I was going to post in the other active LIB thread, but I decided that my thoughts needed a more positive title!! I LOVE the DVD! This weekend is the first chance I have had to sit down and watch the DVD, and it is incredible. I can't speak about the technical aspects of the production, the videography, or the audio, because I am definitely not qualified to do so. Even to my uneducated eyes and ears, it seems apparent that the audio doesn't exactly match the video, so I guess there is some editing, dubbing, or whatever technical stuff they do, but I don't care! All I can say is that it is almost like having a video capture of the show I saw, and I am extremely grateful to have it. (If only they had been performing IKINW then!!) It's just so wonderful to have this incredible video to remember the show. I'm even glad they're wearing the same clothes :). Say Goodbye is my favorite for now, followed closely by GYOW, because it reminds me of Lindsey singing to me in Raleigh: if I could, baby I'd give you my world!

Yes, there are some disappointing aspects of this release, but I'm so thrilled with the positives that I am forgetting all the negatives! If you're on the fence about buying this DVD, my advice is BUY IT.

Last night LIB debut on my PBS station. I think it was the whole thing, cept they played SHN during the credits. OMFG!!!! i thought it was outstanding. I died during Beautiful Child. Then went to heaven. I only "discovered" this song truly a couple of months ago. It wasn't my very very very favorite, although i loved it, but on the Boston performance it was like a spell. Soooo gorgeous. A must see.

I LOVE the DVD!

Me too!

Me either, but I do understand fans who have more sophisticated set-ups and the film looks distorted.

I agree, I said this in the other thread, this DVD brings me right back to my shows and I'm loving it. I can't wait until someone transfers the songs to MP3 so I can have a full cd of the show.

I'm even glad they're wearing the same clothes :). Say Goodbye is my favorite for now, followed closely by GYOW, because it reminds me of Lindsey singing to me in Raleigh: if I could, baby I'd give you my world!

Say Goodbye is gorgeous  While I wouldn't trade Red Rover, IKINW and Sara on this leg....I forgot how much I loved the live version of WTWCT.

I thought I was sick of Big Love but this DVD version is beautiful and reminds me of how much I love this song.

Beautiful Child is stunning and I don't think I'll ever tire of the live version of this song. What a shame it's been hidden away all these years. An even bigger shame is the decision to release Landslide as one of the singles for this DVD, instead of BC.

I adore it, myself.

I think it surpasses The Dance by miles, it's that good. It looks like a real concert and it feels a lot more raw than The Dance did. While I love every one of Stevie's songs on it (really, I love them all, she was fantastic), it really is Lindsey's show. The guy justs tears up every song.

My favorite songs:

-Beautiful Child (makes me goosepimply all over)
-Come (that solo! those lyrics! those high notes!)
-So Afraid (mmmmmmmmmm)
-Goodbye Baby (gorgeous)
-Gypsy (it never did anything for me live, but this one is awesome!!!)
-Eyes of the World (I adore this song and it just sounds so wonderful)
-Second Hand News (love this song to death)
-Say Goodbye (they sound so beautiful together)
-Never Going Back Again (this tour gave me a new appreciation for this song)

And...brace yourselves...seriously, brace yourselves...

-Rhiannon  (I really dig this version for some reason and I can't put my finger on it, but I just love it)

Anyways, yeah it sucks ass that they didn't give us any extras, but I just have such a good time watching it that it doesn't matter. One of the better things they've put out their whole career, IMO.

it's beautiful in D.C. today, and a cool summer breeze is making the nag champa swirl in the air as I watch the Live in Boston dvd.. again..

so many nice touches.. I love Stevie's approach to the microphone before she begins "Gold Dust Woman".. i love Lindsey's dance in the shadows before "Stand Back".. i love doing the "Say You Will" hand dance with Stevie.. i love how you can see the band members reflections in the glass in front of Mick's drums throughout the show.. i love "Rhiannon" again.. i love the colors.. the lights.. the stage.. the performances..i love the Gypsy platforms.. i love how Stevie hits the tambourine in "Eyes of the World".. i love the enthusiam of the crowd down in front.. i love how Stevie puts her fist in the air during "Dreams".. i love the love in the audience during "Landslide".. i love Taku.. i love how Stevie sings "i do.. love you..i still.. need you.." at the end of "Beautiful Child".. I love Mick's little drumset.. i love how the vocals stand out on "Say Goodbye".. i love Stevie and Lindsey's rocky dance during "Tusk".. i love the dvds.. i really do.

yeah, what he ^ said:)

I have Tusk on right now and it blows the Dance version out of the water.

I agree about Taku, he really is fantastic and that solo before Stand Back just rocks!

I love it also, I thought it was awesome, and hope to god the 26th is that great heh. One thing is, if ya have a big screen TV, it's in widescreen lol. Anyhoo, everyone's performance was outstanding, and I love how Mick is very fluent in jiberish (or was he actually talking in English, I couldn't tell heh), but yeah. Another point for FM.

I have WT on and I'm FF through Mick's solo at 8X and it's still the longest freaking thing in history. I'm praying I can edit this thing and burn it on a DVD without that solo.

If anyone who is transfering this to MP3 has a heart, they'll remove that drum solo, shorten it ...or have a long and shortened versions for those of us who just cannot watch it one more time :distress: Pretty please with lots of SUGAR on top

(Ripping the audio to CD-R) because I think this set sounds great (Except for a few minor editing errors) and it has been played on a near constant basis since my copy of LIB arrived...Moreso than the Dance ever was played.

I'm enjoying it also and it definitely has more live' authetic feel to it than the Dance. The only performance that I thought was boring is Peacekeeper.

I finally had a chance to watch this over the weekend, too, and I just love it!!! It brought back some really great memories of last summer for me. I'm really happy to have this. I loved Say Goodbye. I thought they both sounded incredible. I'm still hoping to catch them on this leg, but it's not looking good for me at this point. At least, however, I have LIB!

Good lord, man!

It's going to take you a week to slog through all of that.

And good luck at the doctors tomorrow! My mother is going in this week to have a scope put down her throat to look at her heart (one of her valves might need some repair), so I know how you feel. It's nerve-wracking!

The Madison 2004 show is currently being upgraded in sound terms even as we speak (Currently burning it while watching it..."Destiny Rules" sounds great, Why it was dropped remains a mystery to me) so everyone should be happy with this version.

I havent been feeling well since I came back from Dallas, Finding out my own Mother was in the hospital the whole time I was in Dallas has made me feel guilty and very po'd (No one bothered to call and inform me...Thanks alot people, It's "much" appreciated!), But she is doing fine and is now worried about me...But even if the worse case scenario happens we are prepared (As most of ya know we just went through this with Debbie's illness.)

I was finally able to sit down and watch the DVD from beginning to end (by choice, I did not watch it on PBS) and I am blown away!!! The sound and picture are SO crystal clear and the performances can't be beat! Favorite moments are NGBA, Say Goodbye, Come, Rhiannon (whoever's been ranking on this around here must own a different DVD than me 'cause this is one of the best versions of this song I've ever heard, period!), Stevie talking about BC and dedicating Landslide to Lindsey :blob2: . What a voice on Landslide too! I also almost keeled over...Gypsy was very surprisingly one of my favorite moments. I can live with the sub par CD...I'm just glad we got another full show DVD (not edited like Mirage or Tango), and that this one was with crazy fans unlike the stiffer, mostly-celebrity Dance audience. A BIG  FOR FM!!!!!!!!!
