This contains a spoiler about the DVD/Cd set that contains the "Destiny Rules" DVD that is available thru the official FM website:
The DVD/Cd set should be arriving soon to those of you that purchased it (I know a collector/trader I deal with who received her copy today & I just saw a post on BuckinghamNicks.com that also confirmed this.)
The only letdown is that there is possibly no bonus footage on the "Destiny Rules" DVD, It clocks in at 79 minutes and contains no menu insert. The "Live In Boston" DVD set comes without inserts or a booklet (This was also confirmed on the post on BN.com)

Some Spoilers here too, folks.
My shipment from HD Ready came today, too... and it's odd that people are reporting that there are no inserts or booklets with their 'Live In Boston' DVD/CD set, because mine came with a booklet.
'Destiny Rules' is in a standard DVD Amaray/keep-case with no insert, but 'Live In Boston' is packaged in a gatefold digipac.
When you open it up completely, there's a pic of John & Mick on the left side, the two DVDs in the middle sections, and then, on the right, is the other half of the pic, featuring Lindsey & Stevie (this is the same pic Neil put up on his site last week, from the press kit, that has Stevie showing some leg and Lindsey thrashing his guitar around).
In the sleeve with the Lindsey & Stevie pic, is the CD, and in the sleeve with the Mick & John pic, is the little booklet.
The booklet folds open, and has several color pics... most, if not all, of which are in the tourbook/calendar, and not from from the Boston show.
And then there's the standard contents list for the CD and the two DVDs, as well as the musician credits, and the production info.
Interesting to note (another spoiler here): On the CD, all of Lindsey's songs and "Dreams," were mixed by Mark Needham. The rest of Stevie's songs on the CD were mixed by Ed Cherney.
On the DVD, Needham mixed all but three of Lindsey's songs, and, in addition to "Dreams," he mixed Stevie's "Say You Will."
Cherney mixed all of the other Nicks songs, as well as "The Chain," "World Turning," "Don't Stop," and Lindsey's "Second Hand News," "Never Going Back Again," and "What's The World Coming To."
I haven't had a chance to watch any of the DVDs yet, so I can't report on those, but I'm listening to the CD, and it's fantastic. I'm really pleased.
One last spoiler... the tracks on the CD are all separate entities. What I mean is that for each track, the crowd noise fades in, the song plays, and then the crowd noise fades out.
Thanks Brian and Le Stew ;)

I'm the one that posted on BN board about there not being a booklet in the dvd/cd set. I went back after I posted and found the leaflet that you talked about. I still think thet could have done a little better with it. Like you said the photos are from the calender and they could have at least put a picture in the Destiny Rules dvd.Oh well I'll take anything I can get. :blob1: I still hope they re-book the Chicago show I was hoping to see them one more time.

Hi Darlene... I'm glad to hear your copy has a booklet after all. I was wondering if perhaps they sent out the digipac versions to some people, and keepcase versions to others... and that perhaps the keepcase versions didn't have the booklet.
That would have been pretty lousy, so I'm glad to hear that's not the case. :)

Could just be bad Quality control on the packaging dept's for the release, Hopefully nothing more (Ah Q.C., My career speciality so much in that I attended college for Q.C.)

Different mixers for live tracks?? Now that is definitely a twist...And yet very odd.

Well that sucks ass...They could have at least mixed the tracks so that they flow from one song to another without the annoying fades, Keeping the flow of a concert intact.

Can someone confirm the region codes used on both DVDs, are they region 1 or (hopefully) region 0? Of course if they are region 0 then all of us European ledgies can order them (even if we do not region free players)
I would like to get hold of the duel set of DR and LIB, but not region 1 DVDs
Cheers

I got mine today, too. :D
The packaging is okay, but I would have preferred a regular DVD case, not a digipak one. It looks out of place on my DVD tower. I noticed the thing about the mixers and thought "How odd is that?"
I still detest the fact that they split up the show, too.
I LOVE the CD, even if it is the same old songs rehashed. The only one I'm not too keen on is Silver Springs, she doesn't sound too good on that one. But she kicks it into gear for the end.

you can convert almost any dvd player to be multy-zoned, just search the net for instructions for your specific model, it's really easy to fix.

Neil... the 'Destiny Rules' disc is NTSC, Region 0, but the 'Live In Boston' discs are Region 1.
Not sure why they're not the same, but it's probably due to the fact that the 'Boston' CD/DVD is a Reprise release, and the 'Destiny Rules' DVD is a Sanctuary Visual Entertainment release.

