my neighbors lol, ok on the left of us, their dog non stop barks, you cant walk out in the backyard without this dog running out and barking, I htink it waits by its doggie door until it hears a sound and runs out and barks. Now, everyone else on the block calls their dogs in when they bark but her, either he does it so much that she doesnt hear it, or she doesnt give a crap. Now on the other side of us, there this one girl, who's retarded (i'm serious she is, I'm not calling her that lol), and she has a boyfriend who keeps cheating on her, and she comes to our door telling us that they just went for a STD testing lol. That has happened 7 times in the past year. And then, whenever we walk out of our front door, she comes running out of her's to say hi, she does this to everyone in the neighborhood. Now her mom, she sits out on the porch and talks on the phone so loud, we can hear her whole conversation. Then the sister, who doesnt live there, but visits everyday, is fat lol, im sorry but she has to be 300 + pounds, and she dresses like a ****, not something everyone wants to see, and has platinum blond hair...not pretty. And whenever she comes to visit, they all gather outside and talk and laugh so freakin loud, that when I put my music on full blast, I can still hear them. Well, the retarded girl just broke a leg so nothing funny has happened in a while to say, so yeah lol. Also man lol, when my step dad had to go to the hospital, and the ambulience(?) was wheeling him from the house to the car, of course everyone comes out lol, and the retarded girl came out screaming and went to the gerney and was all "Jose! Jose! are you ok!!!! Wake up!!!" lmao!!! and My mom is at the house P.O.d about this because they wouldnt even let her ride with him. and then we hear the girl's mom scream at her from the porch "*insert name here* Get your @$$ back here!!"

Years ago we lived above our landlord. He was from the Czech Republic, had long stringy hair, and wore nothing but a red velvety bathrobe all the time. He told us the day we moved in that his girlfriend had been killed in a murder-suicide. He apparently was very depressed about this--and rightfully so, of course. Sometimes in the middle of the night he would blare opera music and sob and curse so loudly we couldn't sleep.
It was so tragic, yet so bizarre. The apartment was great and we decided he was harmless. I would have stayed there except we had to move out of the area, though our upstairs neighbor was, by all appearances, a drug dealer.
At our next apartment, our neighbor lady had schizophrenia and I'm pretty confident she was not taking any meds. She tried to never leave her apartment, and if she happened to see someone coming in the hallway, she would dart behind things to hide, or would turn around and go right back to her apartment. At night we could sometimes hear her yelling at her voices.
Now, several years removed, I feel guilty that I didn't try to help these people. Give them some phone numbers or something...Geez.

The only annoying thing about my neighborhood is the family across the street and two houses down. The guy that lives there plays (err...more like tries) to play bagpipes and often has his pals over to practice in the backyard. ANNOYING. His at it right now

My neighbour isn't so much annoying as he is life-threatening. He's threatened my father with a machete. I tend to avoid him as he does me. I'd rather not have that implement waved in front of my face.
Your neighbours sound just like my best friend's. He would always have to keep an eye out and duck outside when their backs were turned because they actually set up chairs and would spend their days sitting and starring at the neighbours, occasionally shouting out to them. They also had bizarre pelican ornaments in their garden. So my other friend went to his house and mooned them. Wait, do you have that expression?
Mooned haha, that's hecka funny, my cousin did that once to this girl who lived across from them, she would use her telescope to spy on them, so one day he saw her looking and he mooned her lol.

Aww poor people. Didn't she ever go to the doctor's? Cause they would have at least done something about her not taking her meds...

