View Full Version : George Bush- The "War" President

It seems to me that if Dubya wants to claim himself as a "war President", perhaps he know something regarding the history of war. I mean, I know that Dubya is a total moron, but don't you think his speech writers should be able to remember simple history?

Here's an excerpt from his recent speech:

"Like the Second World War, our present conflict began with a ruthless surprise attack on the United States. We will not forget that treachery and we will accept nothing less than victory over the enemy."

See, for Dubya, the only country in the world that exists in the US. Perhaps, he might want to remember that WWII began in 1939 with Hitler invading Poland. I think it's kinda sneaky that he would compare the entry of the US into WWII to the fabricated invasion and "regime change" in Iraq.

Completely different scenarios. And his political sentimental manipulation is disgusting. At least his desperation is starting to show. I can't wait until he is gone, gone, gone in November!

Even slimier is his continued linkage of 9/11 terrorism to the invasion of Iraq. Whatta scumbag!

On cnn.com, there is a poll that had 70% of people disagreeing with W's comparison of Iraq to WWII. So, apparently many did not like that

This is the first time I post about politics, bush, war, etc.

Outside the US, Bush is seemed very related to war. They never found the supposed chemical bombs in IRak. I don't support Saddam, of course. He is a murderer. And of course I was shocked about 9/11.

But the recent conflicts in Irak, in my opinion, are generated because of Mr. Money. And the US politicians don't care about international opinion.

Welcome!!! We do not bite - just at times growl a little

I agree. And - as Lux pointed out - American politicians do not care because they know the US can use its economic influence through trade, loans, and donations to make just about any country do what it wants.

The funny thing is that he was warned by his own staff and by the French government not to make the comparison. But he did.

However, it's nothing compared to what happened on Saturday at the World War 2 memorial. I was so offended that I literally cried. My heart goes out to every veteran who watched it on television; that is not what the event was for and Bush should apologize.

Minute Rice has gone insane. Look at what she told the newspapers today:

"When you think of statesmen, you think of people who seized historic opportunities to change the world for the better, people like Roosevelt, people like Churchill, and people like Truman, who understood the challenges of communism. And this president has been an agent of change for the better -- historic change for the better."

Yup, Bush will be held up alongside Rooselvelt, Truman, and Churchill.

Have y'all (I can say that-I'm from the south) heard the story about how Condi was at a dinner with several reporters from the NYT & Washington Post and she pipes up and says, "As I was telling my husband. . . I mean, the President". . . OOPS! The press speculated that it was a case of "over-identification" with Mr. Bush & their relationship. You know--if one of Clinton's folks would have said something like that they would have ended up tarred & feathered in front of Starr & co. Jesus---I've got an absolutely terrific boss but I've never, ever, not once referred to him as my husband! Creepy. . . .. .

Oh--and Bush a statesman? Doesn't the word statesman imply that someone actually gets along with other countries and is held in high-esteem by them? Bush? Statesman? As someone said on DU earlier today, she ain't just drinking the Kool Aid, she must be snorting it!

I was told personally by a very senior source well before the latest US invasion of Iraq that no new chemical weapons would be found. He knew exactly what chemicals the UN weapons teams had logged and impounded and was 100% sure nothing else would turn up. Which tells me if the UN chemical weapons teams knew everything then Bush and his "advisors" knew all the facts too. That's enough evidence for me of his intentions. The whole situation stinks.

I agree there is something going on here that does not meet the eye. But, why would the vast majority of the D's in Congress, Pres. Clinton, the UN, and the the intelligence agency's of every major country in the word be on board. It just seems that if they, esp. Kerry who knew he was running then, knew the whole thing was bogus, they could have excoriatred W and made a clear, wide, and unobstructed path for a D to take the WH in 04 and, perhaps, W's resignation under threat of impeachment. The whole thing is just odd to me and I cannot find a rationale thought to explain it other than all of them (R or D) are just liars and all perpetuated the WMD idea to scare people. Very strange indeed.

I am not excusing W, I am just saying that if it was that apparent no WMD existed at all, someone would be using that info. now for political gain. So, I conclude they were there or at least they thought they were there although clearly not in the exigent mode W lied about.

Dude, the house could fall on you and you still wouldn't get it. BUSH KNEW THERE WERE NO WMD'S. Doesn't matter what Clenis did, or what Congress did, or what Kerry did, BUSH is the POTUS. He pulled the trigger on this illegal invasion of Iraq. Congress didn't, the UN didn't, Kerry didn't, it was BUSH. The buck stops with him. Spare me the song and dance about Bush going to Congress. That was semantics. As for Kerry's vote, he was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. We need to get this f*cker out and we need to get him out now. Or are you willing to go through four more years and the invasions of Syria, Iran and wherever half of our Navy just sailed off to for training exercises? Can you say "mushroom cloud"? Because that's where I think this whole thing could be headed if the PNAC gang gets four more years. So apologize, criticize and rationalize all you want. At this point, I don't give a flying f*ck who pulled who's hair, or squealed "I'm telling!" THIS GUY IS DANGEROUS. That's the bottom line.

