This is, by far, the best reality show out there. Anyone else watch it? This is the best season so far and the teams are AWESOME. I got a kick out of last nights episode when Kami and Karli dove into the water and swam to the island. Then Phil pointed out that they could've walked though the shallow water like everyone else.
My favorite team would have to be Mirna and Charla, they crack me up. Too many priceless quotes:
"Where's the disco? Oh, look, ask her!"
"I think she's a prostitute."
"Wouldn't a prostitute know where the disco is?"
"Yeah."
"Mirna, let's get outta hear, she's mad because she has work to do."
"I got electrocuted!"
"I'm not fast and quick on my feet! Oh no, what if you have to stick your hand up the cows ass?!"
"Big cartwheel!"
"Just put the meat on my back and go!"
The fact that they make up their Spanish as they go along has me in stitches. "Airporto- whoosh!" And you have to have some gall to approach a Spanish hooker to ask for directions.

And they we're SOOOO dramatic jumping into the water. "LET'S SWIM!!!"
Charla and Mirna.....can I just say that I laugh hysterically at everything they do? "I need a doctoro!" Last night I couldn't help but laugh when the team that raced them to the hill where they'd glide yelled out loud "WE HAVE TO BEAT THE MIDGET!" If I were her, I would have turned around and slapped him
I have to love the home team too...Bob and Joyce live in Mount Laurel, NJ

I LOVE this show! Love it, love it, love it! I haven't picked a favorite team yet. At first it was Mirna and Charla, but last night they turned me off. Maybe they'll redeem themselves to me. When she was telling the agent at the airport that she needed to get to a "doctoro", you know they agent knew they were with the rest of the Americans there. I was sorry to see the father/daughter team go, but they screwed up at the airport bad. I was glad to see Donnie and Allison go last week. They were just annoying....

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS SHOW!! Yes, the best reality "contest" show out there!
I'll miss Donny and Alison, only 'cause we loved to hate them so...(Donny to Alison: "You're psycho!"). Alison was like the female version of Wil. Remember how mean he was to Tara? That was some good TV! LOL
LOVE Mirna and Charla!
I love how people in Spanish-speaking countries just add an "o" at the end of everything and think it's Spanish..."airport-o?" Or how they speak English, but with an accent of whatever native language....you know what I mean? "Where eees the airporrrrto?" LOL
I'm liking the new rules - only 2 fast-forward opportunities and the yield option.
I hope Marshall and Lance are the next to go - they're a-holes!

I missed last night's episode, but I have it taped. This show keeps me on the edge of my seat the entire hour. I can't get enough of it. Charla and Mirna are definately a fav, but I also like the Internet Dating Couple, too. I think they are so cute for some reason.

I heard Alison was from the TV show Big Brother which is kind of annoying...seems as though they were paid to be on the show.
What I don't like about the new rules is that if you choose the Fast Forward, you send the team that's in 1st place, back. That really sucks if you're the 1st place team.
Marshall and Lance :distress: I laughed so hard when EVERYONE got the chocolate with the white cream except him

What a waste of chocolate. That killed me!
Definitely my favorite reality show. Everything else seems to be boring or have unbelievable twist after unbelievable twist to try and keep it interesting. Amazing Race is facinating because uh...these people are going around the world. It's definitely the show I'd be on if I had a choice.
I love Mirna and Charla and I hope they win.

Alison came in 2nd place on Big Brother, and I'm sure she took home a few grand for making it that far.
So, the 1st place team goes to last place if you FF them? Or 2nd place? I missed that - I also thought the yield was available on every leg, but I guess not...
Charla and the Chocolate Factory - she almost made a love connection, with the clue-giving dwarf. I loved when Mirna said she'd puke if she ate all that chocolate. I think Marshall/Lance, whoever, ate about 30 pieces before realizing he didn't have to swallow! Wasn't all the chocolate all over the ground a clue? LOL

I think the casting directors thought Marshall/Lance would be more like Kevin and Drew from the first AR season...sadly, they are not...they are Ugly Americans...
BTW, Kevin and Drew have their own show called "Unleashed" on Discovery. It's like a male version of "The Simple Life," but not as funny. I've only watched the first one though, maybe it's gotten better.

