Well, after singing it in Atlanta with Lindsey blocking her view of Kristen and the baby on the stage, can't say I blame her. I think some **** hit the fan after Atlanta.

I'm pissed though.

She was in GREAT voice in Atlanta and apparently has been at every other show. Maybe this is an aberration or due to them having to leave early to fly out before curfew. Remember that was, I think, the case at that Texas show last Summer when them omitted GB.

In any event, I hope they put it back in because she NAILED it in Atlanta and I mean KICKED IT THROUGH THE ROOF!!!!! :blob1:

But why take out SILVER SPRINGS? If there's a curfew they take off the last song! It just doesn't make sense. And it pisses me off. That's one of my all time favorite FM songs and I really hope that it returns to the set in Charlotte!

There is no curfew for this particular venue and she cried during GB again like she did the other night. They're hubbing out of WP...they don't have to catch a plane.

SS is a staple in the Fleetwood Mac setlist. You'd take out GB, not SS.

This? Is serious.

You know what, I'm NOT going to see a show this leg. Unless it comes back in Charlette. That's the highlight of the show for me. I could put up with no DLMDA and could just bear DR but there aint NO WAY I'm putting up with this crap. And I know Cory Buckingham will have something to say about this.

The only thing that will make this exceptable will be if Siters of The Moon comes to the set in Charlotte. Of course if it does just come back in Charlotte all will be fine, but MY GOD Sara is in the set SIlver Springs is out, There is NO justice in the world.

I don;t know whether to consider that a good thing or a bad thing. It's good that, that means the song will come back when she gets better. But I don;t want another TISL tour fiasco. I hope it's avery samll sickness that will get better very quickly. And I guess I could see dropping Silver Springs if she was sick, it is one of the more vocally challenging songs. She belts it. Although so is GDW and BC. And from what i hear Sara gets up there in the end. I REALLY want to read these reviews to see if the sickness was noticeable in her performances.

They did not play Silver Springs. Alex, being the thinker of our group, asked Cory B. why not, and she said that Stevie is sick. But spit if I could tell, she did a kick @ss show in my book. Her performance was surely on par with Atlanta and a lot of the last shows of the US tour last year.

I also left the show all concerned about Lindsey too. He was great great great right up until Mick's drum solo. Then he left the stage (whereas he'll usually kick it on the floor on the side of the stage, mop his brow and look for someone to throw a towel to) and when he came back he totally missed his WT cue (Mick must have said his name 3 times before Lindsey started playing) and I noticed a cut over his eye when he came back to the mic. It was about 3/4 inch long. He kept kind of grimacing. He also had some blood dripped on his shirt. Anyway, it was weird because at the first part of WT he was completely cool (he was totally joking around and stuff even) but then he came back really different. He missed the first line or 2 of Don't Stop. When they went to do the bow, I guess Stevie could tell there was something wrong and I saw him motion to his eye and she said, "what happened?" He just kind of shrugged and stomped off stage. Didn't sign an autograph or wait for Mick to finish his "be good to each other" speech or anything.

I wonder if someone threw something at Lindsey while he was onstage? I remember the ol' Journey doctumentary "Frontiers And Beyond" and it showed Neal Schon getting hit with a bottle that some putz threw and it nailed him right in the head...But being the soldier he is, Neal carried on (Even though he was obviously injured and very po'd).

With all due respect, didn't she also tell us Stella was NOT at the Atlanta show when MANY fans saw the baby with their own eyes? In your opinion, was Stevie "off" on any of her performances in such a way that made you think she was under the weather? Because Joy posted in her review that Stevie was full of energy, as much or even more so than Atlanta. I just don't understand how she could be too sick to do SS but full of energy to perform Stand Back so well.

I'm going to the CLT show on Thursday and I hope things are back to normal!

Joy didn't notice he was bleeding until after he came back from WT. She said up until he left the stage everything was fine. She said he didn't seem angry or anything when he left, he just left. And when he came back, he was bleeding and seemed "off."

Unfortunately a common occurrence. Something else could have happened though. He might have hit himself with the guitar or the mic. Hitting yourself with the mic is expecially very common. The way Lindsey sings at the mic, it's a wonder that he hasn't broken a few teeth.

Or maybe his wife wacked him over the head backstage. Or he tripped.