I AGREE WITH YOU _ IT WAS MF BUSH - AND HE IS NO GOOD LYING MF'ER - how many times do I have to say it because I have been saying it since last year - I am not disagreeing with you

ALL I am saying is you, Dissention, and other liberals make it sound like Bush sat there in defiance of all logic and world opinion and said "the hell with the thousands of reports that clearly indicate no WMD - screw them all we are going in because I said so and I do not care if I have no support for this" He did not do that - If you can find where he did, let's see it.

Once again, although W made the final decision to go to war based on the WMD evidence and for that he should be reomved from office, he was not the only who believed that evidence. Rather the leader of the Democratic Party, the heir apparent, the UN, Russia, France, Germany, and MANY MORE ALL believed it too - otherwise what was the reason for the UN resolutions saying so  So, MY ONLY POINT IS although W is solely to blame for the decision to go to war, if you fault him making that decision based on his belief of the existense of WMD, then you have to fault the others named above because they all still believe it, esp. Clinton and Kerry. Again, I get that they did not go to war on it, although Clinton, with the blessing of Kerry and MANY other D's, certainly risked all out war on it by firing missiles into Iraq and praying SH did not retaliate against Isreal. Again and so there is no confusion all I am saying is W was not alone in his belief that SH had WMD and that he was a threat to the world. Yet, for some reason you liberal D's cannot admit Kerry still believes SH had WMD and that he urged going to war over it twice. Instead, liberal D's just give him a blanket excuse because they hate W so much. Instead, I think they ought to call him to task for believing there were WMD - I mean that he thought there were provides support for W's decision to go to war. In other words, it is a little hard to argue that W made this up when so many people agreed with him about the threat of SH and the existence of the WMD. Yet, the D's just cannot own that. Instead, they spin it.

Clearer now - and so help me if you come back and say I am not placing the blame solely on W and am spinning it to Clinton . . .

I mean if anyone thinks Kerry would not go to war based on intelligence, think again. He has voted for it TWICE and still stands by his reasons for doing so. He, like me, is just piised off at the way W did it. But, does anyone really think when Kerry cast his vote to gice W the power to go to war based on evidence Kerry totally believed, Kerry did not know EXACTLY what W was up too. I mean come on - we knew it and we are not running for the Pres. of the US

Yet, every time I say the last paragraph - it is as if I am lying through my teeth and DARING to EVER talk bad against the saint known as Kerry. Again, the facts support me 100% - AND I am willing to say I do not give a rat's ass that Kerry thought and still thinks there were WMD and he voted to go to war TWICE in six years to get rid of them - I would rather have his ****e that W's any day of the week. I just, unlike you all, am willing to admit I am a hyppocrite for it. :)

Do you honestly think that is what you are accomplishing by continuing to espouse apologist/enabler right wing talking points?

Yes, because the truth is what is important to me and I refuse not to acknowledge it just because I think W needs to go. I will not put my head in the sand that way. I will always call people on it when they incorrectly say W lied 100% about the existence of WMD in Iraq and we have to get rid of W because of it so vote for Kerry. I think that is hypocritical because the implication is that Kerry did not believe in the existence of WMD. It think such statements completely ingnore history. Kerry has repeatedly said and still says to this day that he, like the rest of the world including W, thought SH had WMD and was a significant threat to the world for it. Moreover, Kerry more than once authorized military force to remove SH because, like the rest of the world including W, Kerry thought SH had WMD and was a significant threat for it.

I guess you and other far left liberals just refuse to acknowledge the facts and instead want to ignore Kerry's complacency in this war in this, as you put it, "illegal" war in Iraq and instead spin it to attack me (in a friendly manner :xoxo: ) and call me an apologist and an enabler. You all think that by not discussing Kerry's complacency in this war in Iraq, you can somehow justify it.

Again, I hold W 100% accountable for going to war in Iraq. All I am saying is it is wrong to assume he did it alone. Kerry was right there supporting him. If anything Kerry is the enabler not me

But once again, the far left will NEVER cede that Kerry, their proposed saviour from the evil W, had anything to do with the war in Iraq nor will they EVER admit Kerry believes there were WMD in Iraq and it was worth military action to rid the world of their significant threat, even though Kerry himself says it. It is just too much for them to equate Kerry to Bush in any way no matter that the fact is they are VERY similar on the issue of WMD. Instead, they want to ignore this and blame it all on W and anyone who points this out is called an apologist and an enabler.

Come on, I want to hear you acknowledge the truth just once and that is, come on and say it just once  , "If W made up the entire existence of WMD, then Kerry is no better than W here because Kerry also believed in military action to remove SH and his WMD and his significant threat to the world." You can use the  emoticon if it is too painful so say the actual truth :wavey:

Well, Tenet had a heavy hand in it.