I don't really mind the digipak, I guess... I'll just put it on my CD rack with the rest of my Mac CDs.
Otherwise, I would have put it on my DVD rack.
I still detest the fact that they split up the show, too.
Yeah, I'm really not crazy about that fact either... it's one of those bone-headed kind of things that seems to have no rational explanation. :(
But I'll live with it... you guys have no idea just how happy I am to finally see a show from this tour. :D

Yeah, it's not a bad version... it's just not the greatest. But you're right, she definitely lights into it for the end.
I think it's pretty much impossible to ever top 'The Dance' version, and perhaps without the inevitable comparison, this version would be a little more impressive.
I have to say I was completely impressed with the whole concert. There were so many highlights, and I loved every minute of it.
Lindsey was so damn cute throughout the whole thing... very boyish and boisterous.
Stevie looked like she was having great fun, and every time she smiled, she lit up the screen.
"Come" was really impressive when coupled with the visual element of Lindsey playing.
"Say Goodbye" was GORGEOUS. Very intense eye-contact between Lindsey & Stevie, and their vocals were both spot-on (these have to be some of the prettiest vocals to ever escape Stevie's lips... and Lindsey's, for that matter).
I'm not afraid to admit that my eyes welled up. :o
"Never Going Back Again" was a surprise highlight for me. I wasn't expecting anything special from that one, but Lindsey & Mick gave it a real "bluegrassy" kind of feel, and I loved it.
Another surprise was "Gypsy," which far surpassed 'The Dance' version, and might very well be the best live rendition of it (aside from the AHI 2000 performance, of course).
"Say You Will" (which I'd already seen on the net) was so cute and fun... I love this song more and more all the time. :)
"Stand Back" was KILLER, and I can see why everyone says the crowds always go wild for it.
Oh, and I might I add that I love, love, love Lindsey's maniacal laugh during "Tusk."
Anytime he does that in live versions of that song, I always get goosebumps.
Overall, it's an excellent performance, and I'm happy to say that many of the songs surpassed 'The Dance' versions. Worth every penny, and most definitely worth the wait. :D

Crikey! I can't believe that I forgot to mention the "Landslide" dedication, which was so sweet and emotional!
Stevie's performance of the song was flawless, and even though I realize her and Lindsey pretty much engage in the same interactions for every show, it still seemed really special and spontaneous. :)

Well hell, I'll be the first to say I was pretty disappointed with the 2 DVD set. The only thing I really enjoyed was Lindsey's "Come", "Say Goodbye" and "Eyes of the World." Stevie stood out on "Beautiful Child." The rest of it was sort of lackluster. I think I just got used to the near perfection of "The Dance." Oh well.
PS. Notice the "The Dance" overdub on the middle solo on "Go Your Own Way" just like I said.

My thoughts on the DVD :
First off thank God it came today, the anticipation was killing me!!
The concert started off a little weird for me, I dunno Dreams sounded totally weird and I dunno why...her mouth didnt seem to go with what she was singing or something, but after that things got better..
I thought the Landslide dedication was a true highlight, and Lindsey looked touched to have it dedicated to him..
Overall I enjoyed it better than the Dance, probably because I've seen the Dance video so many million times now I cannot even stand to watch it anymore...it was great having the crowd and it added to the show, unlike the dance...
"Beautiful Child" was ...well "beautiful.." lol I thought it was her best performance on the DVD... "Say Goodbye" sounded fabulous, Stevie and Lindsey blended so so well...and you couldnt hear the crowd chatter...
"Gold Dust Woman" was good...the scream was especially good..better than other times I've heard it on the Say You Will Tour..
"I'm So Afraid," which usually isn't one of my favorites was actually a highlight for me...it was mixed very well and Lindsey is really really getting into it here..and it just sounds so so good.
"Eyes of the World," I loved this song last year anyway, so that was great...Stevie looked like she was having a blast during this one...and Lindsey did too...they both were like hopping up and down, lol..
I know a lot of you have said the Rhiannon on this DVD isnt so good, but I think it is MUCH better than the Dance version...the ending is tons better, she seems to let loose some here..
"Whats the World Coming To" was fun, they sounded great on this one, and I had thought sometimes on this tour WTWCT didnt come off so well live, but it was perfect here..."Come" was great...it was mixed very well too, the heavy guitar was very loud and it just seemed to be pulled off well on DVD, very well!
My only gripes : sometimes, but not much the editing was noticeable...probably wouldnt be noticeable to casual fans who dont even know this was filmed over 2 nights, but to me it was noticeable in some songs...
Also, I don't like how the cameras shot way back into the back of the arena, every time the songs were over, didnt seem to make it flow so well..it wasnt until the end that this didnt happen...
Overall I think this DVD is excellent, I have SOME gripes with everything, but I was very pleased with it..You really do get the feel from watching that you are at the show, and if it was on ONE DVD that would be even easier to do...
It actually was better than I had expected..and I recommend it very much to anyone.. Stevie was totally rocking in the end, and Lindsey was of course the whole show...her cream colored boots looked great in Gypsy, and while I do notice the overdubs in Go Your Own Way I don't think it is pulled straight from The Dance... and the 2nd time he went into the crowd during GYOW it didnt sound as perfect...
So there's my thoughts on this muchly anticipated DVD set.

Oops! *lol* I had the wrong person! I thought you were on Lindsey's side (I think I had that in my head, because you mentioned playing his guitar)!
I also thought you had said you were wearing a striped shirt!
Sheesh, my memory is BAD. :o
Well... to whomever the guy is in the striped shirt on Lindsey's side, you're a handsome fella!
But you're still a mystery to me, dissy! ;)
Ah well, gives me an excuse to watch it again (as if I needed one)! :D