I think someone above said what I was thinking too. "Sick" can mean alot of things. I will say that Silver Springs, IMO, was better than the Dance on Saturday in Atlanta. I mean she totally blew it out of the house. During the first part of this tour, she was rather subdued during Silver Springs but not Saturday night. She rocked and rocked hard. She also was very physically expressive with the foot stomping and mic bending and fists flying. I thought she would never be able to top the Dance dvd but me thinks she did. Even LB was better, pounding his chest and really giving it right back to her. Maybe the intensity of the song on Saturday was something she did not want to repeat on Tuesday, so she decided to take a break from it? I can't see the song being dropped for good however. IMO it was probably just a one night thing.

I do hope we hear something about ole LB because the thought of him bleeding from the head worries me also. I realize it was described as a minor cut but still, he seemed off after he came back from his WT break. He normally sits on the side of the stage during Micks solo, maybe he had to pee?
Ah, this band..always confusing!

All I know is, if they drop Sara it's over for me. I have waited my whole life to hear that song live, and the way they keep pulling the rug out from under us makes me think that maybe it will be next to get axed. I mean who knows? I will be in utter shock if SS remains off the setlist, I don't think they'll drop it for good. However, it looks like they're mixing things up every night, so I guess we can't count on anything this leg. I like that and I don't, there are a few songs I wish would remained fixed--SS being one of them.

I think it's patently unfair to ass-ume that there's some "trouble in Shangri-La" or that this has anything to do with the ALLEGED "Lindsey blocking Stevie's view of Kristen" incident. I'm sorry, but whenever I try to picture that, I LOL. I keep imagining Kristen holding a baby over her head, like Tim Duncan, and LB is Shaq, playing guard, lunging left and right to "block" Stevie's view. :D

Ass-uming what Cory said is true, PERHAPS Stevie began feeling worse and worse as the show progressed, and didn't want to give a half-assed performance of SS. And THEN she bashed LB in the face with her tambourine backstage, and THAT'S why he was bleeding! :D

Which is simply absurd. The shippers out there come up with the craziest bunch of BS ever known to mankind when it comes to a certain love triangle that they believe exists, namely that of Lindsey, Stevie, and Kristen. For some strange reason, people love to tear down Kristen and write off her marriage as a joke. The craziest thing I've heard is that she purposely got pregnant to get Linds to marry her, just to spite Stevie. How ridiculous! And what makes the comments even more hysterical is the fact that no one knows a thing about Kristen and Lindsey's relationship. And they shouldn't, it's private.

LOL!! I had not heard that one. Where does it end!?

Interestingly, I've read reviews of the Atlanta show in which Kristen and Stevie were high-fiving each other. There seems to be a belief that at least for part of one song, Kristen may have been at the side of the stage with the baby, but the baby's head was covered with a blanket or something. In other words, even if it did happen, it was likely for a very limited amount of time, surely not enough to ruin the child's hearing for life, as some would have us believe.

Be that as it may, the anger that Lindsey was apparently venting on stage most likely had to do with the technical glitches during the show, not as a result of some issue involving the fantasy love triangle. Someone said the beginning of Big Love was iffy. Also, during Come, Lindsey's guitar seems to have crapped out and he had to have it replaced. Being the perfectionist that he is, I'm sure these recurring technical problems are driving him crazy. One pretty good theory that was shared with me today is that he was so pissed that he went backstage, threw something that ricocheted and caught him right above the eye, hence the bleeding. That seems entirely plausible to me, especially considering Lindsey's penchant for throwing stuff around.

Farrah (from Burnish) saw human legs dangling from beneath the blanket. It was a baby. Sharon (sulamith) saw the baby. I can't even count on one hand how many people saw that baby on stage during Atlanta. Kristen came on stage with Stella during WT and didn't leave until Lindsey sprinted by them, off stage, after GB and the bows.

Well, many of these people did not and do not even know each other. In other words, it was not just the usual shippers. Other people who are not shippers saw this as well. I mean if it was one group, that would be one thing. But, the people who say they saw a baby do not really know each other. So, that is a little scary to me. Please quote back to me where I called anyone a liar. I am merely suggesting that perhaps a handful of people who thought they saw something didn't really see it. There are plenty of instances of this kind of thing occurring. Surely you're familiar with the phenomenon.

