Post your reviews here.

I need to be brief; I'm leaving for Austin in a few hours.

As always, my thoughts are random.

- My sixth show of the tour, and I was in the front row by Stevie's stand! My arms were resting on the stage. :blob2: I got a wink from her (but no handshake.)
- I played Lindsey's guitar!
- I saw Christy, Joanne (met in person for the first time), and Livia and met a few lurkers. Christy had a poster & a great photo journal for Lindsey, & he took them at the end.(And Gldstwmn, Arlene from The Chain & last year's Dallas car ride asked me to tell you hello. Hello.)
- I stared at Stevie's spiked heel boots and legwarmers during the encores.
- During Landslide, Stevie was blown away by the crowd's singing. She kepts stopping to laugh at the end and gushed her appreciation with compliments.
And Lindsey thought it was hilarious thatr she dedicated the song to Texans since we know how to have fun.
- During the bows at the end of the set Stevie said something to Lindsey & he started dancing some kind of hoe-down with one leg. His hippy-dippy dance at the start of Stand Back was interesting.
- I prefer Stevie without the bangs in her hair, but her Two Birds Of Rhiannon were soaring tonight. My compliments to whatever pushed them up and over the top of her dress. All the clothes were much better than those of the earlier legs.
- Stand Back is still my favorite. Sorry, but Red Rover didn't wow me, but I'm glad that so many Lindsey fans got to see it.
- People near me shouted for Silver Springs. Stevie definitely heard.
- Carlos Rios was smiling at me every time I tried to make out his playing. Guitars intrigue me.
- Early in the set Leelee sat under a table on her mother's lap next to Jana. Kristen lifted Leelee's hands to wave to Lindsey when he would turn, but I don't think he saw. Later it was just Leelee. Cute kid. She was in these huge headphones whenever I saw her there.
- The Woodlands was pretty packed. I paid a lot for the tickets, and six people near me - two in each of the first three rows at the middle aisle - won their seats from the classic rock station. A local Ledgie lurker named Terri asked Christy & me if we were Ledgies, introduced herself, and said that twenty minutes earlier she had gone up to the box office window to ask for whatever the best seats left were. She got front row of the pit (but to the side). She apologized about five times total during the night, but there was no need. Glad a true fan got them.
- There was a woman in the front row way down to the right who looked just like Susan Sarandon. A bunch of us kept ogling her. I still think it might have been.
- There was a loud, drunk smoker next to me. She kept putting out her cigs on the cables at our feet as her husband fetched her more beer. I was hoping Stevie would scold her. Christy had a similarly charming neighbor, minus the smoke.
- Mick's spit and sweat flew near me during the solo, and Lindsey's sweat dropped all around us earlier.

I will add more about the songs (and whatever I forgot) when I can. A great night!

- Jake

She did the exact same thing in OKC last year because the crowding singing along (Around 15,500) was absolutely deafening, Even moreso during "Silver Springs".

How could ya not notice the Two Birds Of Rhiannon

Glad ya had a great time at the show...Hope the other Ledgies post their reviews today (I am at home today because I feel like crap).

LMAO - ALL I could think of was the line from "Gypsy" - "Hold Ya hay and Hallelujah - Momma's gonna Show it to YA - Ba da da da da - da da da da - Boom Boom" :woohoo: :] :] :]

Should have said hello to Susan! But I guess that you weren't Desperately Seeking her... ;)

Thanks for the review, Jake. Fun time! And Stevie interaction to boot - the holy grail!

And I'll add that when I came over to Christy she was on her cell. I had called her name & she apologized for not responding at first. I said "Do you know who I am?" and went to hug her before she was sure who I was. I think I scared her. We met once in Dallas last year, but my hair is much longer, plus I was in sunglasses, so she thought I might be Jake, but I might be some nutcase stranger. First Mac concert, first row, first post, a lot of firsts!!!
Just a quick note as my two girls are going to think that the computer is a part of me.....
I'm the local lurker that Jake referred to. I had lawn seats and was supposed to attend with my husband. Tip for the day-software engineers do not know everything about computers!! He had deleted some of my files about 2 hours before the show. It would have been our first time out since the birth of our youngest but oh well...I went without him determined to get a seat instead of sitting on the lawn.
I went up to the booth and asked what the best single ticket they had...pit, first row. After muttering a few words that I can't type ;) I bought it. My god, what a great show! I touched Lindsey's guitar and had a great time.
I'll try to write more if the girls nap later. Just wanted to say that I have lurked for a while and really enjoy reading all of the posts!

