Hey Everyone,
Okay, I have fourth row seats and im trying to decide what to do about taking a camera. I have a REALLY exspensive digital that I would love to take because I know it would take great shots. Its a little big to sneak in but if I wore a jacket I could put it in an inside pocket or in my hand with a coat draped over my arm and hand?

Or i could get a disposable camera and sneak it in that way if its taken by security, it's not a big deal. I could also go the regular route of 35 mm 800 film loaded in a camera. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?

Alex,

The 35mm photos I took (I've tried it with 800 and 1600 speed film) were very blurry. Of course, they were from the 13th row, not up front. My digitals turned out much better, those were from the 10th row.

I've never had a problem taking photos at a show. The biggest issue was in Toronto when a security guy told me not to take any more pics - since it was already 1&1/2 hours into the show, I wasn't too upset. I just put it away.

Is this the Cuyahoga Falls show? I snuck my camera into that venue without any problem in '01 - of course, that was before 9-11 so I don't know if they're more strict now.

The worst they can do at the gate is tell you to take it back to your car (I've heard of some people bringing a disposable 35mm as a decoy camera - once they find that & you ditch it, they probably won't bother looking for another camera. I may use this method in Hershey.) I've never heard of security actually confiscating someone's camera inside, I suppose they could watch you delete all your pics if they want to be really jerky.

Okay that makes me feel better. It's silly because I will have the nice digital with me on this trip because im staying with a bunch of friends and we're having a party a few days before the show so I will bring the digital along. I would shoot myself if I had it with me and didn't bring it to the show!