"Liar" is not a term I throw around lightly. You may not have said "liar" but that's what you insinuated with your posts in this thread and many, many others. As far as Cory goes, yes, she is Lindsey's niece but she is also working for the band. All I am saying is that open your mind to the fact that she may have been told what to write in the tour diary, perhaps Lindsey & Kristen did not want it mentioned that the children were in Atlanta. I guess we've all forgotten the old tour diaries written when JToad was heading the fan club, it brings to mind the good old days of "Baghdad Bob." I know you think that the shippers are stupid idiots with nothing better to do than make up stories (you've definitely shown that through your endless feuds with posters on the BN board) but the fact is that that baby was in Atlanta and Stevie was feeling just fine last night in West Palm. I realize that not everyone subscribes to the belief that Lindsey and Stevie are having any sort of romantic liasons off stage, and that's perfectly fine you can believe what you want to believe. But at least have a little bit of respect for the grown women (and men) who do. There's no need to compare this situation to the Salem witch trials. I'm sure you were just saying that to be smart, but I am a 23 year old woman going back to college for the second time, a full time job, and stressful stuff going on in my life just as all of us do. Why in the hell would I go around posting on message boards posting crap about a rock band just to get people riled up? This is not part of some mass hallucination or some deluded shipper conspiracy. Please, give me a break!

Are we talking about the same group that has whipped itself up into believing that Lindsey is picking up women at bars when he's not running off the stage after the show to carry on his romance with Stevie, even though they usually stay at different hotels?

To my knowledge, people who do not post on Nancy's board have reported seeing the baby as well. SO, even if you totally ignore everyone on Nancy's board and thus obviate the allegedly tainted shipper testimony, other non-biased eyewitnesses exist. That to me suggests there was something seen. But, others may differ and chose to discount all of the eyewitness testimony no matter how unrelated it is, etc.

I don't understand the need to make fun of others' accounts of what happened. Why does this same argument have to start up everywhere? Why can't you all just let people have their opinions and be done with it? To imply that this was some "mass hallucination" is, to me, as ridiculous as the "surrogate mother" story, and to equate this whole thing with that story to begin with is downright ridiculous.

I know you think that the shippers are stupid idiots with nothing better to do than make up stories (you've definitely shown that through your endless feuds with posters on the BN board) but the fact is that that baby was in Atlanta and Stevie was feeling just fine last night in West Palm.

I'll let the first part of that statement, which is your words not mine, stand on its own. Further, whatever feuds I may or may not have in other boards should remain in those boards. "The fact is..." well, you don't know the facts. None of us really do. I've made a decision to believe in what Cory Buckingham has written.

But at least have a little bit of respect for the grown women (and men) who do.

I believe these "grown women and men" should have respect for the children involved here, children who soon enough will find a lot of this swill on the web and perhaps end up having problems as a result. We all need to show respect and human dignity. But that is something that should apply to everyone, not just to those of us with whose opinions you disagree.

There's no need to compare this situation to the Salem witch trials.

Why not? It's rather apropos in my way of thinking.

Let me start by saying I don't really doubt anyone's story of a baby sighting, I wasn't there and if Jason and Meredith claim it happened, I'm inclined to believe them because I find them to be trustworthy.

However, I think that Carne is questioning the validity of this sighting because it originated from certain shippers who have made the outlandish claims about the surrogate mother and the "Kristen-only-got-pregnant-so-Linds-would-marry-her" theory. I can't fault him for that because if those same people said that to me, I'd be forced to tell them that my farts smell like dandelion wine 'cuz they is some dumb folk. ;)

I'm not arguing "something" wasn't seen. I am suggesting that perhaps people saw with their eyes what their minds told them to see. Think of all those people who "see" John sitting next to Jesus in The Last Supper when it is quite evident that Da Vinci painted a woman, Mary Magdalen.

What's the big f-ing deal? Some people saw a baby. There's no guarantee that it was or was not Stella, but there was a baby. Two of the people who've mentioned it- Jason and Farrah- are people who have been around for a long time and wouldn't make silly claims. Jason's not a shipper, and Farrah's not a DELUSIONAL shipper, so who cares?

There was a baby. It was Stella or it was someone else's. If it WAS Stella, then I can understand perfectly well why Cory would say Stella wasn't there. Personally, I would feel rather uncomfortable if I were Lindsey and Kristen to have god knows how many possible psychos on the Internet know that the baby was traveling with them.

Supposedly, Silver Springs got the axe because every time it's performed, it makes Stevie think about her surrogate child (the second-coming of Blanket Jackson that some have spotted in the audience) and it makes her sad because she can't be with him. There was an altercation at one show over this where Stevie and Lindsey got into a fight backstage and Stevie cut him with one of the rocks on her finger, only to get Linds into a piss-poor mood for the rest of the show. Kristen saw this, attacked Stevie after the show. Some believe that it was a high-five some believe it was a bitch-slap. You decide. In any case, Silver Springs was axed because she was sick. Or, tired, as I heard. Or, there was a curfew.

Or...at least this is what I heard from some fans.

