View Full Version : Anyone else missing this leg of the tour?

I didn't get tickets and I don't have the money to get tickets.
I am really depressed! I know I'm not the only one missing this.
Let's start a pity party!

Janet, I feel ya. I wasn't going to go myself after seeing them twice on the last leg. BUT...when I heard they were doing "Sara" I knew I had to do whatever it took to go. I've always wanted to see them do that song. So for that reason alone, it's worth being broke for the next couple of weeks.

i must admit i don't read the concert reviews here anymore due to deep and helpless jealousy. i'm only a poor student, and it took me several months to financially recuperate from the concerts i attended in london. if i didn't buy this new pc, or if i was willing to give up on amsterdam this summer, i'd be ordering tickets this very moment. it's very hard for me to hold myself, but i do. i keep reminding myself i'm sane and reasonable, and i deserve the summer to chill out and not slaving myself to death.

I mean, they aren't too pricey, are they?
This way, you'd get the experience of hearing Sara live (and all the other goodies packed into an evening with FM).
Just remember--they may not tour again for years (if ever) after this. I know we're all spoiled to death now thinking we're going to have this thing every few months, but I seriously doubt it.
I just don't want you to kick yourself later;-)

I probably won't go to the Houston show either. I saw them last October at the opening night of the Toyota Center, and I just can't see paying to see basically the same show again. Plus, the Houston show is the same day as the PBS broadcast, and two days after the DVD release. I'll just watch them on the tube.
If the set list were different, or they were doing the same songs with different arrangements, or I thought there was any possibility that something terribly exciting and NEW was going to happen, I'd be there. I'm starting to think that this whole last "Year (and a Half) of Fleetwood Mac" has been something of a fiasco IMHO. Which is sad, because I love the album, and I've been to every Stevie/Mac show since 1983 (yes, even the "Time" tour...).

Tell me about it. I was also a student when I saw them at both Manchester shows last year and had to borrow money so I could go. I spoke to Lindsey at the end of the second show and told him they had to come back to Britain - he said 'sure we will' and I'm holding him to that!!
Id be happy with a Stevie solo concert but given that she hasnt toured the UK since 1989 (I think), thats also looking doubtful!

You really need to go. As I told Carne in another thread, Red Rover and Sara alone are worth the price of admission. I still don't have tickets to Camden yet but I have a feeling as the week goes on, better seats will pop up. A lot of times at the Tweeter Center, if you sit on the lawn, they pull people down from the lawn and stick them in the pit.
Back in 1998 when Stevie came to the Tweeter for the Enchanted tour, my mom and I were sitting about 15 rows back and I still remember all of the sudden, her friend breezing past us being escorted by an usher. They play trivia games on the lawn sometimes and if you win, you get to sit in the pit. So, don't loose hope dear!! :xoxo:

or if i was willing to give up on amsterdam this summer
I don't want to try to sway you too much, but Amsterdam will always be there next summer adn every summer after that. Fleetwood Mac probably won't be here next summer and for all I know ever again. So if you wanted advice I'd say skip Amsterdam and go see fleetwood Mac. And then go to Amsterdam next summer.

Count me out, too. :P
But "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn". :) It was too much, when they we here. So draining... emotionally, financially, physically. Although it kills me that I don't get to experience IKINW first hand. But hey, it's so successful, with any luck it'll still be in the setlist the next time they come to Australia.

I was sort of hoping you were going to say "Without A Leg To Stand On" was going to be included. Janet, check your local radio stations. A LOT of radio stations have been giving out tickets prior to all the shows. Good luck! I hope you get there. And I would love to hear that B/N song!

