scary.

Another scary figure I like is King Diamond, Only thing is King isnt a movie villain but a Black Metal music legend & his DVD extra in his latest album release "The Puppet Master" is eerie (King is wearing full makeup & talking in his creepy voice, But still a cool DVD) to say the least.

I saw the new one.....and I could never sleep the same since, LOL! I remember going to see it in a JAMMED PACKED theater, and the sound of that chainsaw on surround sound blasting all around you was enough to scar you for life! I've never seen the original, but from what I've heard, the new one was a little gorier. It made me sick a couple of times, and EVERYONE left that movie pale, LOL! (I had to look around to see everyones reation, and even my friends left disturbed!)
"Jaws" is just classic. Not the robotic shark, but the music. The music IS the shark! I think it was Paula Poundstone, she said something like: "Could you imagine swimming with the soundtrack of "Jaws" playing? I kick myself in the water and Im already freaking out!" LOL! I live in Miami, so shark attacks aren't really scary to me. In fact, we go snorkeling with them all the time. You just gotta know which ones to stay away from (Great White*not around here, but still*, Tiger, Bull, Hammerhead).
Now, now, lets behave with the Bush bashing....Cause John Kerry looks like an extra from "Night of the Living Dead". zombie! :D

The doll thing from "Child's Play" terrified me when I firs saw it - I had to put all my dolls in the loft - I couldn't sleep with them in the same room.... but I was young then.
And when I was very young the "Day of The Triffids" scared me... but I was only about 4 and I've never seen it since... was it even a film?? or was it a series.... anyway it was in black and white and I remember hiding my face in my teddy at the scary bits :p

You reminded me, I had this fear of this thing in one of the those '70s PBS series that used to talk about things like Bigfoot. Anybody remember what show I mean? Not "In Search Of..." but it aired around that time & had a narrator as well. In one spot this person goes to sleep over a hundred years ago & wakes up to see this hooded figure in black with a really white face. The person screams & wakes up the other person in the room, who sees the figure disappear behind a grandfather clock. The second person describes what happens to others because the first person has died of fright after all his/her hair turned white. After seeing this as a kid I was scared of opening my eyes when I woke up at night because there might be something hiding in the room that would scare me to death. (Hi, Marissa. :wavey: )
I know it's not from a movie, but the other post just reminded me of this fear.

Norman Bates. The first time I tried to watch that movie I couldn't get through it and quit about 10 minutes before the end (when I later figured that out I was annoyed...but my mom and I tried to watch it at night with the window open and it was windy and...). I had to lock the door whilst showering and peak out every one and a while. Now I can get through it and quite enjoy it. But what's creepy about him is that he doesn't get everything he's doing and that it's wrong cuz uh...his nuts.
"We're all a little mad some times"
I laughed at most of Carrie until the end when the arm sticks out of the ground cuz I just wasn't ready for that. I literally jumped and my friend laughed at me.
