What is this venue like? I am going-I got a fairly good ticket-now I just need to know things like do they charge extra for parking? have food at reasonable prices(or is it outrageous like at Nissan)? that kind of thing..I'll be driving up from Virginia, the DC area-has anybody ever done this? shortest way to go?

I flew in for The Dance and HATED this venue.
Horrible traffic - half the crowd arrived late, it took people hours to get off the lot at the end until we watched somebody get out of a car and cut through the fence (we followed after them). Marissa has been there as well. Sorry to be so negative, but I post this knowing that they might have cleaned up the problems in the last few years. Hope you have a better time.

It is a terribly situated arena, but the layout is pretty run of the mill as far as sheds are concerned. But it is a newish (est. 1995) shed so it does have a pretty decent sound system, all things considered. I've seen Stevie and FM there a few times and they were all good experiences.

My recommendation would be to park somewhere in Philadelphia close to the river (Front Street?) and then to catch the ferry from Penns Landing (it takes you right to the Tweeter and Camden Aquarium). I think it is something like $5 round trip and it is worth every penny; it's better than parking in a different time zone and then having to sit in the post-concert traffic jam. Better still, take Amtrak to 30th St. Station and then take the subway to Penns Landing.

The venue is about 5 miles, about 10 minutes driving from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, the main train station. (30th and Market Streets) It looks to be just across the Delaware River on a map from Philly. Definitely a good alternative to those missing Nissan. I hope folks can get there.

It is my least favorite venue of all times. Of course, after going to Chastain, my expectations of a venue have now skyrocketed...truly one of the most beautiful places to see a show. Seriously though, it's about $10 to park. Most of the time, people park in the lot next to the aquarium (closer to Rutgers University...it's a slab of concrete that sort of sits out in the river a bit) and walk down to Tweeter. There have been many times (depending on the concert and how much it has sold out) where you have to get off a certain exit and park in what looks like the ghetto and walk to the venue. If you are staying in Philadelphia, you might want to consider taking the speedline over the bridge into New Jersey. I'm fairly certain it stops at Rutgers. However, i'm not sure how sketchy it is at night...I've never left from Camden.

Let me know where you're staying and if you're driving, I can give you directions

Doesn't the ferry crowd up, and also, doesn't it stop running before the concert ends? That's what I had heard.

I actually like the Tweeter Center. It's quite nice to watch the sunset over the river, though it is near a ghetto-ish part of town. I haven't had terrible experiences with parking--I've just gone and parked in one of the lots near the venue with the knowledge that I will have to wait a bit to get out. It's not nearly as bad as Nissan, which has one one-lane country road leading to it. Now that traffic is insane!
I've seen the Dead there a couple of times, which has been great fun. The funniest thing is that those venues in/near Philly always have tons of guys pulling big nitrous oxide tanks out of their vans and selling balloons for $5--it's wild. The security people drive around trying to catch people, so the guys just put the tanks in quick and drive to another place in the lot and pull them out again. Now I've never seen FM there so I don't know if the nitrous guys will be there Thurs, but I remember them being there for the TISL show I saw. Anyway, that's beside the point.

I think Stevie used the balloons for parts of the Shake The Cage Tour. ;)
