I second that, minus the ruling your butt part. :wavey:

I think they are bootlegs, because I look for stuff like that all the time, no luck of course, but I look like it's just going to magically appear, if I stare hard enough and stuff

They are bootlegs. It's just the 1982 videotape transferred to DVD. I'd give the quality a B-. The color is a little off(the greens are REALLY green), and the audio is fair.
But, mine kept skipping, and he sent me a new one, with no questions asked. So, I guess it's better than nothing(my videotape is in sorry shape).

Yeah

I too would love to get my mits on the Mirage tour on DVD. I have a dodgy copy on VHS and I love it but it really is a bad copy. :(

Of course it's about the butt.. ;)

And you can find copies of the actual video on ebay sometimes, I actually sold my copy, that I bought on ebay, I needed the money :(

I got my VHS (it's the one with the silver box that opens weird) from a seller on Amazon, I think. The first time I watched it I was blown away by the quality - it's really, really good.

I'd love to have an awesome-quality DVD of it. *sigh*

Hopefully they will reissue it, it's FM at their peak, of course The Dance is wonderful too and the new stuff, but those were the best days of Fleetwood to me :D

There are about three or four copies of it at this used video store where I live. I have the total crap import DVD from eBay... It was scratched when I took it out of the case, and it just got worse each time I played it, etc. I was going to email the seller and ask for a replacement, but I figured it wasn't worth it, because it took over three months to arrive, etc. I think I'm just going to pay the $20 for the VHS at the video store I was talking about. I agree, though- They need to reissue that thing ASAP. The versions of Rhiannon and SOTOM are absolutely mind-blowing.

I found my VHS copy in the clearance bin at Blockbuster last summer. Before that the only copy I had was taped off VH1's 1988 FM Weekend, so many songs were out of sequence and there was no Blue Letter or Songbird.

I have the VHS original tape that I bought when I used to work at a video store back in the late 80s. I asked my manager to PLEASE PLEASE buy it for the store. Then I bought it from the store before I left for college.

I DO hope they release it on DVD, to see & hear SOTM in DVD quality will be worth the price alone!

That would be cool to see.

Alas, it would be a struggle, since it was filmed and originally shown on HBO. That would be sone fun red tape to cut through. But hey, that's just what I think.

Here's to a lot of hopin'! Heck, they release that TITN video, they should consider this one too!!

Edit: I bought my copy of it on eBay, paid thirty dollars for it...
Hey, then the seller threw TITN for five bucks more!

I'd also like to see the Tusk Documentary on DVD. Or in any form, seeing as though I've yet to see it.

Definitely agree! This concert is Fleetwood Mac at their absolute peak. All the songs are incredible, especially Sisters of the Moon and Lindsey's orgasmic Not that Funny. I also love Blue Letter and Rhiannon- so much energy! My VHS copy that I bought on Ebay for like $20 just broke the last time I tried to play it. So disappointing! It wasn't very good quality but it was better than nothing!

I hope they don't take the probabably non-existant sales of the TITN DVD as a reason not to release any more old Fleetwood Mac videos. I haven't even seen it (TITN) and the reviews ya'll have given it have not given me a reason to! BUT the Mirage and Tusk videos really should be released~

I'd say it's worth getting it if you can find it cheap like I did - $15 Canadian. It's very very very dated and funny [Mick's coked-out(?) ramblings about the clock ticking away human incompetence, Stevie's hair!!!!] and not all that great. But it will make you appreciate The Dance even more. Every time I watch TITN I have to at least watch The Chain on The Dance

Stevie looks great in the close-ups, but frightening from a distance. The hair is one reason.

Another thing on my WishList? A DVD of aaaall the music videos, not unlike the petition that began here at the Penguin a while ago.

I made a VCD of all the ones I could find, and the quality on some of them (by 'quality,' I don't mean that some of it's fuzzy, because they're all really sharp & focused - by 'quality' I mean color balance, etc) - especially I Can't Wait (Stevie's kinda orange in my MPG) - is less-than-stellar.

I bought my original Mirage Live vhs on Ebay, for about 40 I think. It was worth it, it is an excellent copy, I even copied the audio to my computer, it is great. I definetly wish this would come out on dvd also with the Tusk documentry, if you are a fan then they are DEFINETLY worth seeing.

But I doubt if they will ever be released, if they are I am sure Stevie will want to reshoot some close ups like her other 80's taped concerts, haha I always hated that. But I wouldn't mind seeing Stevie do a performance of Sister of the Moon like that again. heh

What extra footage? I have the tape and remeber she sings this song, but do you mean an additional performance? Where was it?

How about the songs they videotaped, but didn't release, like HOLD ME!

Oh Mirage is great! I got mine on tape from someone and it's still holding up after a million watches.

SOM is really crazy and not my favorite part. Mine is Rhiannon, The Chain and NTF.

You see pot smoking, you see Stevie's best Deborah Harry impersonation and you see Lindsey completely underwearless.

I don't think this is them at their peak. I think they are all pretty messed up at this point. Stevie just lost Robin and her mind with it, Mick is gone, Christine is drunk, John is....John and Lindsey is in his IM THE BEST mode, IMO. But it's still great to watch and I'd buy it in a second on DVD.

TUSK doc is great. I think they are more at their best here. I would love the extras on here...like the photo shoot and the pie throwing party..this would be a great dvd.

And the Rumours Behind the Scenes...even better...you really see them at their peak for sure...wonderful crazy young FM before they are too burnt out and bitter...

Oh, I thought I was the only one who thought that Stevie had a slight Debbie vibe in the Mirage video. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed :).

And what about that cover!?!?!?!?

The cover confused me, thats why I though it could've been a bootleg I wasn't sure, I just assumed coz there were so many it may have been real, wasn't overly sure.

YES! YES! YES! I totally agree! Sometimes I think the Tusk era was the peak musically, but I love the edginess and weirdness of this Mirage concert. Stevie all in white-WOW. And I will now admit without shame that I LOVE Stevie's hair on that one. What's with all the 80s backlash? I guess big hair looks weird to the young-uns nowadays, with being deliberately bald :distress: all the rage now.

 These are three of my favorite things!
I've been watching this thing for 20 years now, and NTF still cracks me up every single time I see it!!! I'd just kill to see him do this one in person. Actually, I haven't watched this in a long time-thanks for the funny trip down memory lane everyone. :p

I love the edginess and weirdness of this Mirage concert. Stevie all in white-WOW.Have you guys seen those Mirage tour pics of Stevie in complete black? You can find them on a million different sites. When was that? She didn't wear all that black at any of the California shows (US Fest, Irvine Meadows, Forum or Oakland Coliseum) except for the black Chain cape. Did she put all that black on for the Halloween show in Austin, which was the last tour stop?

She did the same thing for the last Tusk tour stop -- all black, top to bottom. Even the night before at the same venue wasn't all black. Although have you seen those pics of the '80 Wembley shows? She's got a lot of black on in those, more black than I thought she typically had on in 1980. That was her "Everybody called me a witch so I took the black off" year.