Such an amazing show (I think thats how it got its name...) This is one of the very few reality shows that I would apply to be on.
I missed the second episode, so I've only seen the two, and I can't really decide who I like at this point. I know that I DON'T like Lance and Marshall, and I'm not really sure how I feel about Charla and Mirna.

I love 'Amazing Race'!
I caught the last couple episodes of Season 3, and thought that if they did another one, I'd watch from the beginning... which is exactly what I did last year, for Season 4.
I didn't miss an episode, and by the end of the season, i was watching every episode on the edge of my seat. *lol*
Plus, it ROCKED that the team I was rooting for... Reichen & Chip (is anyone surprised?)... won! :D
So, yeah, this has become my favorite reality show, and really the only one I'll actually watch from start to finish every week.
Right now, I'm rooting for the Bowling Moms (Linda & Karen) and the older internet-dating couple (Bob & Joyce).
I was THRILLED that Allison & Donny went last week, and I was really hoping that Marshall & Lance would go this week... so I'll be rooting for their demise until they're gone. *lol*
Brandon & Nicole are annoying me with their hypocrisy... but, Brandon is just so friggin' cute, that I can't hate him. I don't want him to win, but I'm enjoying the eye-candy! :o

FansOfRealityTV.com (http://www.fansofrealitytv.com/) almost always has an interview each week with the eliminated team, and I noticed this in their interview with Jim & Marsha, so I thought I'd post it....
FORT: Did the bowling Moms tell just you about exchanging the money, or was it a group discussion, and how much time did exchanging your US money set you back?
Marsha: Actually, I overheard them talking to a local, saying "oh, we have to exchange money? The cabs won't take US currency?" and so on. Since I'd overheard it, I considered it good information. The line was out the door at the exchange, but we talked a guy into letting us cut in line almost to the front, so we really didn't lose much time at all. As for whether the moms were deliberately deceiving us, we still don't know, but we assume they weren't being malicious about it.
So it may have been a case of CBS editing the events in a certain way, to create additional drama.
Marsha also had an interesting anecdote about Brandon and Nicole....
What is the most interesting thing that happened on the race that we didn't get to see?
Marsha: I've got one. When we were all waiting for taxis after the meat-carrying task, they had to call a bunch of them, but they were coming one at a time. So we all decided that we would take the taxis in the order we'd arrived. We were second. But when our taxi arrived, Brandon and Nicole jumped in and took off. As they were driving away, Nicole yelled "Bitch!" out the window at me. Not exactly model behavior for people who are as God-fearing as they claim to be. I wish CBS had shown that.

As for the others, they annoy me no end. That Christian couple is a perfect example of the hypocrisy of those people who invoke their God and Christianity at every turn but are constantly showing themselves to be petty, untrustworthy and mean-spirited. Kinda like Bush.
As for the two brothers, they don't annoy me quite as much as the other annoying teams. And one of them voiced what I think all the others, except for Chip, were thinking: The Russians sure came across as a surly bunch in a miserable place. St. Petersburg looked positively stunning. Chip definately redeemed himself last night. Up until that point, I thought he was a total tool. I cannot stand team "yay God!" It's great that they believe so much but at the same time, like you said, don't think because you didn't drink the vodka in Russia that your better than everyone else...especially when your girlfriend sticks her head out of a cab window the day prior and calls Marsha a bitch . If that's not hypocritical then I don't know what is. I was stoked they ended up going to the pyramids but I too was surprised by the choice. It certainly is not the safest place to travel to let alone sleep on the street. I wonder if next week will also be a non-elimination round

