Hey~
usually FM uses Atlanta as a hub and flies in to each show in the Carolinas and back out that night since it is just a short hop. The best place to find them is at the airport, I think they usually come in around 3-4:30.
good luck! :wavey:
hmmm so you think they will be staying at their hotels in atlanta???????
They're hubbing out of West Palm Beach this time. They stayed in Atlanta for one night (Friday-- Stevie at the FS where we were, and the rest of the band at the Ritz Carlton Buckhead) because they came right from the show in Nashville.
I would suggest going to the airport if you want a "sighting." Or getting to the venue early :) I-85 around there can get pretty nasty during rush hour so just be prepared.

I'm going to the Charlotte show now!!! I've got a 7th row ticket and am so excited. I heard from a friend of mine who works at the Westin downtown that the band was staying there... but that was a month or two ago, plans could have changed. I second what Merf said... the university area as a whole will be insane with traffic, so leave plenty early. That entire area is really bad during normal rush hour... it's downright aweful when you throw in a concert at Verizon. I live near downtown in the Dillworth/Myers Park area now, so I'm thinking that if I leave by 6:30-7 I'll be ok hopefully.

I'd leave earlier than that, hon!!!
:wavey:
Did you get your ticket from ticketmaster? My brother and I are going but still don't have tickets yet because all I've been able to pull up is section 5 and we want to be in 1, 2, or 3.
uh oh !! im co ming all the way from atlanta and have t leace to come back right after the show!!! oh well looking forward to seeing some of you there! i got 3rd row center but hope fully they will let up go up to the stage! i have never been to charlotte. you any of you guys know if the amphitheater has a barrier thing between the 1st row and the stage?? god i hope not???
~shanna
I've never seen a barrier at any Mac show I've been to so I doubt they'd start in Charlotte. :) It's a 4 hour drive without traffic. You're going to be getting in pretty late, good luck hon!

I actually got mine from a ticket broker last night (www.maximtickets.com). Ticketmaster did have up a 20th row yesterday, but I didn't snatch it in time. So I'm in section 1 row G, I really wanted to be on Stevie's side... but that's the cards I'm dealt. I was on her side for Greenville and Greensboro both, so I suppose it's time to rub elbows with Lindsey ;) . I am sort of a ticket snob... I won't go see the Mac unless I'm in gold circle  . Just the thought of people who only know Rumours and LindsAy Buckingham being closer to the band than me just irks me lol.
BTW- is the band still starting about 30 minutes late? That'll decide when I leave too. What do you suggest Merf?

I just went there too and they have some pretty good prices for tickets.... I don't know if 6th row center is close enough for me though ;) I may just have to go with that because it really has been a lock down on Ticketmaster!!!! They also still have 7th row Lindsey's side so hmm....
The band took the stage at 8:20 in Atlanta I believe. So I guess if you leave by 6:00 at the latest you'll be there with plenty of time and not have to rush.

Thanks Hayley! I saw that but I need one for my brother too. :) There are some 6th row center (a pair) on Maxim that I may buy if they're still there tomorrow- they're only a bit over face.
I just found out Sections 1 & 3 start at row D. http://www.tickets4u.com/PricedEventDetail.asp?EventID=282428 Thanks Tgee for that link.

Have you been watching ticketmaster today Merf? Some awesome seats have come up. In fact I canceled my broker tickets and got some off there. I'm now in section 2 row L. I just can't wait! I'll be wearing my Mirage Jersey that I only drag out for Mac concerts anymore :woohoo: .

I'm not watching Ticketmaster anymore, it will just piss me off! My seats are in the 6th row center (Sec 2 Row F) with my brother, we didn't pay too much for them either so whoo hoo!!!!
If that front row pops up when I get to the show I may just have to buy it!  I'm insane! We will see you there!!!!!!

I just got in from the Charlotte show... man is my throat sore! :] Lots of fun... no Silver Springs again :( . Lots of rumors floating around from those who did the backstage tour about Stevie and Lindsey fighting badly from the roadies. Not a bad concert... still nowhere near as awesome as Greenville was last year!