I was debating on not going this summer..I'm a college student myself, and spent A LOT of money on their shows in 2003..and money can get tight at times...but decided to do 2 this summer...and I think I will be glad I did later...cuz like they said..who knows how long this will last? And I enjoy it..and if you're broke...somehow find 45 bucks and get a lawn seat, or the back of the arena...will still be fun..It's been a great "Year of Fleetwood Mac" for me and i dont regret any of it

I also won't be going, but shouldn't really complain having seen them multiple times in the US and Europe last year. I was supposed to go and see them at Jones Beach next week but because of work I can't take more than a few days off which is a bit crazy if you have to fly across the ocean to see them. So I am saving my money for the next Stevie solo tour- I would NEVER miss the opportunity to dance to Edge Of Seventeen :)

PS now that Destiny Rules is no longer in the set list, I feel a bit better about not going ;)

1. going to the states (other than nyc) costs about 3 times more than to holland for me.
2. i'm going with 3 of the best friends i have, i can't back up after i promised to go, that will make me a total jerk.
3. pleeeeease stop. i'm trying to resist temptation, i'm looking for reasons NOT to go, and not TO go. i do NOT have the 2000$ to do so :distress:

I thought the Amsterdam was about me and I wondered how Hawkeye knew!? LOL. I went in April though and that is a big reason I am broke.
Marissa, if you don't have seats yet, I hate to say this, but Ebay had 3rd row pit seats for only 350--175 a piece! Thats a steal!! This guy from Encore seats are selling great seats for not that much. If I had 175 Id so pay that in a second.
I just don't know if I could do lawn. I did lawn at the Tweeter when it was the E Center when I was seeing FM the first time in 1997. It seemed like everyone was into partying and not in the show. I'd HAVE to be like into the show. Plus last leg I was LUCKY with 4 shows but one show I was far back and that killed me too. I want to be close and I know the seats are available but I didn't save anything ( couldn't) and my rent is right when the show was. If it were later in the month...no problemo.
I NEED to see Sara and Red Rover. I NEED to see Come and Stand back again. I just NEED $200 to do itLOL!
I guess I will consider lawn since they are cheap and stuff...

Listen to your local classic rock radio stations. They are ALL giving away FM tickets. Free! Be on the listen. Hey, and they are better than the lawn seats at least! Good luck!

Well, I ain't going on this leg. I saw "Sara" live in 1979 (and on numerous Stevie solo shows) and that's enough for me. I would love to see it, but some of the boots I've heard have been lacking in vocal quality. And I'm certainly not shelling out $300.00 for two tickets to see ONE song!
If they had included just one other gem (Storms, Crystal or Sisters of the Moon as suggestions) I woulda been there in a heartbeat.
Amsterdam rocks for many, many reasons. Mostly the cultural/societal atmosphere- you can't beat the Dutch for all around intelligence, kindness and tolerance. Also, the pot bars rock the cazzzbah!

it's europe's sin city, great clubbin, sex everywhere, excellent drugs (both free and legal), cool shopping, a little 'city' you can cross by foot and just enjoy how beautiful and welcoming it is, it takes you about a day to feel at home there. i haven't been there for nearly 2 years  which makes my desire to get there pretty urgent.

Ahh~! I love that billy joel tune off of River of Dreams. Shades of Grey is another favorite of mine!...sorry off topic
But slightly on topic....I am catching them in cleveland this leg but I only saw them ONCE last year in buffalo...so between the dance and now, I will have only saw the mac three times. Im hoping the cleveland show dosnt get postponed or cancelled, hopefully she will be all better.

Man this Amsterdam does sound really great. It's like Las Vegas huh. And considering where you live tommer, I can't blame you for taking a whole summer in Amsterdam insead of a wekk in the States.

ahh are you serious? I went looking on ebay and couldnt find anything. Has the auction already ended? I've been having the worst time trying to find decent tickets at a reasonable price for the Camden show, so I just bought 9th row tickets for Hershey park from ebay for $195 for 2. When you factor in the price of the hotel for the night, I really wouldnt be paying anymore money to buy the tickets for the Tweeter. and 3rd row PIT!!!! I knew I should of waited longer :(

No boot can compare to the real thing live. Don't let this keep you from going!

I didn't see anything in the pit on e-bay either. However, there are some ticket brokers selling seats for an OK price if you're really looking to go to the Camden show.