Chip did redeem himself last night... I agree that he was coming off like a total tool before that. But I really like Kim, and if Chip continues this way, then I'll be rooting for them soon.
Charla & Mirna... I mean, what's not to love? Mirna can be rather pushy though. I think she's one of those people who's always on the defensive, even when they don't need to be... usually because of some kind of insecurity. I think winning this race might actually mean more to her than it does to Charla.
Colin & Christie... at first, I thought they were ok. We weren't getting to see too much personality from either of them in the first couple episodes, so it could have gone either way. But Colin has become one cocky S.O.B., and needs to be taken down a few pegs. I'd love to see Charla & Mirna come in ahead of them next week.
Humpty & Dumpty... err, Marshall & Lance... I wouldn't have thought it possible, but I like them less and less every week. How do these two schmucks manage to come in in the top 5 every week??
I LOVE the Bowling Moms. 'Nuff said. :D
Brandon & Nicole... well, I've already expressed my feelings there. They're hypocrites of the highest order, and manage to make even the most arrogant of bible-thumpers look good. But Brandon IS dreamy. *lol* So I wouldn't mind if the eye candy lasts a few weeks longer... just as long as they don't make it to the final three.
Kami & Karli... I don't know why, but I really like them. They're ditzes and they have their whiney moments too, but they're WORKING. Unlike Humpty & Dumpty, who I'm starting to believe didn't realize they were signing up for the Amazing Race.
I'd like to see eliminated, in this order:
Marshall & Lance
Colin & Christie
Brandon & Nicole
Charla & Mirna, Chip & Kim, Karen & Linda, and Kami & Karli can then all duke it out for the final spots. :)

I was rolling on the floor laughing when Mirna yelled at Colin and called him a convict. She's brassy and I love it!

Does anyone else aside from me feel bad that Mirna consistantly has Charla do all the road blocks? Poor thing had to climb down the hole and grab the bag that probably weighed more than her. I'm glad they made it before 5:30 so they didn't have to pull the bricks...they would have been goners for sure.
Yeah, I actually don't like Mirna, only Charla.

Pizza putzes will now be known as the pizza p*ssies! But, yay, they're gone! And it pissed me off the way Marshall/Lance, whoever it was, just tossed that brown goat into the boat like it was a bag of potting soil, and not a living creature. Dick!
Favorite line of the show:
Charla telling Mirna "Dig your ass over - DIG!"
Mirna's dissing of Colin and Christie's relationship...but I can't help it - I like Colin and Christie. They are the best players of this game I've ever seen! And they DID still have that cab at the airport- that was wrong of Team Midget to try and take it...
I'm loving Chip & Kim more and more...

C'mon, you can't deny that Christie is a lemming who gets walked all over. They have terrible "We're the best" attitudes and if Colin was my son, I'd beat him until he was bloody. You don't treat women that way, especially on TV!
I'm soooooooooooo glad the Pizza Putzes are gone. :blob2:
Team Jesus HAS TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. I can't take them anymore!
Next week looks great. Christie trying to block Charla and Mirna from getting into the airport and all. And wasn't it Charla who pushed her and siad "Bitch move!" I wouldn't mess with Charla, she owns ten gyms!

What happened with the cab?
Charla and Mirna got to the second airport and thought they were at the wrong one. They figured that they'd wait and see if another team showed up, then take their cab back to the first airport. Colin and Christie showed up and started running into the airport, so Charla and Mirna got into the cab. Colin comes running back out yelling "This is our cab!" and Mirna told him that he left it. He screams back at her "We never f*cking left it!" and Christie went ape-**** on her. They said their bags were still in the trunk, so Charla and Mirna let them have it. While they were walking away, Christie and Colin kept going on and on and on about "the nerve of those people" and Charla yelled at them that if they wanted the cab so bad, get in the goddamned thing and leave.

