Step into the velvet of the morning...

If it's me that's driving you to this madness...(her delivery is awesome here)

And the summer became the fall, I was not ready for the winter...

Every night that goes between, I feel a little less

...and:
Illume says the candle that I burn

Do you always trust your first, initial feeling?

I love to waltz with a man in a dark linen suit

You think you hear demons
I think you are the demon

We see no change in sight
Watching her decline

"Well there you go again, you say, you want your freedom."

The way she sings that on Rumours is so velvety smooth, it just flows off the tongue. I also like the way the song begins as if we're dropped in the middle of a conversation that is already taking place.

SOTM and GDW opening lines are runners-up.

"In the shadow of the castle walls wherever those walls were"

"Until she herself became the deadliest poison"

"Papa says there are clothes to wash" (alright kidding there)

That reminds me, the other day when I was listening to "the cleaning lady version" of Sara with a friend, Stevie said that line, "I wanna be a star, I don't wanna be a cleaning lady," and my friend was like, "what the f*ck is she talking about?" And I had to go into the whole sordid story about B/N, Keith Olsen's house, etc...it made for a very long winded, detailed explanation and by the end of it my friend was totally glazed over---uninterested, and here I am with my, "ya see she was harkening back to those days of struggling during B/N"....yaddah, yaddah, yaddah. Next time I'm not even going to bother!

You think you hear demons, I think you are the demons

To be the last to leave, the last to be gone - Dont ask me why

So long ago, certain place, certain time
