Could you PLEASE all make signs that say "Bring Back Silver Springs PLEASE" Especiall if ypu are in the first few rows. If the band see those signs MAYBE the song will come back. I mean Stevie is quite the softie to giving into fans if there is a BIG ENOUGH reaction. If they can all see all the signs. Please Don't make any Thank You For Sara signs.

Well, I'm glad they dropped SS, but I will make a Running Through the Garden sign. Or maybe a sign demanding Murrow.

Sorry. I was thankful for Sara so Meredith and I made a sign. In Holmdel I made "WE MISS SILVER SPRINGS" and they all saw it and I believe it was given to her along with a "STILL EXTRA MUCH MORE FABULOUS AT 56" sign. The song isn't coming back regardless of whether or not she gets well soon, IMO.

Before Stevie got sick she was having problems with her vocal chords and that was the reason SS was dropped. At this point, IMO, I think we have to respect the fact that she can't do SS and Stand Back and had to choose to drop one. I'm sure she wasn't happy about dropping it and making her feel badly that people are upset about it isn't going to bring it back. Just my 2 cents.

How could you HAPPY Silver Springs is gone. They aren't adding anything in it's place so there are 23 songs not 24, there is no possible way that's a good thing. Even if you disliked the song having it is better then not having it.

Because I haven't heard a version that can compare to The Dance tour and I'd prefer to have memories of that rather than memories of some phoned-in performances of it. It's personal preference.

You need to get a video of the Atlanta performace of it - because it was stellar!!!!!!!

I will FOREVER have that performance imbedded in my mind...one of her best performances EVER of that song...breathtaking and moving.

I know all about the freaking vocal problems, and I want Stevie to get better before she sings ANY song, but I'm very upset that they fell they are able to drop Silver Springs but feel the fans would have heart attacks if they dropped Dreams. I realuze Dreams is much less taxing on her voice, but the point I'm trying to make is I'm just upset Silver Springs doesn't have that secure set in stone position in a Fleetwood MAc set list that a song like Dreams or Rhiannon has. And SS is a song that really needs to be there forever now, it's still rocking and it got screwed all those years ago, it needs to be played until they stop touring. And judging from cory's tour diary the song is never coming back this summer even if Stevie gets better. That's what got me worried. I don't necasarily want to make the band feel bad, although I kind of do. Kind of how family members and friends try to make eachother feel guilty. I want Stevie to feel the fans Silver Springs love if not for this tour then for future tours. It just seems like they consider it a song that's easily disposable when it shouldn't be. Why can't Silver Springs and Stand Back alternate nights  That would actually be great. You never know which one you'd get.

I agree. I'm sure she's well aware of how bad the fans want to hear it, and I don't see any point in making her feel worse for not being able to sing it for reasons that are beyond her control. (No offense to the thread starter. I know you just desperately want to hear your fave song, but.....)

That said, I know Stand Back is Stevie's "energy number", but I do not understand dropping an FM song in an FM show in favor of a Stevie solo song that's been performed at basically every single show she's done since 1983.:)

Well the implication (oh god I'm using another Lindsey word) of Cory B.'s tour diary was that The song's not coming back even if she gets better which doesn't make sense to me. Unless of course what Cory is trying to say is Stevie probably won't get better anytime soon which I would then say to Stevie just cancell the rest of the tour. My whole thing is if she's too sick to sing a certain song, why continue to go up on stage and perform other songs and make herslef get sicker.

Lwe break down my thinking even more. To me there are 2 scenerios.

Scenerio A- Silver Springs is dropped because Stevie's voice can't handle it because she is sick and her vocal chords are damaged.

Scenerio B- Stevie even after she becomes all better still does not want to play Silver Springs

OK so my whole signs thing only applies if Scenerio B is the case. If scenerio A is the case well then like I said in the above post, the tour should really just be all out cancelled, Or like Carne said just make it an all Lindsey fleetwood Mac the rest of the tour. Chop 50 bucks off the ticket prices. Add about 3 or 4 more Lindsey songs and there you go. Stevie can rest up for next time.

I'm making an "Add Frozen Love" sign, or maybe and add Angel, Murrow, Straight Back, WMYTYTO, SOTM or Blue Letter sign... yeah, like ANY of those would happen :p. I also have a "Lindsey- Thank You for I Know I'm Not Wrong" sign already made. I was going to make a "Bring back SS" one, but after reading Cory's tour notes, I decided that it wasn't worth it.

Yeah, I have to agree with that. I saw the Dance show in Atlantic City back in '97. It was the one where Stevie couldn't finish Silver Springs so Lindsey did and he started to cry. To be there and see it was unbelievable, so when I found a boot of it on WinMx a while ago I got really excited. Well, when I listened too it, I cried too, because it was awful. I think the live vocals in general on this tour are much better than the dance personally.

I really love Silver Springs, and I hope it comes back to the set, but I'd take Stand Back over it any day. My $0.02

I definately hear you Hawkeye...Marissa and I did hold up a sign in Holmdel that said "WE MISS SILVER SPRINGS". Lindsey absolutely saw it, I watched him read it. As for STevie, its hard to tell. She has a way of looking at you out of the corner of her eye, so you are not really sure if she is looking or not! We got yelled out for holding up the sign to make matters worse. I will try to bring something to Jones Beach tomorrow. I do not want to make her feel guilty, but I do want to convey my love for the song. Its my favorite and I would trade Dreams for it in a heartbeat.

Do you think the insurance people are going to pick up the bill for a cancelled tour??

Reality check here......Stevie is well enough to sing now....in order for Fleetwood Mac to fulfil their OBLIGATIONS to promoters of all kinds, insurers and their management etc Stevie will continue to sing but in a slightly diminished capacity. This way the fans get their bit of them and at least be happy to have seen in the majority of cases a SECOND time round, the promoters will get their cut, management will get their 20% and everybody is happy.