Is this totally true? Ma and child on the stage? At a rock concert?

That's insecurity on Kristen's part.

Well, Buckingham does direct a lot of attention towards hot Jana Anderson these days. What better place for his wife and child to be to get his attention. .....Buckingham's sexual STAND BACK thrusts are aimed right at Jana. My brothers adore her!

Maybe Jana or some hot younger female fans are inspiring him to write all those songs on tour. Hope so because his wife surely isn't. He hasn't written any songs in 5 years and we need some more music from him!

Great review, though!

Where have you been? We haven't had anyone around with your peculiar point of view in quite sometime....well...since you were here last time.

I'm sure you'll inspire him to write some great songs when you see him next week, do you have your low rise pants or short t-tops or tight belly whatever it is you obsess about ready for your GO AT LINDSEY. Maybe, just maybe....he'll see how terribly insecure you are.

His wife and child have his attention 24/7, what do you have? You can only wish you were the inspiration for his songs.

I was right behind you and couldn't have done a better review than yours. Though, I mentioned Landslide on another thread, but it's worth mentioning again. I'm still giddy over her reaction to us singing along with her. Especially since I know it was a spontaneous moment in the show, it made the energy level quadrupel. It was awesome. Also, I met a woman there who would put most ledgies to shame. Last night was her EIGHTEENTH concert of this tour. I was amazed. If I had the time and money, I would have been right along with her. I'll have to settle for four. My bank account won't accomodate anymore concerts.

ok I'm another lurker who made promises to post. I was at the Houston show and met Jake and Christy. Very nice meeting both of you. Don't have much to add about the concert except I did have the best seat in the house. I was directly in front of Stevie on the first row so obviously it was fantastic. I took some pictures but they didn't come out. Guess I was shaking too much. The only problem was the drunk woman Jake mentionned. She was singing louder than Stevie and believe me not as well. I asked her to be quiet and she did for awhile but other than that a perfect night.

ok, see this? Does anyone know how loud you can sing until people hear you? I sang at my last one, but it seemed the music was so loud that no one could possibly hear me. Apparently that may not have been the case. :sorry: But now I'll be second row stevie's side, and of course i don't want to distract her, but I know myself, I can't EVER resist singing to the mac, in fact I have semi nightly concerts in my livingroom (If you want to come, the cost is a beer :D ). I was at last night's show, I was on the lawn, great concert! I missed like the first half hour thinking that there was an opening act, they were in top and very
candid form last night!

She wasn't singing, she was drunk/obnoxious-ing. Singing is when you are on key and remember the right words. there were drunken idiots in Houston far worse than those in Dallas? (See my "Texas 2 step...or Mac Does Dallas review) Man that royally sucks!!!

The venues should adapt what OKC did with the Metallica show May 14, "All alcohol sales will cease at 8:20PM due to the artist's request".

I hope you had a great time non-the-less my friendly Ledgie...

Yea, even though I LOVE a cocktail, I have to agree, they should just cut it off. Too many people cannot handle themselves. Sad, very true

Metallica requested it were #1-James is a recovering alcoholic and it reportedly bothers him now to see others getting blitzed at a show, #2-The band is always responsible for any damage that is substained to the venue during a show (In the Metallica box set "Live S--t:Binge & Purge" there is a contract rider from the 1992 San Diego concert at the "Sports Arena" where Metallica had to pay over $30,000 to the promoters for repairs due to damages to the venue caused by unrully fans!!!)

I have no problem with those who drink in moderation at a show, But damn don't get blitzed and ruin it for those around you.

earthdreamer
06-18-2004, 08:52 PM
I don't drink, and that bothers me that there were those kind of people down there by the band, it doesn't say very much about Houston, even though I am sure there were plenty of transplants there, I can't even identify with my own hometown anymore, there are so damn many of them!