Christy's only asking because she hopes the bandaid is still there in TX. She wants to ziplock bag it, capture the DNA and make a Lindsey clone

Quick points:
My brother and I ended up front with the rest of the first three rows :) Right in front of Lindsey's mic! (We got 3rd row at the last minute)
I met Mike B. :wavey: It was good to meet you!
Silver Springs was gone again. Stevie seemed VERY drained while not at the mic, but I think it had a lot to do with the heat. Her singing was not effected at all if she is feeling under the weather. Stand Back was rocking though! I have a lot of respect for that woman, if she really is feeling like crap that she was sticking it out for us. She just seemed drained and unhappy until she got at the mic and she gave it to us!!!!!! (I say unhappy because she was crying during a few songs). She gave a STRONG performance overall, but in my opinion, my perception was telling me she was feeling a bit off tonight (psychically/emotionally I guess you would say) I think touring is really getting to her.
Lindsey was VERY winded after "Come" right into "Sara," he looked right at me and his eyes got big, he was sort of like "oh my God." Totally out of breath. I worry about him :( The cut over his eye was covered with some derma bond stuff. Lindsey sang towards Sharon and Jana at the end of "Sara" in the part where they harmonize beneath Stevie's melody line.
Stevie got a cowboy hat from someone in the audience during GYOW and put it on her head for the rest of the song. I got some great pics of that! :)
OK More later..... sleepy. My younger brother, Will, (he's 17) was with me. This was his first FM show and he says it's the best concert he's ever been to. He couldn't believe how close we were. He said he felt so honored to be a part of such history. He really had an amazing time!!!!!!!
And we were like 4 deep in the front row... The crowd was rocking, the place was full, but MAN was it hot!!!!!!

Same here, Merf! :wavey:
I hope someone got alot of pictures of Stevie in the cowboy hat...damn, that was cool.
I'm still pissed they dropped Silver Springs (and DR...and DLMDA) though. It was weird hearing ISA lead right into Tusk. And is it just me or does the drum solo leading up to Stand Back and Mick's "vesterbation" (TM ChiliD) during WT get longer with every show? Sheesh.
Still, this one held quite a few high points for me. I thought Sara sounded really good tonight and Red Rover is amazing. Sara should have been in the set all along, it comes off way better than Gypsy. And IKINW is alot of fun.
It was damn hot though...Lindsey looked really worn out during parts of the show (not that it affected his performance). They better get used to it, they've got a long hot summer ahead of them!
I hope someone got alot of pictures of Stevie in the cowboy hat...damn, that was cool.
I got a couple. :)

Folks, let's have some compassion here. Doesn't anyone care that Stevie may actually be suffering from something that is not necessarily obvious on stage but is real? She already dropped a song, Destiny Rules, to protect her voice. Couldn't Silver Springs be a similar situation?
Let's just all hope she gets better from whatever it is. And if Silver Springs stays out of the set, so be it.

Why so surprised? Think about it this way. As a fan, why would I want her to screw up her voice. If staying healthier means forgoing a couple of songs, so be it. Actually, Silver Springs is something I was looking forward to, but I'll be OK without it.
Come to think of it, the more Stevie songs get zapped from the setlist, the closer I get to my wish of a solo Lindsey tour! ;)
(Now you didn't expect me not to take a little zing, did you?)

Ahhh and classic Carne is back :D Solo Lindsey tour....someday... she says with doubt in her voice....
So, you're going to Jones Beach. Heading to any other shows? I had thought about Jones Beach but a friend of mine got tickets for Holmdel in the 2nd row and 4th row for Hershey so the trek to Jones Beach is essentially out of the question now.

Jones Beach is it for me. In all seriousness, as much as I love music, I hate the concert-going experience. Big crowds bother me, to begin with, and there's always a few jerks in the audience who detract from enjoying the show. Last time I was at Jones Beach was for ... Sade (excellent stage presence, very classy, great voice, great band. Gorgeous!) Before that, I had gone to the Colisseum for FM, after which I pretty much wrote off arena shows.
I'll take an intimate show at Irving Plaza or Roseland any day before I go to another big-venue show. I'm making the exception for Jones Beach because it's my birthday. I hope I don't end up regretting it.

Sade?!?! I am duly impressed...and JEALOUS AS HELL. I still think that instead of Macy Gray, Stevie should have paired up for Bombay Sapphires with her
You won't regret it...Red Rover itself for a hardcore Lindsey fan is worth the price of admission as is Sara. And c'mon dude, it's your birthday...live a little ;)

Yeah, that was probably me. I know she had something in her mouth and because I've had bronchitus for 4 weeks (no contact with Stevie, don't blame me  ) and had a cough drop in my mouth at the same time, it seemed only logical. I could be wrong. She must've gotten it down fast though, hard to sing with. EDIT: Don't me wrong, I don't want to continue the is-she-sick-or-not thing; I take cough drops merely to open up my throat. As a singer, that could be something she does on a regular basis.

There's an old interview out there somewhere with Stevie talking about letting little bits of cough drops dissolve on her tongue during the show to help her keep her voice going and throat opened. I don't think it's good for her, with her on again off again sickness to be playing outdoor venues anymore. JMHO.