As a matter of fact I have both crazy and annoying neighbors..>BUT I no longer live there...I'm in transition right now, living in a dumb ass dorm building while finishing my internship....and next week I'll look for a place to live in my new town....and will definitely ask about the neighbors..because I don't want to live next to a bunch of crazies or sickies.....
Anyway, I had this neighbor...he's always been weird, but in the months prior to my graduation he was even weirder.
So I was in my local paper a few times in the last few months...they mentioned my major (journalism) and my internship etc...well one day I'm outside cleaning my car out when I hear, "JANELLE...hey Janelle...." I look up, and it's my across the street neighbor....my name isn't Janelle, but I don't correct him because I was kind of amused...well he proceeds to tell me that since I'm a journalism major I really should look into working for O'Reilly (Bill) because he needs good journalists...that was it...
About two weeks later I was outside pulling some weeds when I hear, "Donella!! Hey Donella!!" I Look up, and it's the same guy....he comes over, and asks me if I've applied for a job with O'Reilly's people...I tell him I haven't and he proceeds to try convince me that O'Reilly is the way to go...
About a week before graduation I was outside yet again...and I hear, "DEANNA! Hey Deanna!!" Well, I'm thinking yea for him, he finally got my name right, but he was just coming over to tell me that I made a huge mistake by taking an internship with NPR instead of going with O'Reilly  The guys a kook...
The other neighbors are all just loud and obnoxious.....and I'm very thankful that I no longer have to deal with them.

That IS horrid.....that reminds me though, my ex-boyfriends neighbor took up tap dance shortly before I left...it was SOOO funny hearing her practice in her kitchen...(he lives in an apartment).

I got the exact same problem! Theres new people next door on the left (or right, depending on which side of the house you're on, front or back) and they have THREE obnoxious terriers who bark their asses off if you step out the back door! And she doesnt give a ****, if you say anything she gets all defensive and acts like you're the one being completely unreasonable! the people on the other side of us are basically OK, but they argue a lot. You cant help but overhear the yelling and doors slamming, sometimes in the middle of the night. And there must be 50,000 nails in their wall! You hear the banging of hammers all the time, for about 5 or 6 years now! What are they building in there???

I have a few neighbors who can be annoying. Well, one and a half. The one group is an extended family - grandma, mother, and 2 or 3 kids. They kids are in high school. I cannot see the house, but it's driveway, which is like mine, is steep and winds arounds for about 200'. For some reason, every time someone drives up, they honk. And these people come and go about a dozen times a day. They also have a dog, which they penned up closer to my house - for three days. It barked non stop. They put up a tasteful blue tarp so the dog would be shielded from the sun and viewing the back of my house. The third day of this, I called them up. In polite, even tones, I ran down why that dog wasn't going to be near my house, and exactly what steps, from police, to animal control, to hiring an attorney that I was going to go through if the dog wasn't moved and kept quiet. It hasn't barked longer than 20 seconds since, and is on the other side of their 2 acre plot. The tarp is still there, but I have planted a rapid growing bamboo grove in the ravine. It'll be out of sight in 6 months. Tragic thing is, the trashy kids and mother are going to inherit the place, which is worth an easy 900k. Million dollar homes full of white trash !
The half annoying neighbor consists of a granddaughter and boyfriend who house sit for my other elderly neighbor ( she leaves town about 1 week out of 3 months). They like to have screaming matches in the middle of the night, slam doors, throw things, and yell in the middle of the street. I have called the police on them 4 times. Two weeks ago, I was convinced he had finally killed her. Their car had left with them in it before the LAPD arrived 11 minutes later. Again, it is a beautiful home on a large lot, and this is a great neighborhood. That annoys me the most. I'd expect this if I lived in a trailer park or a slum, but here it is anyway. I sometimes wonder what the threshold is - would I need a 1.5 million dollar home to be away from scummy people ? In LA, perhaps I would. I will wait all these neighbors out - that is my grand scheme.
BTW - anyone with a dog problem...tape it. Report them to animal control. Don't put up with it. LA has the weakest animal control laws and the most understaffed animal control agency in the country - I think they have a dozen trucks and agents for 9 million people. But I have shut down a number of barking dog problems in various neighborhoods for myself and friends. I am sure the dogs are thankful too, not being roped up in the sun, kept outside all year, and abused in general.

maybe they are on drugs? Cause a friend of mine, she had a neighbor like that, and you could really tell he was on drugs, and he would jsut build and build, tear down then build again...