Just my 2 cents

Never a party guy, TOWN AND COUNTRY said he's going to start having pool parties! WE KNOW WHY! :D :

So, what's wrong with that?? Always the contradiction with you. You claim you admire John Mayer, but here it seems Lindsey has settled down and truly has become a "family man" and you mock it. Doesn't make much sense to me.

And for the record, John Mayer dated Jennifer Love Hewitt for a couple of months. If you know anything about her, you know she goes through a new guy every week. Of course he's going to say that crap, doesn't mean he actually practices what he preaches. You, of all people, should be able to recognize that.

Hey, weeks go by when Buckingham's old lady isn't around. Think Australia! And you know he's a shacking up type guy who can't sleep without a woman.!

No, I don't know that but I bet you wish you were that woman.

He focuses on bare midriffs and perky br#@sts. We're all single females. It's no big deal.!.!

He focuses on more than that, but hey....go for it, Cayla. Perhaps your perky breasts and bare midriff will get you exactly what you deserve

Never a party guy, TOWN AND COUNTRY said he's going to start having pool parties! WE KNOW WHY! .!

Yeah, he's going to enjoy his new home, got a problem with that? Too bad your bare midriff and perky breasts won't get you an invite

Actually, for a fave celebrity, I'm hot for ever-so-single John Mayer now. The guy doesn't drink or screw around with women. He wants a virgin and deserves her, like Nick Lachey got in beautiful Jessica Simpson..!

Does this mean you're moving on from Lindsey and all his evil ways or are you not qualified to fit the bill for John Mayer's virgin bride?

(You know Buckingham would have killed to have one.) So we don't want to act cheap and drool over him..!

You seem to be the only one obsessed with this virgin thing. If you don't want to act cheap and drool all over him, perhaps you should rethink the bare midriff and perky breast routine

Isn't there a John Mayer Fan Message Board calling your name, Cayla?

But it's the truth. Celebrities don't. Not one musician has their child on stage.

Do you ever post any facts on Fleetwood Mac, Gypsy-Rhiannon, Ever? Of all your 3251 posts?
What's that strange smell around here....? Anyone?

And this statement is based on what exactly?? I've seen lots of kids backstage and onstage at various shows...Sonny & Cher had Chastity with them onstage every show!

Jake - you look really good w/ your hair grown out! I was watching you! LOL You were easy to spot w/ your glasses on your head the whole time!

Christy - I looked for you in Dallas, but you were further over on the right than I thought - but at least I got to say hi before the Houston show. I saw you hand LB your photo journal and sign! Everyone saw it on the screens! :blob2:

Travis - it was so great to meet you! We should hang in Austin sometime and dish! You going to the Heart concert at the Backyard in September? I'm going, Tracye (cliffdweller on this board) is going...

The Landslide dedication in Houston was to "us" because "every time we come here, we have a rockin' good time!" That's what made LB crack up...Stevie seemed genuinely tickled at the crowd's impressive sing-a-long...

I thought NGBA in Houston was the best I've ever seen - but overall, the entire Dallas show was better - mainly Stevie's energy.

More random thoughts later - I have tons of work to catch up on and lunch! :D

OMG, my uglee mug was on the screen?! LMAO!!!!

It was cool to see you in Houston, if only briefly. :)

Yeah, I had decided to stay in the middle of the two that night as it would be my last show this tour. I kinda wish I had moved, but it would have been hard to get away from beyotch from hell. She was a roamer.

Hahah....I thought it was so cute the way she pointed her finger out to the audience and was like "I know you!" And her smile at the end of the song after we all sang...I thought her teeth were going to pop out of her head. What an amazing moment to experience!!

Thanks, Jake. I'm glad the Two Birds of Rhiannon revealed themselves to you. :)

And I'm glad there was not a third.

Oh, you met Pattie. ;)

And Re: Landslide, it's always great to see her smile.

ok I'm another lurker who made promises to post.

Nice meeting you as well.
Seriously, this drunk woman was screaming like she was in the back row.

there were drunken idiots in Houston far worse than those in Dallas? (See my "Texas 2 step...or Mac Does Dallas review) Man that royally sucks!!!

The venues should adapt what OKC did with the Metallica show May 14, "All alcohol sales will cease at 8:20PM due to the artist's request".

I hope you had a great time non-the-less my friendly Ledgie...