YAYE!!! Humpty & Dumpty are gone!!! And not a moment too soon.
Mirna is getting bitchier and bitchier each week... YIKES! But it seems that pretty much all of that venom is directed at Colin & Christie, and I can't say I blame her.
Her comparison of Colin to Napolean was hysterical! He is becoming rather power-mad and tyrannical. I'm waiting for their luck to change, and for him to get knocked down a few pegs. But I have a feeling they'll probably win the million.
I think the Bowling Moms are now my favorites. Though I have much love for Chip & Kim and Kami & Karli.
Charla just plain ROCKS. Out of everyone there, I'd want HER on my team.
By the way, is it just me, or do both Chip and Charla look like they've lost a lot of weight since the show started?

I am thoroughly disappointed that Charla & Mirna were eliminated. :(
My biggest A.R. hope was that they'd at least outlast Colin & Christie.
Colin becomes a bigger S.O.B. with each passing week. What a tool.
I have to admit I relished every moment of him gagging on the Ostrich egg... it's just too damn bad it didn't delay them more.
They're not even that good of a team, they're just extremely lucky. Each week they end up lucking out of a situation that would fell any of the other teams.
Next week's episode looks interesting. Between his little temper tantrums tonight (and in past episodes), and what they showed for next week, it looks like someone is in some serious need of anger management classes.
Charla's speech at the end was so moving... even Phil was noticeably choked-up. I think she MORE than proved that she's far more capable than most people who don't have any type of physical advantage.
A.R.5 won't be nearly as great without her. :distress:

I think I might be the only person who doesn't really like Charla and Mirna. I wasn't glad to see them go, because they did keep things interesting. But did I want them to win? Absolutely not.
I couldn't stand how Mirna was many times doing the same snake-like, conniving things that she constantly complained about Colin and Christie doing to them. Granted, that's the game, and I would probably be doing the same things. But don't act holier-than-thou when you are doing the same thing. That's the game. Deal with it.
Yes, Charla very much impressed me with all that she accomplished despite being at a physical disadvantage. But it also really annoyed me that she complained about how people always treat her differently because she is a dwarf...yet she would USE her dwarfism to make people feel sorry for her in order to get further in the game. She said herself that she does this a lot because people tend to feel sorry for her. Yes, this is a very smart move on her part...but don't get upset when people really do treat you differently.
I'm rooting for Chip and Kim now. Besides Linda and Karen, Chip and Kim are the only ones who haven't rubbed me the wrong way. Those four are the only ones left that I don't dislike. Brandon and Nicole are hot and I'd like them to stay longer just for eye candy. But they piss me off too. Next weeks episode definitely looks interesting.

You know, this kind of reasoning always intrigues me. Should she jump with glee when people mistreat her or make fun of her? Don't you think it is a natural human reaction to be hurt by that kind of thing? Does the fact that she uses her size to her advantage in some situations necessarily void her feelings of hurt when her size becomes the object of ridicule? I wish you'd explain that to me because I just don't get it.
I was sad the Charla team lost, even if Mirna was less-than-honoroble once or twice. I think it would have been a huge triumph if they had placed in the top three. As it is, they beat a bunch of other teams and competed enviably. And it was a triumph in its own right.
Do you guys think Phil really was choked up or was he acting? I myself was moved by her little speech, but, hey, I'm an old softie. ;)
I wanted so much to see Colin spew his guts out. OK, let's stop and consider this for a moment. Granted, I've never eaten ostrich eggs (but I have eaten ostrich meat, and the fact that a red-meat animal can lay eggs is vaguely disturbing) but how bad can it be? After all that running around, wouldn't you be hungry anyway? And it's scrambled eggs, for God's sake. Who doesn't like scrambled eggs? I could easily eat a half-dozen scrambled eggs. One ostrich equals a dozen chicken eggs, so that would be a bit challenging, but why all the trouble getting it down? Come to think of it, several teams have had a lot of trouble with the food competitions. Somehow, I suspect I would be like Chip and eat like a champ!
I guess I'll have to root for Chip and Kim now. I'd root for the moms, but you know they're gonna be out next.

