How many say this will happen? Are we ever going to see it or are we getting shafted once again?

Well I do believe that he really plans to do it now.
But I only believe it really happening if I am holding my copy of it in my greedy hands. For the record: If it gets released I don`t see it happen before 2006. And I surely hope I am wrong!

How many say this will happen? Are we ever going to see it or are we getting shafted once again?Who would release it? Who would want to release it? It's a sure-fire 45,000 seller.

After playing guitar in front of screaming, adoring fans for 14 months, Lindsey undoubtedly thinks his fanbase has grown by leaps & bounds. So the bug to release solo music has bitten him once again (I bet we'll hear him say, "It's the best music I've ever done" . . . again).

I think it's a premature sense of capability affecting Fleetwood Mac. Big, splashy, successful tours can instill all sorts of false hopes in you -- whether you're the fan or the performer.

It sounded to me like he's excited to have new material again after getting past a certain period of writer's block. Had the band been ready to go back into the studio this Fall, it sounded to me like he actually would have been fine with putting that material toward FM. But they probably won't be, so he's working toward something solo.

Will we get it? Don't know. Hope springs eternal. ;)

I think he would do it. David is that correct 45k for his albums? Wow I thought it would be even more.

My guess would be no. He doesn't even have a record label to release his solo stuff right now.

I totally believe him when he says that he's had a LOT of inspiration over the past year (touring around the world tends to do that to someone), and if/when we get this material will be on the final Fleetwood Mac album they have yet to complete to satisfy their contract with Warner Bros./Reprise.

50 50 - I think he has a significant number of songs completed. If he can finish the new material by Dec. then yes. If not, I think he will wait for Stevie to do her stiff and then have her come back and they will do another FM record in style and comfort. of course, they will be in their 60's or coming up on it by then LOL. In the end, who knows. But, I sure hope he does.

Well, everything DOES happen in cycles, there, David. And, organically, too. Isn't that weird? :)

Yeah, but also I think that some Mac fans who saw the show, who never previously got a Lindsey solo CD, (me) would definitely consider buying one now. I wish he had one to release ASAP, like within 6 months or less, then i think it WOULD sell better. But since he'll probably take forever....but i will still buy it and i don't have any other Lindsey solo. But i don't have any Stevie solo from the 80's either. Which is mainly a matter of economics. But i would definitely get Lindsey's.

I think Lindsey will most likely release a solo album, THEN do another Mac album. It's that or he'll just mesh it all together into another Mac album. At this point, its not about the record sales, its about getting the music out there. Kind of like what Christine just did with "In the Meantime." You know? I feel its just a matter of time, what with his family getting older. He's got 3 kids now and his 3rd is a newborn.

Would love for there to be a Lindsey solo album. That's why I think he should start his own label. He could release what he wants to release then and not worry about Warners..

I heard a rumor that LB layed Stevie down in the tall grass and did some stuff.

I'm gonna say we will see both a Lindsey and Stevie album next year...or maybe even a buckingham nicks colaborration...and then we will see a farewell Mac tour with Chris back as well in 2007 to mark the 40th anniversary (hey if you want something might as well aim for the top).

While I agree with most of the realistic and pragmatic points made in this thread, I think LB learned a lot about the business side of the music with OOTC (probably a lot of sobring lessons). I speculate that he has used that to his advantage while negotiating upcoming projects (including "Say You Will"). "The Dance" was extremely successful and I'm sure record companies took notice. Did LB negotiate a deal beyond "Say You Will"? I believe (again, just speculation) that certain parameters were set based on the success of "Say You Will" that would allow an LB solo project or the next FM project. I feel that this is Lindsey's time to shine in Fleetwood Mac, and Lindsey has had more creative input/control (from the selection of songs on the "Best of Fleetwood Mac" that included Lindsey's favorites "What Makes You Think You're The One" and the acoustic version of "Go Insane" which was a solo song). Mick and John are along for the ride (and money). Mick realizes without LB and Stevie, there is no FM that can generate revenue, so he has given LB enough creative control to keep him involved (as payback for "The Dance" which has been revealed as a project only for the money?). Stevie's involvement is tough to figure out, perhaps it is her love for LB that got her invloved in "Say You Will" (I think about LB breaking down in the "Destiny Rules" documentary about how much he appreciated the rest of the band participating). Lindsey seems to be doing everything he can to generate enthusiasm on stage. His energy on this tour has been incredible. Is it enough to carry over and support a solo project? If there is a solo project (which I hope there is), you will probably see Mick and perhaps even John touring with LB. The only question in my mind is whether LB can put out a solo album in the next eight months that might allow him to take advantage of the mometum built up from "Say You Will." Clearly that would be a challenge for Lindsey to prepare and release something that quickly.

I felt rather uncomfortable watching that. It felt voyeuristic. It was a bit too much in-depth about their relationshiop than a I cared to know about. It felt very weird that he was saying those things and Stevie just had no response at all (she probably didn't want to cry, too). I think it spoke volumes about the two of them and their chemistry, which felt a bit too invasive for my taste.

I never heard any of Lindsey's solo albums :( I've heard songs from various albums but I don't have any of the CD's, you can't really find them around really; I would hope that he would make a new solo though ~ just hopefully i'll be able to afford it, damn people not hiring me *shakes fist*
