We all know Miss Stevie flubs/changes the lyrics (GDW being the main culprit I think. LOL), so, when else has she flubbed/changed this tour? Also, when has Lindsey flubbed/changed lyrics this tour?

about Linds' messin' up on this tour, But I have a show from 1997 (Can't think at the moment which show it was) where Lindsey screws up the whole setlist by starting one of his tracks when it was obvious it was supposed to be the cue for the start of one of Chris' songs (He stops the song he started cold and sheepishly apologizes to Chris' for the major screwup)...Classic brain-dead moment!!!

Well, not really part of the tour per se, but on The Today Show..Lindsey started playing Peacekeeper when the rest of the band started doing GYOW, and then he goes..."...maybe I'd give you my world, opennnneye, when you won't take it from meee..."
Don't forget "Don't Stop!" I know a lot of people liked Stevie's modifications to Chris' parts but ughhh....I hated them! I'm glad she went back to at least rhyming the lines.

"Why not think about the things that you've done
"And not about the things that you've done."
I swear that she sings this each night.

That doesn't even make sense!! LOL!! I remember the playing flub, but not the lyrics.

THe weather...you just blame the weather for that entire performance. When Peacekeeper is the most well-played song in a short set that includes warhorses like GYOW and Rhiannon, you just blame the weather.
He was going right into the second verse "open up..." and then decided whoops, I mean "open-I"
This is off topic and probably belongs on one of those misheard lyrics websites...but anyway, it seems appropriate. My friend's little brother (I say little, I mean 22 year old!) was watching CSI one night about a year ago and says to his Mom, "why do they play a song about New Orleans when the show's in Vegas?" She of course, is totally befuddled by the comment. Come to find out, he thought that The Who song "Who are You" was titled "New Orleans." So yes, that means he thought the lyrics were, and I am not kidding..."Neewwwwwww Orrrleans, New New, New New"

I remember a major lyric flub from way back at the Buffalo Show May 15th 2003.
On Goodbye Baby she sings the first half of the song "And I who went to sleep in tears woke as 2 now only you remain"

I had to go back and listen to the MP3...it's amazing what you will block out when you are actually at the concert but notice right away on the MP3.

Oh I DEFINITELY noticed it the second I heard it in Buffalo. I did make sure I checked the Mp3 first to make sure I wasn't just hulicinating at the concert.

 And it drives me nuts. I also despise how she sings "If your life is no good for you, just think what tomorrow will do." She manages to depress a happy song. ;)

At the Champaign IL show she sings in Destiny Rules "just to make sure that i could still feel you..just to make sure that you were real.." when it SHOULD go "just to make sure that you were real, just to make sure that i could still feel you." so not major but she got it backwards...
And never forget the ultimate Stevie lyrics flubs from the club show she did with Sheryl in early 2001 before TISL's release... "i said why cant I get on kaah, what can you do to make me survive? say youve had a little trouble in town, say your keepin some demons down..."
also from that show i loved when she sang "think i met my match again, passing round the candlelight, in the center of the blizzard you stood and cancelled all the light."

I suspect she was drunk as a skunk that night. She flubbed every lyric on every song. SDMHA was PAINFUL.

You are right, it was a lyric flubbing night to behold..but it was also a very cool show, since Stevie never really does anything spontaneous like that show...so it was neat...and the lyrics flubs in a way added to that, some were just ridiculous tho...you would think she knew SDMHA ...I mean I can understand the new songs...lol..but cmon

Does Stevie ever sing the words to Rhiannon anymore as they are in the original recorded version?

Okay, so I'm not crazy. I thought I heard her slip up on the first verse and now I know I'm right! I can't remember exactly what she said though, do you remember?

She went "heartless challenge, pick their prey but they never cry out loud..."
Woops, it's supposed to be lousy lovers.

