Please give me your opinions on the following demos. I've never heard them and in all these years I've yet to find copies of them in any form. What are these songs like? Rocky? Bouncy? Poppy? Ballads? Do they have bridges, or are the just verse chorus verse like a lot of other Stevie demos?
Joan of Arc
Love and War
Love You Enough
What Would You Do?
It's Not a Dream

Joan of Arc- Great demo with the exception of a line that goes "There are a few martyrs in our century, they take a limousine because everything eles is taken care of." Yeah Stevie, you're quite the martyr. There are two versions: an outtake from Tango and a live in studio outtake.
Love and War- It's also called Mixdown and it's from the OSOTM. Pretty good poppy rocker. Not a fave, but it's not bad.
Love You Enough- Ugh. Gawd awful. There's a master reel demo out there that's almost twenty minutes long and it's unbearable. Just her banging on the piano like a child and warbling some lyrics at odd times. The long version has her friends singing on it, too. Ugh.
What Would You Do?- I think this is All the Beautiful Worlds, only under a different name.
It's Not a Dream- Kinda boring. There's a crappy quality version on the "Rocking A Little" boot. It starts off as INAD, then morphs into Blue Lamp. Interesting, but dull.
Hope that helps! :xoxo:

Muchas gracias, mi amiga!!
According to SaraRhiannon, these are the lyrics for "What Would You Do?", which don't resemble anything like "All the Beautiful Worlds" <---- by the way, I think that demo stinks. :] I know there are those out there who like it, but I think it blows.
Here are the lyrics for "What Would You Do?"
Could it be the secrets that are a little less kept
Could it be the darkness, or a woman that you can't forget...
Could it be the answer, that is there and is waiting for you?
You're the only echo in the stillness of the dawn
Could it be the magic of waiting for the fall is gone
Isn't that the reason..
An excuse that you're willing to use
So what would you do?
If she comes calling back to you?
Could you face her now, could you fake a smile
Or would you tell her the truth?
What would you do... what would you do?
Suddenly the phone rings,
And in an instant there you know
That she's back to haunt you
But you never really let her go
The sun is fading, and the moon shines a light on the truth
Can you feel the mourning of her frozen kiss goodbye
That's the way she left you...
But you never knew the reason why
She broke the mirror, and her seven years are just about through...
So what would you do?
If she comes calling back to you
Could you face her now?
Would you just fake a smile
Or would you tell her the truth?
What would you do?
Would you do?
Would you do?
Just what would you do?
Could it be the secrets that are a little less kept
(A little less kept)
Could it be the darkness or the woman that you can't forget
Could it be the answer that is there and is waiting for you?
So what would you do, if she comes calling back
Could you face her now, or would you fake a smile,
Or would you tell her the truth...
What would you do?

I must have a different version, as mine doesn't have these lyrics, and I always thought that it was a dismal, repetitive dirge.

And, as I said in that thread, I don't agree with your interpretation. Not everyone has the same interpretation of Stevie's songs, Le Stew. ;) I think the line is one of the clunkiest she's ever written and it simply reeks.

There are two different versions; a live-in-studio version with Chirs and Lindsey speaking in it and a more polished outtake from Tango. :)

I have the studio version, and I have always thought the lyrics were stinkaroo. "Up against the wall, up against the wall" repeat, repeat, repeat.
The music, however, was kinda cool.

Yup, that "martyr" line really sinks the lyrics. But I still love the song as a whole. I love her voice on it. ;)

I realize that. Regardless, I'm still right. ;) :p

Eh, you think half the stuff she's written reeks. ;) :xoxo:
(By the way, thanks for posting those Gallup Poll results on the Chit-Chat Forum. Things may be looking up after all!) :D

Joan of Arc
Love and War
Love You Enough
What Would You Do?
It's Not a Dream
Joan of Arc: pretty cool song, and very Tango-sounding. Definitely worth a listen.
Love and War: It's okay. Nothing really special, but definitely not sucky. I think it probably falls under the "bouncy and poppy" category.
Love You Enough: the two long demos are pretty painful, but the shorter, more "polished" version is great, IMO. It's a slow sad one.
What Would You Do: this one actually isn't even circulating. A friend somehow got a hold of the lyrics & sent them to me, and he's someone whose word I really trust, so I posted them. I've never heard the actual song, & I don't know if it was even recorded. I probably should have been more clear on my website-- sorry about that!
It's Not a Dream: It's just okay. Very upbeat, but a little boring IMO.

Yeah, but you're also delusional. :] :xoxo:
And, no, not half of the stuff. Only the stuff on RAL and SA, plus some demos (which I can't really blame her for because they're works in progress).
And you're welcome, I was ecstatic when I found those numbers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are quite a few that aren't circulating that you have the lyrics to, right? Nighthawk stands out in my mind for soem reason, I like that one. :D

It was from the scene in 'Money Pit,' when Walter (Tom Hanks) was stuck in the upstairs floor. Anna (Shelley Long) came home, and he told her he'd been stuck there for so long that "a while ago I thought the Care Bears were coming to bring me food."

I love All The Beautiful Worlds.
