View Full Version : Movies you HATE!

What movies do you really hate!
I can only think of three I despised last year.
The Hours - the only interesting thing about that film was Nicole Kidman's fake nose. I spent the entire movie wondering when it would fall off. Pretentious and horrible.
The Recruit and Daredevil - yes, the Colin Farrell factor. The Recruit was one of the most stupid movies I've ever seen. Why the hell was Pacino slumming it in this trash, while Daredevil... Ben Affleck in red leather, need I say more? The least exciting superhero movie ever made.
I'm sure I'll think of plenty more...

Spaced Inavders lol...I was young when I saw this and STILL hated it, it's the first (and to my memory only) movie I've ever walked out on.
Sirens...with Hugh Grant, I just couldn't get into it at all...

National Lampoons Senior Trip - I made the mistake of seeing this as a teen with my parents and it was just filthy. Talk about wanting to slide down in your seat. LOL
Signs - The buildup was HUGE for this movie, but I felt the payoff was a disappoinment. :(
Any movie with Tom Cruise or Adam Sandler. Bleck!!!

Shawshank Redemption-Overblown & over-rated
Bull Durham-More like Bull****...
Star Trek 3, 4, 5 & Generations-Awful acting from William "Wide load, bad toupee & wife killer" Shatner...
"Titanic"-Ship shoulda sunk in the first 3 minutes of the movie and saved me the pain of watching utter crap
Any comedic movie done released by "Dis-Knee" the past twenty years
Hawkeye
05-15-2004, 02:15 PM
The Cat and The Hat.
Pluto Nash- Eddie Murphy's only bad movie out of many great ones.
I really like most movies. I'm not as picky with movies as I am with music.

Anything with J-Ho, except "Selena" - the awesome music made up for HER presence, and Edward James Olmos saved the film. Besides, she wasn't creating a character, only imitating one...

The English Patient. I was not surprised to see Seinfeld do an entire episode on just how bad this movie was. I think it was one of those either love it or hate it things. I hated it. I thought it would be one of those movies I just love-you know some grand, sweeping epic like Out of Africa. Boy, was I wrong! I just wanted them all to die so I could be put out of my mystery!
My 2nd runner-up is Eyes Wide Shut. What a piece of crap!

Raw Fins? Anyone with an unpronouncable name doesn't make the cut on my list.
Brian!! I won't here another bad word against Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home!

The English Patient.
I watched this film in two parts and tho it was long I thought it was a great film. Bawled my eyes out at the end when he carried her out of that cave...

I won't make any friends by posting this (When do I? ;) ), but two that come to mind are Ghostbusters and The Wizard Of Oz. I like Dan Aykroyd's humor very rarely, and as for TWOO - I find the whole thing cloying. And believe it or not, it wasn't until I was a teenager that somebody pointed out to me that Dorothy was supposed to be only ten years old or so. Judy Garland looked so much older, I figured the character was just a moron. Also, when I was little I hated that the lion looked nothing like a lion, just like a guy made up to look like a lion.

I forgot about Scary Movie 2...I thought the first one was okay...I laughed at a couple of parts...the second...was a complete and utter piece of crap...it was a "well that's an hour and a half of my life I'll never see again moment"..I HATED it...but I also really dislike Chris Elliot..so anything with him in it I'm already biased against...
And as for Ralph Fiennes...he is SO sexy...we share the same birthday, me and Ralph, lol...I adore him...

LOVED that movie. But, the book is one of my all-time favorites; it's breathtaking. :p
Movies I DESPISE:
Natural Born Killers
Anything from M. Night Shyamalan
Punch-Drunk Love (or anything with Sandler)
The Idiots
Girl, Interrupted
Exit To Eden
Anything with Colin Farrell (shave the damned unibrow)
The Cat and the Hat
Anything with Eddie Murphy from The Golden Child on up
Good Will Hunting
House of 1000 Corpses
The Next Best Thing
Armageddon
Pumpkin
I'll most definitely think of more turkeys. :wavey:

Lux, have you seen Cronenberg's Spider? One of Ralph Fiennes' best performances IMO.
Fantastic movie, I just bought it yesterday. ;)
Fiennes was great, but Miranda Richardson stole the movie. She was unbelievable, I can't believe she wasn't nominated for an Oscar. I've been a huge fan of hers ever since The Crying Game and I've never seen such a great performance from her.

Nope. Nutty Professor was great, but the rest sucked. He's lost it and he won't ever get it back. He needs to either retire or get some of his credit back by doing a stand-up tour; he's great at that. I mean, just look at the movies he's made in recent years:
Nutty Professor 2
Holy Man
Vampire in Brooklyn
Daddy Day Care
The Haunted Mansion
Beverly Hills Cop 3
Boomerang
Metro
His career is in shambles!!!!

OK Holy Man, Metro, and Boomerang were bad. But I LOVED Daddy Day Care and BHC 3 and NP 2. I liked NP2 better tehn the 1st one.

Yes, Boomerang overall was a pretty bad movie, but I bought the DVD just for the scenes where Grace Jones plays the model/diva Strange.
"You're not gay! You just don't want to f*ck me!!! You're not gay! (Pointing) HE'S gay! And him! And he's gay too!"
Also, the scene showing her new commercial where she "gives birth" to her new perfume.
I actually got to meet her at a private club show in Houston, and she was an absolute, yet totally loveable nutcase. And the show itself was classic Grace - she pulled out a fatty onstage, leaned over the crowd for a light, and smoked most of it before singing "La Vie en Rose". Then, she stopped singing midway through the song, sat on her scenery, and mumbled over and over, "Oh, I'm toooo stoooooooooooooned..." as the music continued to play.

Batman and Robin

I thought you'd said Lost In America, which I just watched, not 10 minutes ago. Albert Brooks is one of the few American comedians who can make me laugh with his precise and consistent dry wit.
'To those that have the courage to drop out and find themselves, may God be with you and take you through Utah, avoiding Nevada completely.'
To anyone who's ever heard of the comic brilliance of Micallef: very Micallef wouldn't you say?

No, I haven't. Should I, or should I avoid them?
See them.
Broadcast News is the more critically acclaimed. Intelligent script, good performances, funny supporting role from Joan Cusack, & my favorite line: "Well, I certainly hope you die soon."
Defending Your Life has more Brooks touches and has Meryl Streep. More laughs, sillier. A good date flick.

Well, I can't stand "The Matrix". Don't see its appeal at all. Didn't care about the characters or what happens to them and I didn't care for Keanu's usual inept and unconvincing acting. I tried to give it a second chance once but halfway through the torture I thankfully fell asleep. And I hear the sequels are WORSE!

Ahhh! You met him? He's my favourite actor. He's the perfect combination of Stanislavski and British theatrical performance. Apart from that his voice is, as I said, mesmerising, and he so bloody sexy. He does seem rather introverted, although a good actor probably should be. I say all this having not seen Maid In Manhattan, and in fact refusing to do so.
Have you seen "Wuthering Heights"? He plays a good Heathcliff.

 That looks worse than Battlefield Earth. Sorry, if they wanted to make a Catwoman movie, they should've recruited Pfeiffer or dropped the project. And it's shocking to think that Berry won an Oscar.

Actually, I was more disapointed with the romance in that than anything. It like took over the whole movie! And Electra wasn't writen very well at all. You have to wonder.... do these directors even know what comic books are!?
Bullseye was awesome in Daredevil though. One of my favorite Marvel villians of all time. :D