I like it a lot when she does that, maybe she doesn't listen to and sing her songs as much as we all do?? Also, i'd like to take a moment to defend Stevie on Don't Stop which i used to hate, but now like much better cause she's singing it - she makes it sound less sappy, sugary, and even.
Do any of you have lyrics of Stevie's that YOU thought were different, and then you found out the real words? I suppose you've all had the words to her songs forever, but due to no money-ness, I haven't. Here's my lovely, WRONG words to Storms (just found out real ones a few months ago)
"living, through each, empty night IDENTICAL inside" and the best one:
"So I search to find A NEXT AFFAIR ... so I can truly win"
I know there have been others, I can't recall them now. I know I just straight up couldn't understand most of SOTM first verse until i got the words....

I recall listening to the 1982 Mirage Tour Concert on a bootleg CD back in 1998 or so. At that point in my fandom, I had yet to hear the "Tusk" album, so I didn't know the words to Sisters of the Moon.
you know the part where Stevie goes "Heavy persuasion, ehhahhhhh....it was hard to breathe!" I thought she was saying "Hell, it was raging in...and it was hard to breathe"

Hey, that's a pretty good lyric!!
Wow, someone actually said something about something i posted. Neat!
For SOTM I used to just sing a general tuneful caterwauling interspersed with the few words I understood. It sounded almost the same! hehe.

Okay, what about singing the original melodies to her classic songs? I don't think I've ever heard "Dreams," "Rhiannon," "Gold Dust Woman" and "Stand Back" sung with their original melodies intact. I can understand dropping the high falsetto notes in "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," but for just ONCE I would love to hear "Stand Back" with all of the bent-notes and inflections instead of just belting out whole lines with a single note. There was something dark and sexy about the recording that just comes across as manic and angry onstage.

Actually the one I most remember hearing and then checking was on Beatiful Child for:
"I fell in love when I was only ten" instead of "You fell in love when I was only ten"
And "I still wish that you were mine" instead of "I wish that you were mine."
I do believe she gets the words to Landslide right most nights, as for Rhiannon and GDW I like the improvising, kinda reminds ppl she isn't lip synching, not to mention she would probably be bored to tears if she performed them the same every night...

In Gypsy, I always thought she was saying "like a landslide" instead of "lightning strikes" :o I didn't realize I was wrong until just this past Saturday when I was watching LIB, and she clearly enunciated "lightning." Yes, I feel like an idiot! :o

Where Stevie's lyrics are concerned, one should never feel like an idiot. She's a notorious un-pronunciator. A guy on the radio once made a joke about that if her and the guy from creedence (I forgot his name just this second) did a duet you wouldn't be able to understand a word. It's not just you. :o

I don't recall many LB flubs, but I recently heard Stevie sing POTU on a TISL boot (can't remember which show):
They go onto the shores, that have no sea,
Haunted by that same fantasy...
I actually think she covered it pretty well with the fastasy line...

It's EASY to cheat when you play keyboards. Plenty of places to tape small lyrics sheets, and only 2 feet from your face. Don't know if she's done it or not, though. She is Perfect, right?
And she would never say "Drowndin"

Oookaaay.....and these responses are all because all of you are so darn perfect, right!!???? Uh......not!!!! Like none of you ever make any flubs when you're talking or doing anything, right?? Trust me, if we had to do the same songs night after night, eight hundred and fifty billion times, for years, we'd all be a little screwed up too!! She probably changes everything on purpose!! Either out of boredom, or to throw off everybody in the audience who know all the words and are singing along!!!!!
I don't care one bit about it...mix it up a little....I like to hear how Stevie works her way out of it. Hehehe.
And trust me, neither Lindsey, nor Christine, are immune to these little flubs themselves!!

Naw, as a singer once, I had a piece in Italian and I blanked out and made up words.
My teacher gave me an "A" because I nobody knew but her what I had done!
Stevie would be proud of me!

No way! and did you see how some of us wrote down lyrics WE messed up of hers cause we couldn't understand them? Even if people do bag on stevie ever, i think everyone knows how much everyone really loves her, no matter if they "notice" a few things about her. I also stated in one of my posts that i love when stevie messes up!
