what unreleased song would you most like to see on it?
I would love to see a reworked or the demo version of "Twist of Fate," if he has a new album. My second choice would be "Gift of Screws."

I think it is safe to say that IF/WHEN Lindsey releases his next solo album, that the tunes from GOS that DIDN'T get on SYW will be included:
Twist Of Fate
Gift Of Screws
I'm Alright
Down On Rodeo
Deep Dense
The Singer Not The Song
She Smiled Sweetly
Gotta Get Away
Ok...
Big Yellow Taxi
and
Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind
and
Try For The Sun

I agree. And maybe toss in that Big Yellow Taxi song that hasn't shown up on any tribute for Joni Mitchell. "Filler."

Definitely SGCYM - and wouldn't it be a thrill if the famously elusive Big Yellow Taxi were finally released? I would also LOVE to hear Shuffle Riff and Steve's Riff finished off. I'm conflicted about Deep Dense, Down on Rodeo, and Try for the Sun - they would sound so great with Stevie!
What's "I'm Alright," ChiliD? Is that an alternate title for something we've heard, or something not in circulation?

I would go with "I Am Waiting" (Mentioned in the Guitar Player interview that I typed up 1 year or so ago):

I'm going with "I Am Waiting" with Stevie singing on it too. I would also love "Down on Rodeo" and "Shuffle Riff."

I'd like to hear him do another album like Law & Order ... although I don't know what that means exactly. I just know I like it. But I also like his Peter, Paul & Maryish tunes Steal Your Heart Away & What's the World Coming To. He could mine that vein for awhile (one's even a little bit of a rewrite of the other).

No way
As for the Stones covers... I somehow doubt he'd put more than one cover from the same artist on his CD. I'd guess he'll chose Got to get away then.

are my most faves. I would love those, but I'd mostly love a CD of never before heard songs.

Let's hope he only uses one Stones cover - I vote for "The Singer Not the Song."

I vote for none. LOL My fave is She Smiled Sweetly, but I can do without that, if it's a LB penned song in it's place. :)

Nah, it was a brain-fart...I meant "I Am Waiting". :sorry:
Speaking of "I'm Alright", though (the Kenny Loggins tune)...has anyone heard the live version...Kenny sounds an awful lot like Lindsey on that one.

Krhm.
Lindsey, could you please add "Wheat Thins" to the possible following album. And also:
"Pretentious Introduction"
"Spontaneous Poem"
"Greek Gods, Cycles And Leo Kottke Meets Edith Piaf"
"Say Goodbye To Stevie Nicks (For The 5829358th Time)"
"Some Of My Fans Are Deranged And Have Faces Of Glass But I Just Don't Care"
;) I'd buy that. In fact, I've bought stuff like that before.

All I know, is that "Somebody's Gotta Change Your Mind" NEEDS to be released on an official album, ASAP.
That song is WAY too good to be relegated to some obscure benefit CD.
Beyond that, I agree with Nancy that a couple tracks... namely "Deep Dense" and "Try For The Sun"... would sound really great as Fleetwood Mac tunes, thematically... and I'd love to see Lindsey save them for the next Mac album. (There are a couple that I'd love for Stevie to save for it, too. But the rest of the album should definitely be written "from the ground up.")

I dunno... I kinda like Try for the Sun the way it is.
Damn, when will this stuff come out???

I wonder if Lindseys next solo CD will be a double, or a long one like SYW??? I mean, he's got so many songs to release...

Sorry, he can't improve upon the GOS version. It's perfection! And I sure as hell hope that he doesn't pull anything like the stunt he pulled with Bleed To Love Her on SYW. I'll positively die if the new album contains an aocustic version of Go Insane. ;)

Oh, don't get me wrong... I don't want him to touch or tinker with the song in any way, shape or form. Like you said, it's perfection just as it is.
I just want him to release the sucker on an OFFICIAL album, so that as wide of an audience as possible, can hear it.
It needs to be heard.
But what do you mean about "Bleed To Love Her"?
Are you just referring to the fact that they released it on 'SYW,' when it had already been used on 'The Dance'?

I've been listening to this song a lot lately. It's frickin AWESOME!! What's weird is, I didn't like it at first listen, it grew on me quick tho.

I would love to have an official release that includes the Gift of Screws songs, but I would really like new songs. How did the Gift of Screws songs get "out"? I sometimes feel bad that he hasn't been compensated for this work we've been enjoying.

 I think it is terrific! It is very Lindsey sounding----upbeat and unusual. If you will post me your email, I will send you the song. There used to be a site that had all of these songs on it (I would have hyperlinked to it), but it no longer exists.

Just to clarify here: some have obviously referred to GOS material as being just "demos" and some think it's finished work. There's some confusion because some stripped-down demos were leaked out along with the more fuller sounding studio equivalents. So, do you really have two different versions of "Twist Of Fate"?

Well, I went back through all my stuff to double check, and I only have one version of "Twist of Fate." I called it a "demo," because it is unreleased material. I consider unreleased material, that isn't live, to be in "demo" form. Although, I would definitely say that quite a bit of the material on Gift of Screws sounds like "finished" work, including "Twist of Fate." I guess it is a matter of opinion.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I was torn when I saw that "Bleed" was going to be included on 'SYW,' because half of me was thrilled that the studio version was going to see the light of day on an official release, but then the other half was disappointed that we weren't getting a "new" song.
Maybe it would have been cooler if "Bleed" had been one of the extra songs on the limited edition bonus disc?

Now to the latest interviews our man has given: On the one hand I am glad he writes new stuff on the other hand that could alter the plans of the near future... I doubt that the new release will see the light of day too soon, if he really includes a lot of the songs he claims to have written in the last 8 months. The only way we could see that thing in the near future is that he simply releases the stuff he has already in the shelve for a couple of years. I hope he does so (and puts on the next project with the new ones right after) but I doubt it. Starting to produce the new songs will take a lot of time and I am willing to bet that the next solo album won`t be out before 2006.