*sigh* Buh-bye, team Oompa Loompa. I'll miss them for their comedic antics - but Mirna was starting to get on my nerves. "Who's hungry? Charla's hungry!" Once again, ducking out of another road block challenge...
I wanted so much to see Colin spew his guts out. He did! And then he had to keep eating. Doesn't he know how to cook scrambled eggs? No wonder he had such a hard time getting 'em down before he put 'em back on the fire. And his eggs looked icky - like he didn't mix 'em up enough in the pan.
I am totally in love with Chip and Kim!!

I think she more than proved that she was more capable of running that race than all the other women there. I didn't see any other woman take charge like she did and force herself to do those tasks, she did them honorably, without hesitation, and without whining once. She's four feet tall, carried 50 pounds of meat on her back for blocks, ate over two punds of caviar, ate an enitre ostrich egg, bolted down dark tunnels to retrieve things, pushed a cart with chairs in it, rode on camels, ran thorugh the desert; the woman blew me away. Congrats to her and her spirit, she made this show fantastic this season.
I got choked up at the end when she made her little speech, it was very moving and real. Like them or not, Mirna and Charla trusted each other, were there for each other, pushed each other, and showed how great it was to be able to accomplish things when you have someone supporting you the whole time. My hats are off to them! :xoxo:

I think Brandon & Nicole are a typical example of folks who use God & religion as a crutch when it's convenient.
They've had absolutely no qualms about engaging in shady behaviour during the course of the race... even going so far as to back-stab people in a couple of instances... but then, when the chips are down, out come the prayers to God and the hope for salvation.
One of my favorite phrases is, "You've gotta draw the line somewhere."
We have someone who's willing to pose semi-nude with a semi-nude woman, and is willing to wear an AC-DC shirt, and is willing to do whatever it takes to win... but then doesn't drink alcohol because of his faith in God.
Why? Because you've gotta draw the line somewhere, that's why!
It's simple rationalization... "I've done this and this, but I'd never do that!" And that's how they keep their conscience clean.

Without wanting to sound like I'm belittling what abused women go through, it almost seems to me as if Christy has a bit of that mentality, in that she feels as if his blow-ups are her fault.
She takes responsibility for "letting him down," etc., when it's clearly Colin who's letting HER down.
Once they got back to the airport, he wasted absolutely no time at all, in spinning the story to make her look unsupportive.
I think the other teams were all appalled by his actions.
You know, I'm actually starting to hope Colin & Christy DO win the million dollars, so she can dump him and take the money.
I really do wish Colin had been arrested though. Someone on the TAR board on LiveJournal wished he could see a tape of his behavior so he could see how ridiculous he was acting.

They're like, wait, stop, analyze what WE can do different to get ahead...they just make sense to me :D Plus, they love the adventurous athletic things, and that's why i would go on the show, so much...I'm like, can I just do all that stuff? Even if i don't win?

Can I just say how sick I am of Colin & Christie coming in first place??
My favorite lines:
On debating whether or not to go through with the FF - Brandon said, "My hair will grow back, but I'd hate for Nicole to have to cut hers off..." Doesn't Nicole's hair grow? LOL
When Chip said that Colin would "beat himself." Heh-heh. He said "beat."
I know a lot of you are fans of the bowling moms, but I can't take Linda's screeching anymore! And Karen was right about the whining getting annoying too...Linda's got that "ugly American" thing - I don't appreciate how she literally BARKS orders at cab drivers, ticket agents, etc.
The twins were cute - but rock on, CHIP AND KIM!!

I didn't find the bowling moms annoying. I was so happy that the models were the ones to go to the head shaving place, cause that meant that my favorite team was not last! I wish it had been an elimination round, though.
Colin remains a f-wad.

