So, I'm sure everyone has at least one of these...a crush on someone you have no chance of ever being with...AND I'm NOT talking celebrities here...I'm talking actual people that you know and possibly interact with.

Currently I have the biggest crush on a guy at NPR who I'm 96.9% sure is gay. haha...but oh my God...my heart skips a beat at the very sight of him...which hasn't happened in a long time...I just adore him...

Anyway, he talked to me for the first time today...haha..so I'm all aflutter...but it SUCKS!! haha...I hate having crushes on unatainable people...

So yeah...any stories to share?

Oh, I might add...this is one of many impossible crushes I've had through the years of my life haha...nothing new really...just hasn't happened in a really long time...

The biggest crush of my life was when I was twelve. This girl was so out of my league. A brunette Michelle Pfeiffer with Demi Moore's voice, but hotter. But to this day I regret never talking to her, as she used a Stevie lyric as her senior quote. I had good taste.

I am currently totally in love with a co-worker, who is probably my most amazing real friend.

His girlfriend's pretty nice too.

Yeah, my first super huge impossible crush came at age 12 as well...but the guy was our student teacher in band...and 22 years old...haha...so yeah...I had a crush on that man from 6th grade on through about 11th grade hahaha...I haven't seen him in years though...but my old band director keeps me posted as to his whereabouts...apparently he's a music professor at the University of South Carolina...haha

health is improving more and more each day, She has an appointment to see a Radiation Specialist so the "spot" in her chest on her last PET-Scan can be evaluated (Either the remnants of the original tumor or just possibly inflamation where she had to be reopened due to the severe blood infection she had)

As for me, My health is slipping abit, Need to reschedule another appt. because I am having severe pain in my throat once again. Plus the medicine (Protoxin) I am taking has been making me nauseated everyday.

if I ever had a crush on a teacher it would've been my 8th grade English teacher Mrs.Smith...Think Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman looks combined with Dolly Parton's cleavage, Nuff said.

Good I loved 8th grade English, Plus my desk was right in front of her's due to the alphabetical order we had to sit (Let's say I ENJOYED my view daily)

My biggest crush was my 8th grade history teacher. My goodness, I loved him from afar! Actually I think he knew it, because he used to flirt shamelessly with me and my friend who also had a crush on him. I saw him many years later at a restaurant and went over and said hello to him, and he didn't really remember me--I was devastated!!!!! :(

My current crush is Jake.    :xoxo:

One girl in my class did have one of you. She dated the music/chorus guy. The superintendant refused to let them go to prom together, so she started a petition. Needless to say, that didn't work, either.

It's an old Gershwin tune and it's been sung by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand and Linda Ronstadt-

I've got a crush on you, sweetie pie
All the day and night-time,
hear me sigh
I never had the least notion
That I could fall with so much emotion

I bet Stevie's voice could pull this old standard off too.

Which Lyric?

I think the ocean tide/seasons lyric from Landslide. Some of her friends chose other Stevie lyrics (I remember one quoted Think About It). It's been awhile.

Of course he said it in spanish so I couldn't understand him  He was Italian, and was REALLY STOKED when i moved into that class (changed schools)i think we were the only 2 italian people there. but he had a fake eye, and an italian accent with his spanish, so basically i never knew what he was talking about or who he was talking to. I just kept thinking about episodes of Columbo i liked while i was in that class

And well, I don't know how un-pc this is, but I just thought he was gay due to his effeminite mannerisms and speech patterns....which aren't overly effeminate...but there's a hint there...so I really don't know for sure...

I was busier today, too, until about an hour go and poof! NOTHING!

I think Deanna should seize the bull by the horns and ask him, it's the only way to know for sure!

 But then what will we talk about? There are no cute guys at my work. Just the guy who was a drummer for USC when they recorded TUSK, but who is a complete . Are you off in 3 hrs.?

I guess so? haha....but I'm leaving in three weeks...so then I'll never see him again....

And well, I don't know how un-pc this is, but I just thought he was gay due to his effeminite mannerisms and speech patterns....which aren't overly effeminate...but there's a hint there...so I really don't know for sure...

Though when I walked into his office he was listening to Carole King...(who I also adore) and he had some Beatle stuff around....haha...I just want to touch him...

Ok...ya....I need therapy hahaha

Hmm....I see your point. We're starting to sound like an episode of Sex and the City

There definitely aren't any cute guys here! Gay or not, I could go for the eye candy.

