The birthday post got me thinking. Suppose you DID have the chance to plan her special day for her. What would you set up? (BTW, this is my thread, so whatever you write, I'm invited. :blob1:  )

I think an amusement park to ourselves would be a blast!!!!!!!!! I mean the roller coaster, the elevator drop ride, the haunted house. I just think it would be a blast esp. considering she has a great sense of humor!!!!!! And - although you may be there, she is sitting in the same cars as I am and YOU are in steerage

I think it'd be fun to take Stevie to Dave and Busters. For those who haven't been there, it's an adult version of Chuck E. Cheese and a total blast. Jake...if you have to come I suppose you can but it's going to be total girl talk so you have been warned ;)

Jake the third wheel will have to ride the go-kart by himself

You know, can you picture Stevie in bumper cars?? How hysterical would that be??

 Let me get my hands on those controls. You'll be sorry when the ferris wheel spins fast.

Actually, I like the image of New Blackdress flapping on a roller coaster. :)

Whatever. I'll do the rowing thing with AStevie. You get her to do the simulated dance game.

Like the Three's Company opening credits. Stevie is Chrissy, Christine is Janet, Lindsey is Jack, Chris Nicks is Larry, and Mick and John are the Ropers. Enjoy the caftan, Mick.

I used to go to D & B in Austin all the time. I'm not far from the Houston one but I haven't been there. D & B started in TX.

I've only been to the one in Philadelphia. We go each year for my birthday and have for several years. This is really mean (i probably shouldn't admit this) but we used to watch and see what the little kids would play and wait for them, then beat them to get tickets (the balloon game is like, 100 tickets!)

id take her on a hot air balloon ride over some mountains or something really scenic!!!! then we would take our dogs to the doggie spa and get pedicures while our dogs get pampered !! i think that would be fun
~shanna :D

Sorry, I'm picturing Legally Blonde with the pampered dog. The day would make Stevie want a hot dog real bad!
The balloon ride sounds cool. :wavey:

We would go shopping all day, have lunch, and then take a hike up to Enchanted Rock (here in Austin) and take in the beautiful scenery whereupon she would feel compelled to tell me her life story skipping no details.

I guess that's really more my birthday wish! It's hard not to be selfish in this scenario!

I'd take to her Saks and get her some new threads. Then I'd take her to get a faux tan (I'd get one, too). After that we'd slide on down to Spago for a tasty treat (no carbs, of course), only to end the day by jamming on the beach with a guitar and writing a song together.

I'm thinking of that quote about how she could never be an actress because she's a hippy & doesn't want to deal with the tan Hollywood types.

And I will be more than happy to lend my services to the Keep Lindsey Golden Brown All Year Round Foundation by applying tanning oil

The woman has amazing skin because she doesn't sit out in the sun and fry herself to bits. I think now that she's older, she'd probably burn.

Yeah, if she had some sort of tan. But she doesn't and, um, she doesn't. It justs looks bad when someone wears such stark colors when their skin is so pale. She needs to tan that pasty pale tail of hers. Use some bronzer, just do something! I'm sure Lindsey has some on hand. ;)

I like her skin healthy. I think our obsession with natural tans in pretty dangerous, and I don't think bronzers look very good on very fair people. I think Stevie likes that her look is retro.

Hmm...well what could you do with Stevie that she hasn't already done? Or where could you go that she hasn't seen?

If Stevie would have me, I think my day would involve relaxing together with some really nice pot. The evening would involve her, myself, a bowl of strawberries, some ice and candles. Oh and a king sized bed. You can use your own imagination there.

Nonsense. I think she wants people looking at her face, and a plain black outfit against a dark background makes those brown eyes stand out.
She looks positively ghostly in Mirage SOTM, but I'm cool with it.

I would include a hidden mountain and 200 loaves of bread, 2 skins of wine, 100 cakes of raisins and load them on donkeys and have a real she-bang in the forest and sing to the little forest animals. Minds you, I believe she is really Abigail from the Old Testament so that is my heart process, I think she is not from this century and her grace goes before her and around those that she meets. I love her and wish I were related to her!!

Instead of the hidden mountain story, I think it would be fun to go wine tasting all across the world, maybe pinot and happy merlot maybe some riesling and shiraz, hopefully Ms. Nicks is a drinker of the vine, I think just the basic food and drink theme are covered here,
peace
love
and more amour
