What are your favorite shows of thirty or more years ago?

My favorite would probably be All In The Family, followed by I Love Lucy.

While not favorites, I have soft spots for The Brady Bunch (as a show in which I know every line by heart) and for Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp (which made me laugh when I saw it on Nick At Nite many years ago).

All in the Family, I lLove Lucy, I Dream of Jeanie, MASH, and Mary Tyler More. are all favorites from 30 years ago or more.

Not so much a favorite now, but one I loved from my childhood was The Munsters. I just loved hearing that theme song as a kid. I was Herman Munster for Halloween one year. I was 5 years old and all the old ladies giving me candy said oh look at frankenstein. in my best Stevie nicks imprssion, "well no I wasn't frankenstein I was herman munster danm it"

The Monkees!!

I've been watching Thunderbirds on Tech TV and it's quite interesting. They even give little tidbits at the bottom of the screen about the show.

I grew up on Green Acres, I Dream of Jeannie, Mr. Ed, All in the Family, etc., but don't watch them much anymore.

I grew up watching I Love Lucy. In fact, I had a friend who was a huge fan also.

We would talk endlessly about the show, especially around the reruns where Lucy was going to have Ricky Jr.

My number one choice is definitely I Love Lucy. Nothing even comes close for me. Other choices are Bewitched, Mary Tyler Moore, and Brady Bunch.

Half the people I know Love MASH, but I never got too into it. I've seen only some MTM episodes but like it. Barbara Eden's voice annoyed the crap out of me when I was little, so I've seen only a few IDOJs.
I used to love when Marilyn Munster felt like she was the ugly one.

I have no memory of watching Green Acres, but my mom says that as a baby I would cry if it wasn't on. The days before DVDs.

And BTW, I despised this show when I was little. Every summer they would yank the Brady Bunch (AKA "My Favorite Marcia") for these four buffoons. They just never made me laugh, and I guess they lacked the same comic subtlety of the Brady cast. ;)

My number one choice is definitely I Love Lucy. Nothing even comes close for me. Other choices are Bewitched, Mary Tyler Moore, and Brady Bunch.

I never saw why people thought Elizabeth Montgomery was such a talent until I saw her play Lizzie Borden in a telemovie. It's a shame Elizabeth died so young.

I'm a classic TV junkie... and although some of these are newer classics, I'm still listing them!

The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show, I Love Lucy, The Bob Newhart Show, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Three's Company, One Day At A Time, Alice, Soap, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Wonder Woman, M*A*S*H, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, The Incredible Hulk, Charlie's Angels, The Simpsons, Cheers, and others that I'm sure I'm forgetting. :)

You rule breaker! I said shows that are thirty years old or more! Still a lot to work with here. Random thoughts:

The Partridge Family - I've seen maybe two episodes. Felt like I was cheating on the Bradies. :o

Three's Company - I remember more of this show than I'd like to admit.

Alice - When I was little I had a button that said KISS MY GRITS. (To go with my T-shirt that said Horseshack For President, perhaps. My folks were cruel.)

Six MDM - I had the board game. That's where I learned the word "blackmail". Well, there and at family reunions.

Fantasy Island - I loved the ones where Roarke battled the devil. And I remember specific shows, like Nancy from Eight Is Enough or Michelle Lee being on, and also the guys who wanted to fly like the Red Baron or meet the late Janis Joplin.

Hulk - The transformations rocked. How many purple pants can a guy have?

Wonder Woman & Charlie's Angels - My first big crushes were on Jclyn and Lynda, and I fell hard. Remember Jaclyn with the rose in her teeth, or Lynda in the cape? How about Debra Winger with that '70s hair? AND BTW, I know WW is not thirty years old, but I'll forgive this one.

One DAAT - You know they're making a reunion this year.

Bionic Woman - Remember Helen Hunt as the alien princess?

Love Boat - Too many things to say. :blob1:

My favorite classic TV show is deffinitely Get Smart. When I was younger, I wanted to be Agent 99. lol. I'm pissed that they rarely show it on TV, though. It's such a great show. I also love All in the Family, as well as WKRP (I think that's what it's called...they haven't aired it in a while). And even though they're not that old, I love Cheers (will always be a classic), Roseanne and Wings (I'm the only person I know who loves this show... it's a total 'cult classic') quite a bit.

I also remember All In The Family (wich they're actually broadcasting now). Then there are the younger ones (sorry I had to include them :D ) like Cheers, Murphy Brown (gotta love her), Dallas, Love Boat, Alf, Grace Under Fire, etc.

I can't think of shows that are more than 30 years old that I'd want to watch. I have no patience for that.

However, three shows I don't seem to get tired of:

Cheers
Seinfeld
Roseanne (I still get open-mouthed shocked at some of the taboo issues this show tackled.)

Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.

Put in on DVD, for cripes sake.

I'll never forget the episode where Martin Mull just stared into the camera for 15 minutes straight.

Others classic TV shows I love:

Roseanne
Soap
Wings
Cheers

I totally agree! I think Barney is one of the funniest and most classic characters in TV history. He makes the show, so if he isn't on it---TOTALLY SUCKS! I also love The Donna Reed Show, The Patty Duke Show, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Alice, The Wonder Years, and The Simpsons. :blob1: :blob1:

Good lawd, JS!! Breaking out the big guns here...yeah, Andy Griffith is one of the shows my dad and I love to watch together....and I love Gomer Pyle too. I've seen every damn episode. LOL I never have seen a ep of Soap, The Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, Incredible Hulk or Charlie's Angels (yeah, not my type of show. LOL). Don't care for M*A*S*H as I don't care for war shows or movies. I used to love The Fall Guy tho! Knight Rider and The A-Team!!

The voice, the manner, and her slapstick was hilarious. The way she'd run after Archie and fuss. The one where she tried to save energy by grabbing out of the fridge as quickly as possible and then slam the door shut, only to have to repeat the process several times until she blindly grabbed the right thing. And the menopause shows were hilarious.

LOVE The Nanny! My favorite of the '90s...

As for the oldies, in no particular order:

The Brady Bunch
The Partridge Family
The Carol Burnett Show
MASH
Wonder Woman
Bionic Woman, esp when Bionic Woman and 6 MDM were together. Remember the Bigfoot episodes?

I think that's about it. Oh, Facts of Life, too, for the '80s.

Guess that list covers four decades!

That is where I know them from too. I used to watch Nick at Night all the time in high school and college. You just had to love it! I don't watch Nick at Night as much now, because they don't seem to have as many cool, older shows on like they used to have. They seem to be playing TV shows that I actually saw when they were on the first time---Cosby Show, etc. I must be getting old. Nah, thirty isn't old---just a mere child! :]

Also, I totally forgot about the Golden Girls! That would be on my list as well.