Nope, not 3 hours, I'm leaving at 4:30 today, so that is only, what...2 hours and 15 minutes from now--YAY! Gotta hit the gym this afternoon for some weight training and get some meds for my injured doggie. :( Well, I'm sure that's more information than anyone cared to know...lol.

Woohoo! Hope your dog's ok, and way to go on the gym. My (favorite) cat was sick awhile ago, and i was bawling in the waiting room, then i was bawling when i paid the bill :( . He didn't get hit, did he?

Well, I have another intern on the case...she's going to ask someone close to the source if he is gay - I'm way too much of a chicken to do it....so there will be a definitive answer shortly (I hope)

Also...Patti- hope your dog gets better....

I was going to go to the gym tonight, but it looks like I'm not going to get home in time...it will already be closed :( I"ve actually been waking up early to go before work...it keeps me feeling energized and optimistic throughout the day....but today I just couldn't drag myself out of bed on time...

It's amazing...I am slammed with work today, literally back to back to back meetings and things to do...yet I still find time to post messages here haha...now I'm about to grab a quick bite to eat before my next meeting....

Of course, I'm taking a detour out of the building which will include me passing by my crush's office :D

No he didn't get hit, he's got a touch of arthritis and he gets a bit sore. He loves to chase his next door neighbor girlfriend, Claire, up and down the fence and then aggravates his hip. He's much better now, though. We went for a walk this morning and he was all puppy-like, just like his normal self. I'm just getting the meds to have on hand in case he hurts himself again.

I know what you mean about the vet bills, I have 3 dogs and a cat(who has feline leukemia)--it's expensive !

Thanks for the well wishes, Deanna, he'll be fine, he's just getting a little older. Can't wait to hear the gay/not-gay verdict!!!!!

I'm glad to see your priorities are in order  Your so lucky to be busy. Yeah, going to the gym early does make you feel great, judging by the one time i managed to do it. :p I'm a sleeper extroardinaire, go to bed late-er, etc. Wish I wasn't, but...
Good idea getting the other person to ferret the answer out for you. A super spy slueth never reveals her identity...Nancy Drew

Soooo...I finally asked the intern in this guy's department if he's gay....

I bet you're curious as to what I found out.....

HE'S NOT GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :blob1: :blob1: :blob1:

Not that this really means anything for me, as I'm pretty sure that he won't look my way *in that way* haha...but hey....at least now I know...

I'm sorry to hear you've got an injured dog, Patti. I hope he'll be better soon. The gym? That's always great to hear! I hit the gym a few days a week.

Congrats, Deanna. I think if you somehow wind up with this non-gay guy, you'll have to invite Patti along to the festivities as she got you to ask!

Excellent! So...I guess this means your "gaydar" was
slightly off :p Does he actually work for them or is he interning as well?

Yeah...I just couldn't see having a crush on folks we affectionately called Mr. Hairless and Mr. ****tle (actual name Hittle)....the teacher pot just wasn't as attractive to me in high school...

That's what college is for. I had the BIGGEST crush on my Archaeology professor my sophomore year. I loved going to that guy's class every Tuesday and Thursday. He had this amazing personality, was brilliant and funny, and he was youngish, I think he was in his early 30's. Plus there was always that Indiana Jones thing about him, he worked in the field mostly and was intensely fascinating. If I were to ever have an affair with one of my professors he would have been it! But of course I'm way too appropriate for that...ahem, cough...

You little tease! (DD, keeping us in suspense with her post). Wow, I was sure he'd be gay. I'm still a little suspicious, but i gotta go with the evidence. Congrats on a cute boy to flirt with, and even better, Mac with

 Frankly, I'm still a little suspicious as well haha....

But yeah...he's older than I, probably in his early/mid 30's...I'm in my early/mid twenties :) and he's not an intern, he's a regular employee...who's actually been heard on the air from time to time...he holds a relatively high position....so yeah...no chance for me....but damn. He's just beautiful and I enjoy just getting to look at him now and again....

ok, but i don't think any of those factors preclude him liking you, or whatever.
A)Older men, yummm
B) High position, no chance for you? I don't think so :D
But anyway, have a great time! I would be happy just to have a few more Macversations.

Well Deanna, be sure and keep us posted on the events in DC. I don't think a 10 year-ish age difference is any big deal. Just keep talking to him about Lindsey--that'll work!