My sister goes to school in Raleigh and I just talked to her on the phone-- it's 102 degrees there today. It was hot in Charlotte yesterday but not nearly that hot! Stevie's in for a rough one tomorrow night. :(

It does seem like we skipped spring here in Raleigh and went straight to summer. The temp is about 88. With the humidity and whatever else they factor in, the heat index is 99 or so. It is definitely HOT, and the forecast calls for more of the same tomorrow. I can't even imagine what it will feel like on stage!

Poor Steves. Maybe they can modify her wardrobe a bit? No scarf and gloves? It's just going to be too hot. Maybe they'll bring out more fans to the stage. Every once in a while last night we'd get blown on by a fan and it was heavenly. It was probably 100 degrees+ where we were standing up by the stage (that was mostly because we were four deep up there-- but hey, I wasn't complaining!) After every song last night I noticed she went to Mick's drum kit and drank out of a cup. While Lindsey was doing the beginning of ISA, she went over to Brett, who stood behind her and put his hands on her shoulders and squeezed her a bit. She then began drinking out of a mug with a straw very slowly. She messed with her hair and was fanning herself. She must have been very hot. :( It worried me. The humidity in the southeastern US is like nowhere else :(

I'm fairly new here and have been lurking for a bit. I could relate to all of your post, Carne. I thought I was the only one who just hated venues and large crowds. I'm making an exception to see the band here in Calif. the end of June. I also love music but don't enjoy the concert going experience as a rule.
Also, I saw Sade a few years back and it was one of the most relaxing and yet scintillating shows I've ever seen...and at the same huge venue I'm seeing the Mac perform! She does have a lot of class.
Just wanted to say hi, introduce myself and comment on what a great site you have here :wavey:

AWESOME cowboy hat pic Merf!!! ;) altho i see this thread has already moved north.... i just had to jump in and say that it was a HOT night in Charlotte for sure... Lindsey was dripping wet by the second song, but Stevie stayed cool as a cucumber all night.. i swear i never saw the lady sweat! could have been the industrial fan vents she had blowing on her mic all night... those ribbons do look nice in a breeze... and the breeze felt soooooooooo good! she seemed a little tired when she was out of the spotlight, but she is one helluva performer when the lights are on her.. the lady has class... and man can she spin! Stevie gives everything she can every night... we are blessed by her love for all of us... blessed by her love of the music that keeps her coming back night after night to sing her heart out no matter what the consequences... i never thought i would hear Sara again... but 20-something years later, here she is... singing it to a whole new group of fans... i have not been following them around like i used to, but the vibe i got from her and Lindsey was in no way negative... they smiled at each other... leaned on eachother... danced together in circles for a long time during Tusk.. holding eachother close despite Lindsey's sweat-soaked shirt... the security in Charlotte was unbelieveably cool... cameras were everywhere and they let us go crazy! lots of people standing at the stage before the show and we stayed there all night! we had such an awesome time! it was crowded, but that's part of the fun! sharing the music with other people who love it as much as we do! the only bummer was the excess of alcohol and the loud people drinking it! i did have one crazy observation....
since i was in a non-monitor spot at Stevie's feet. people wanted to put stuff on the stage over my head ALL nite and OMFG... for the last 3 songs this chick kept yelling in my ear she wanted to get the roses off stevie's mic and stick them in her panties ... would we please help her.. like WTF???? finally i told her.. for crissakes PLEASE wait till after the show. she said "oh, i never thought of that, i'm young" and shut up... and then... after Mick's speech... when the crew came out to take the equipment away... did anyone else see this girl???? in jeans and a T-shirt.. i guess they thought she was with the crew.. OMFG... she climbed ON the stage, she stood in front of Stevie's mic and grabbed the roses... petals went flying everywhere.... she proceeded to start stuffing them down her pants! then she walked stage right... no one onstage stopped/saw her... people in the front started yelling RIBBONS!!! (not me LMFAO!!!) so she came back to center stage, and started to try and untie stuff from Stevie's mic.. at that point, one of the roadies whipped the mic away from her... and she continued to stand there.. unfreakin believable!!!!!
have fun in Raleigh!! it's going to be another HOT one! :]

i have no clue... it was one of the wackiest things i have ever seen  the thing is, the roses she so desperately wanted, were totally crushed in her pants! and after she got away with that, she didn't know what to do... just walked back and forth on the stage.... LOLOLOL!
i had NO idea she was gonna try to do something like that... thankfully the band had already went off