I understand that. However, what I don't think most FM fans understand is that the "surrogate mother" bullcrap was made up by a poster who NONE of the able-minded shippers (like myself, Marissa, and many many many others) claim at ALL. Of course, I think this is the stupidest story I've ever heard, and unfortunately it makes all of us (the ones who do have valid points and the information to back it up) look very, very foolish. Of course the "surrogate mother" story is RIDICULOUS and sounds like it came out of the worst kind of fanfic drivel. Just know that not ALL of us are that out of touch with reality! But isn't that how it is, always.... one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch... *shakes head*

As far as the children, I am worried about them most of all. I lived this situation as the oldest of three children whose parents stayed in a marriage for us and us only. Everytime I think about Will, Leelee, and Stella I think about that pain. So I really think it is unfair for ANYONE to say that I'm not thinking about those children-- it is BECAUSE of them that I think this situation is JUST NOT RIGHT! :distress:

Ok, {yawn} baby, or no baby, maybe it was Bubbles the chimp....back to "Silver Springs" not being played due to Stevie having some sort of illness that kept her from singing it...

...back in 1976, I saw them at the GW Forum (as OPENING act for Dave Mason), two songs after Stevie just lit up the place with one of those era's "Rhiannon"s, they STARTED into "Landslide" but stopped after the first line, Stevie turned to Lindsey, put her hand to her throat and shook her head...Lindsey apologized for not finishing the song because Stevie had a bad cold. Of course, she hit every note on all her backgrounds on "Over My Head" & "Why"...and later she was in fine "tongues" during the crescendo of "Green Manalishi"...but after stopping "Landslide", she didn't do another lead vocal the rest of the set. And because they weren't the headliner, they didn't do "Blue Letter", they did "Rattlesnake Shake" instead. So, I take it at face value that she didn't do "Silver Springs" because she was sick.

After making up at their hotel over a couple pints of moo-shu pork, Stevie and Kristen went to apologize to Lindsey. They knocked on his door. No answer. Knocked again. No answer. Then they heard a squeal. Kristen opened the door to find three random shippers, screaming about some sort of "Tusk." In any case, all three were bloodied up by Stevie and Kristen and have exacted revenge by posting the exact seats and location of Kristen's new baby, Stella. And they're still waiting for the sweaty towel Linds promised 'em.

I'm not sure we're referring to the same thing. My concern for the children is that people come on these boards and pass on rumors, some of which metamorphose with every telling into a bigger monster, and that this stuff will be archived somewhere, and that some day one or more of these children are going to chance upon all the hurtful speculation. The voyeuristic impulses that are compelling people to post some of the drivel I've read about Lindsey and Stevie could one day have real consequences.

BTW, To end all discussion of why SS wasnt performed. I overheard certain key people discussing Stevies condition the night before the show(at their hotel)! Im now 100% certain SS was taken out in advance in fear she wouldnt be able to do it. I hope this puts an end to any conspiracy theories or things like that...jeez people.

thus, my original comment and hopeful plea "TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF STEVIE"

I mean CB said she dropped DR because her vocal coach said not to sing it for fear of its effect on her vocal chords. Now, SS is dropped in advance for what I can only speculate is the same thing. Fortunately, they have a few days off!!!!!

Again, I am praying for her and her voice because I am scared of a repeat of 2001.

correct me if I'm wrong but when Stevie was sick for the TISL wasn't it quite noticeable. Wasn't Stevie's voice clearly off. If everyone's saying she was amazing last night, it makes me feel very optimistic that she'll be just fine. People going to charlotte I want you to bring laptops to the show and report to us DURING the concert as to whether or not silver Springs was played

And on a semi related note, I REALLY hope a bootleg of this Atlanta show surfaces. It seems like it was quite the show. Especially this unbelievable Silver Springs we keep reading about. The Chaistain park show might be one to go down in the record books for at least this tour.

Seriously. If a bootleg (I'm hoping for video, but I'd go for anything) of this show comes up, I'm going to try my darndest to get ahold of it.

I actually told my mom about this show & my hopes for it being bootlegged tonight at dinner.

Condition? The word condition makes it seem as if something more than just a cold is going on w/ her. Am I just being paranoid? I just worry about her.