Whoa, haha well the millions of bucks these people probably came up with are probably from selling drugs heh, I dont doubt that for a minute... As for animal control, I'll look it up in the phone book tomorrow. Thanks for the tip heh

I think my neighbors are ok. The one to the west is my age. She has this damn Yorkie that thinks he's a Pit Bull. I hate that damn dog. What's worse, is when she's at work, she leaves the front window slightly open, so the little bastard can bark out of it all day long. The woman across the street is also my age, divorced, with 2 lil' ones. She's hardly home. VERY religious. I NEVER see her kids play outside. NEVER. I think that's wierd, since Sara basically runs the sidewalk in front of my house and both neighbors on the side. The man to the east of me is probably in his late 30's, hardly says anything to me at all. Is so anal about his yard, it's not funny. If he plants one more tree or shrub, I will officially be living next door to Hoosier National Forrest. It's gawdy. However, when I was planting grass seed in my back yard, he came over to see how I was doing and offered me some advice. Guess he was glad to see that some grass was going to replace my bare dirt back there!
People are strange..... I'm sure our neighbors think we are quirky in our own way too....

yeah well there's "fat ugly naked guy" who's not really naked... well.. that i have seen or really looked close enough to find out.... but the house that i share a back wall with... this weird guy lives there... and he sits out in a lawn chair all night in a speedo... and he's overweight... and it's nasty.... and alll night long you can hear him caughing- loudly! then occasionally you hear a splash signaling that he has gone for a little swim... then he's out again, and coughing.
We have these two big beautiful palm trees (on his side of the wall) that leaves and dead **** fall off of into my pool... never fail, every june my pool gets f*cked up with palm leaves and tiny little flowers clogging my pool filter- i'm not home enough hours of the day to constantly be cleaning it out! so last year, my gardener went over to ask if we could trim the years of dead **** just chilling at the bottom of the new palm leaves... i mean hell, i was gonna pay my gardener to trim HIS trees just to lower my pool maintenance bills (totally f*cked my pump last year and had to get a new one... yikes!) and the guy threatened to kill my gardener if he set foot in the yard! WHAAAAA???? i mean hell, it's also a FIRE hazard! we get crazy lightning storms in the summer time! it could catch fire and then fall on my house! i reported him to the county hazardous something or other department... and they said they don't care... he already had a fire in one of his old dead trees a couple yrs before i moved here. anyway... i'm starting to not mind the trees- ignoring the pool clogging- a white wing dove has nested in one of them... so i hear "whooooo whooooo whoooo" all night long... it's kind of cool.
ever wonder what your neighbors think of you? i'm probably that crazy girl who always plays fleetwood mac, has the lights on until 5 am... and sits in the backyard smoking and talking on the phone... at allll hours of the night.

at my previous appartment i had the friendliest couple living next door, we used to hang out together quite alot actually. the point is, that there was only a thin wall separating my bathroom from their shower.
as long as it was his singing there it was okay, but they also reeeeaaaaaally loved doing it while showering, so there were too many times where i got to poop while being forced to listen to their action (not to mention the flushing dilemma) .

Ohh yeah, ok, the people to the right of us has this huge willow tree, I lvoe it, but its dead too, and limbs are always falling off, but today one finally get my dad's brand new Dodge truck. Those people are ernting, and when the first limb fell off, we got their landlord's number, and she said she wouldnt cut it down because it would cost way too much money, well a while ago, a limb fell off unto their neighbors house, and the landlord had to pay them $1,600...lets see, it costs way less than that to get it cut down heh, don't understand it...
As for what they think of me, they think I'm the weird girl with the huge dog, that opens all her windows and blasts Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Nicks at 2 am lol.
