Back on another message board, I had posted a similar topic. It was very popular, until people started spamming like there was no tomorrow.

~~

The story of my user name is that I originally wanted to call myself, ready for this?

tangomiragedancetusk (what a mouthful  )

Then, I decided on something smaller. And I came up with this:

"My favorite song + my lucky number (and the song's track number) = my username"

~~

So, what's your story? :wavey:

It's just two of my fave Stevie songs. I wanted something with Gypsy in it, but then again, I have like 30 other s/ns with that in it, so I went with something different heh.

goldie

my real user name for other things is golddust, shortened to goldie, a pet name people use for golddust. I used goldie here because golddust was taken. :)

Simple, WelshWitch was taken so I just added my intials after it. It kind of personalizes it.

GypsySorcerer

I post under EnchantedGypsy on burnish and BN. That name was taken here, so I just went with GypsySorcerer.....for the Stevie associations. :)

My real name and four random numbers  It was originally going to be ryan847274656, but I decided it was unneccessary.Almost picked Tusk79 too, which is what I use on other boards.

crystal baller is the title of a song from another favorite band of mine 3EB...i thought it was very stevie-ish too.

as defined by stephan jenkins of 3eb
Crystal Baller (CB) - "somebody with style and grace who had a hand in his own providence, somebody who could stride confidently into the future."

My name is Mark, and my kindergarten teacher called me Markolas (sounds like Nicholas) on occasion (at least that's what I remember...I could be making the whole thing up). It was one of the few nicknames I've been given that didn't derogatorily refer to my sexual orientation.

So, I've taken to adopting it as my Internet alias.

Merf is a nickname for my real name, Meredith.

It was given to me by my next door neighbor during my senior year in college. (I was an RA, she was my favorite resident) :)

Since I am the poster child for creativity, I used my real name.

My bizarre user name results from a desire to have something different and random circumstantial events when creating my AOL screenname. We had just gotten AOL (back in 1995) and knew I shouldn't use my name. Initials of course were already taken, along with a dozen other things I tried. I decided I would have to do something completely nonsensical for it to not be taken. Back then I wasn't into FM, or it would definitely have been more FM-related, lol.

Well, at the time, I was also drinking massive quantities of Coca-Cola. It had become a joke, it was so bad. So I figured I would do something with that. "Coke" doesn't have good connotations, so I went with Soda - I knew I had to attribute a suffix to make it different but the last thing I wanted was a bunch of numbers.

As I sat in my chair trying to figure out what "Part 2" of my user name would be, I glanced over at the TV. To Kill a Mockingbird was on. I love that movie and I thought "Scout - SodaScout - why not? I like the alliteration, and it sure won't be taken." Due to me messing up my first user name attempt, I was forced to add an "s" because my original was now supposedly "taken" (has that ever happened to anyone else?)

As I began my foray into the internet message boards in 2001, I just used it everywhere, knowing it wouldn't be taken and wanting to always have the same name, so people could easily recognize my words of wisdom. ;)

Villavic

Villavic is from when you could name files and programs no more than 8-characters long. Back to old mainframes and dos times

I always wrote villavic (my last name is VILLAVICENCIO) and fellows started to call me so.

uh, my name is Amber. I'm just lucky it is also a stevie demo, though a (kind of) crappy song...and i'm not a gemini, like the song says, but, uh...yeah, it's just my name.

My user name is my real name (I'm so creative  ).

Mine too! :)

Actually it's from Garbo, one of the few male reference in a Stevie song, as we've discussed.
