My dad was driving me downtown Fort Worth to go to the Greyhound Bus station last week and they've got the streets alllllllll screwed up and torn up. We don't go downtown that often, and were confused as to where to turn. My dad turned the wrong way, and guess what....there were 3 cops standing around talking (ppfftt...go find a murderer, rapist, child molester or something.) and one of them stops my dad. My dad politely goes "We're lost." and jerkoff goes "Well, yeah, that's no excuse. That's what people say after there are bodies everywhere, there's a fire and people are dead." I mean, good gravy, what a jerkoff-y thing to say. This guy acted like he was hot shiz talking down to my dad. There was no need for that. He could have politely said "Well, yeah, I'd say so, where are you trying to go so I can get you out of the street here?"

I know they are there to help and I appreciate them for sure, but there was no need for that kind of talk. I do appreciate he didn't give my dad a ticket too, but wearing the uniform does not = acting like a jerk.

Anyway, my rant for the day.

Sorry it happened, but I'd be more concerned over a ticket, to be honest. I'm sure we've all taken wrong turns before.

i hate, Hate, HATE the attitude that police officers have. They get some kind of complex where they think they are above the law. It pisses me off to no end. I really almost depise them because of their attitudes. In my entire "driving career" I've only met ONE nice police officer who was actually a little understanding.

Yeah, that's why I wear something low-cut when I drive around. ;)

I told my dad later "If you were a woman, he wouldn't have treated you like that." I'm sure of it.

It wasn't even a one way street, we were going the right way, we just turned too early. It's hard to explain, ya had to be there, I guess. LOL

Are you really sure? I've never met your dad, but would he be that hot of a woman?

I kid you not. I was about 13 or 14 and my mother and I were going to the mall or something. My mother is a slim, good looking woman, and would've been 35/36 yrs old at the time. I remember we got about 4 miles up the road and my mother started...Hmm...how to put this? Her monthly cycle? Well she didnt have anything "handy" in her purse.

Needless to say she zipped the van around to head back to the house. She had blood on her dress for Chrissake! So of course we get pulled over. The cop was NOT sympathetic at all, and made us wait even further to write her a ticket. Cops are cockgobblers.

Cops are like most breeds of people. "A few winners and a whole lot of losers!"

I do respect the drug and crime divisions, they work hard to get scum off the street. But the traffic cops do have that holier than thou attitude!

Ya, I hate when some cops acts like total dicks!! I agree though, cops are like all other groups of people - you've got both good and bad...

I have been lucky to deal with some really nice and helpful cops in mylife...but I've also dealt with totally useless ones....case in point:

My car broke down in a really seedy part of town on "cruise night" when all the gangstas are out....well my friend and I start pushing my car and this random gangsta was like, "Hey! Don't you go to Onate...?" He was from my high school (this was years ago btw..I was 16 or17) well, the guy and his friends come over and look at my car and they "fix it" well, it runs for a couple of blocks and breaks down again...so my friend and I keep pushing...about four blocks we see the police station. I thought oh good...

So we go in, and I asked for some assistance...after waiting ten minutes for the cop in the front to get off the phone (it was NOT a professional call) I tell the cop my problem - their answer...there's a convenience store about three blocks thataway....

I was like....my car's broken down! And he says, "well that's why you have legs I guess..."

Moral of the story - gangstas on the street were more helpful to a young and distressed girl than the stupid city cops....

Also my whole mis-charged for a hit and run was all due to an incompetent police officer

It's good to rant...but I am glad that there are good cops in the world...

waaahahahahaha!!
I think a lot of power mad assholes become cops on purpose, so they have carte blanche to act in such a way. Cops have pretty high incidences of spousal abuse, anger problems, rape, etc. It's too bad. One cop guy here (Oakland) had a crush on one of my friends and was stalking her. Pretty scary, cause who would she turned to if something had ever happened? One night they were in a car and actually had to "lose" the cop that was following her. Coincidentally, I actually met this cop a few weeks ago. He drove by and said hi to my friend (a different friend who knew the other friend) and my friend said "don't go into the driveway yet, walk past, i don't want him to see where we are going" Yikes! He was a big ol' scary looking chocolate dude. You could feel the "creepy" coming offa him....

These stories are scary! Dang, Deanna, I can't believe those ganstas treated you better than the cops!! Geez!!

Yeah, there are good and bad ones....as with anybody out there. I just wanted to rant on that experience since I just now remembered it. LOL

Jake, my dad would NOT make an attractive woman at all.

That's a recurring scare for women, for sure. ALWAYS have them in your purse ladies!!!!