Anyone who treats a woman like that doesn't deserve anything other than a slap across the face and a swfit kick in the ass. The fact that those two show such utter contempt for the cultures in which they're touring only makes them even more infuriating. And don't even get me started on Colin's behavior every time he gets frustrated (which is ever other second). His display last week over the cab fare and the cops was abhorrent. He's nothing but a bastard and she's nothing but a lemming.
Brandon...how sweet and cute is he!?! Adorable with the floppy mop.
He isn't, he's a hypocrite who shouts "God!" every time he doesn't want to do something. And if he invokes Jesus one more time, I'm going to slit my wrists. I almost had a heart attack from laughing so hard last night when Nicole was nudged on the train and he said "Jesus, please help her." Team Jesus to go NOW!
Bowling moms....GAH!! Get them out, NOW...they are annoying.
I <3333333333333333 the Bowling Moms. They're spunky, smart, and have proven that they are a team that could win this. And they can't be anymore annoying than Colin and his Napoleon complex and Team Jesus with their "Baby's" and their "Oh Lord."
Chip and Kim...cute, I like Chip!
I <333333333333333 Chip and Kim, too. They just love life and brighten up the show enormously. Love them!
Twins...their sexuality?!?!? BWHAHAHAHAHAHA....ouch....I think I just hurt myself laughing.

Of course there isn't anything wrong with it, but it gets rather funny to hear their Godspeak after you've just witnessed their incredibly hypocritical behavior. Sorry, but if they live their lives in such holy manners and "want to set examples for others" (their words, mind you), then don't steal someone else's cab and then yell "BITCH!" as you speed off. Don't thumb your nose at someones culture like they do in every episode. "Look at these churches, they're like their Starbucks." I mean, it's not just obnoxious, it's behavior that flies in the face of what they claim to believe in so greatly. Look at Nicole's behavior towards the cab driver when she threw his money on the ground and told him to crawl down and get it. How Christian.

There's one more non-elimination leg - we'll probably see it week after next...and I was wrong in my earlier post re: the FF. I thought there were more, but I was thinking of the non-elim legs. There aren't any more ff's - last night didn't they say only 2 would be available? I assume that means that since there were 2 available, even though no one used it last night, there won't be any more ff's.

Spoiler alert... highlight below to read it.
ARRRRRRGH!!!!!!!! We were this close to finally seeing Colin & Christie eliminated!!!
They ended up in fourth place pretty early on, and then Chip & Kim used a Yield against them, pushing them even further behind... which TOTALLY p.o.d Colin, of course.
By the time they got to the Detour, he was fuming mad, and was letting his quick temper get the best of him. He acted like a complete ass... far worse than any of the other episodes combined... and things looked VERY grim for them.
But right then, I thought, "something's going to happen to one of the other teams, and that a-hole is still going to come in third after all that."
Well, it didn't happen quite that way. Chip & Kim came in first, which I was THRILLED about, and were informed they had won a trip to Hawaii.
Linda & Karen came in second, which I was also thrilled about then.
Then suspense... who would be next??
YES!! It's Brandon & Nicole! Not that I'm rooting for them, but that meant that Colin & Christie were in last place! FINALLY after all these weeks!
Colin & Christie run up with solemn looks on their faces, and Phil informs them they're last.
He then promptly spoils the fun for everyone hoping Colin's bad karma had finally caught up with him... "This is the last of our Non-Elimination Legs." ARRRGH!!!
I used to like Phil! ;)
So, Colin & Christie remain, and they still have the absolute best luck of anyone I've seen on this show so far.
Next week's the two-hour finale... I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that Napoleon & Josephine will win it all.
Ok, I'm done. :D

Another spoiler (highlight to read):
Folks on a reality TV message board, have discovered that Christie bought a $440,000 home recently, that her and Colin are sharing. (Pity she's still with the hot-headed jerk.)
Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean they won.
And, of course, they don't get their money until after the final episode has been aired... but, it may mean that they know the money is coming, so she went ahead and bought the house.
I guess we'll see.
Quite frankly, I'd much rather Brandon & Nicole won, than see Colin & Christie take the prize.
Of course, I don't WANT B&N to win... but it would be the lesser of those two particular evils, that's for sure.
My favorite team last year (Chip & Reichen) won, so it probably won't happen that one of my favorite teams will win again this year.
There's still hope though!