Susie, i'm sure she'll be fine. As someone who's been singing since she could talk, I can say with great certainty that Silver Springs is not the most taxing vocal in the setlist. I spoke to a few people who were at the show last night after it was over. She was excellent vocally on every song. Sooo, I doubt it's anything terribly serious. Just being on the road itself can be highly stressful and draining. I don't think Alex meant "condition" in the way you're taking it. I'm sure it's nothing to be freaked out about and if she really is indeed feeling a bit under the weather, i'm sure they're doing everything they can to remedy the situation

This is what I'm concerned about - she seems to get sick (either her asthma, bronchitis or both) each tour (TISL & Enchanted Tours both come to mind, as does Street Angel.)
Hopefully she's just learning from experience & taking it easy before she wears herself out & they have to postpone or cancel any shows.

Oh, silly dreamer! Of course it won't.

Of course dropping the song from the setlist had to do with her voice. Just because the woman wasn't attached to an intravenous tube doesn't mean her vocal chords weren't hurt.

Too true Carne. My friend is a singer.. funnily enough in an FM tribute band and if she has even a hint of a cold or flu she has to take it easy on her voice. And on worse occasions she has to not sing at all or risk damaging her vocal chords

OMG - I just thought of something else - Anna Lee, aka, Lila Quartermaine on General Hospital, died earlier this week. Isn't Stevie a GH fan?? And with the recent tragic loss of Tony Randall, THAT'S why she couldn't do SS!! It was written about Felix and Oscar!! The pieces fit, people!!!! :p

Absolutely. And Stevie wrote The Odd Couple theme song, but they cut out her lyrics. They ended up as the song "Rock A Little".

I would guess opera singers take much better care of their vocal chords than rock vocalists. One of the things I've noticed, since I run around in singer/songwriter and band circles, is that we all take extra good care of our instruments. I've seen guys get sick about putting dings on their guitars (OK, myself included!) but hardly anyone seems to take as much caution with their voices. One friend in particular was fairly coarse from a cold at one point last fall, went up on stage for a short set and toward the end he was missing evey other syllable. And the ones that came out sounded like a well-worn horn on a 49 Ford. It made me decide then and there that if I am having trouble talking, I have no business getting in front of the mic.

If that was the case, Christy would be posting about how Lindsey stripped and sung "Time Bomb Town" while sending her air-kisses at each show she went to, and Jason would've posted about how Stevie came down to shake his hand and nuzzled her cleavage in front of him for inspection. But it ain't happened yet.

Thanks for the post. That is a really cool story.

And it is further evidence that Stevie scrapped SS due to illness or a sore throat. I'm positive it'll be back for future shows.

Just being on the road itself can be highly stressful and draining. You must be kidding. Being on the road with Fleetwood Mac is "highly stressful" & "draining"?! Do the Stevie Nicks fans have any concept of reality left in their wild, wild hearts?

Stevie's always getting sick because she's around everybody else's children. It's the preschool syndrome for the childless aunt, which everyone has either experienced or heard about. Parents build up some immunities to all the little rugrats; non-parents don't. Add to that the typically germ-laden air in airplane cabins -- especially when runny-nosed little kids are around -- & there you have it.

I don't know about any of you, but I'd revel in being on the road, especially if I was part of Fleetwood Mac. Private jets, daily massages, luxurious hotel suites with jacuzzi baths, c'mon! It's not like any single one of them are actually lugging the equipment around and setting it all up; all they have to do is sing and play their instruments every other night. And they get millions for doing it, too. If that's stressful, sign my ass up.

Diss, I have been on the road for a few weeks at a time before, and it is HIDEOUS. Granted, I wasn't at the Four Seasons, getting massages, but I was staying in nice places and expense accounting everything. After about 4 nights of not being in my own bed, I hated it. Moving to a new room every day or two, not being around family and friends really sucks. Plus I hate flying. Granted the millions might make a difference, but I was offered a huge show in New York 2 years ago, and didn't even want to do THAT. I wouldn't have been traveling, just in a diff city for 8 months. No thanks. I love my home.

ITA - I mean I love to go places and do often and mostly for pleasure. I cannot imagine having to travel that much for work no matter what creature comforts might make it better than a Holiday Inn

You should be slapped for turning it down, Sparks. New York and a show? I'd be in heaven. No more small clubs for my sorry ass, hello New York!

I love to travel and I love staying in hotels, I could do it every day of the year. I think it just depends on the kind of person you are. :)

Perhaps I should be slapped. I probably would have done it 5 or 6 years ago. But, I am old now, and have tons of responsibilities - pets, bf, properties, etc. It took a long time to get my little hideaway and establish everything, so I don't want to leave. On second thought, I only have one bird now, and the relationship is pretty much in the toilet, so maybe I could take off for a bit ! I have heard they are crewing up for that new Law and Order spinoff, and I have a friend on SVU...
