What are the best and worst songs(and maybe musical moments) of the big three?
And also for those of us inclined, I'm curious as to how you think the best and worst of the three rank amongst eachother

lol... what's up with all these votes for the second time and when i see you again?
i don't know what i'd come up with...
but... i work in a bar and my boss threatened me last week after i played Bwana on our downloadable jukebox (yes, plays almost ANY song... do a little search, pay 50 cents to download it and 50 cents to play it) and said if i ever play another song like that i will be fired... and i was cut off from the jukebox for the night... hehehe but not before i got Gypsy queued.

I'm with Johnny on this, or at least in the way that I don't dislike anything that the Rumours line-up has ever done.
Best:
Lindsey - It's impossible to choose accurately, really. There's about 50 tracks of his that I would rate VERY closely to each other and the rest ain't that far either. But I will pick up "You And I Part One" for this yet again. Just to tease Gerald a little of course. And if it's "You And I Part Two" he put into his "worst" list then I will repeat my earlier statement in that it's the closest thing to repeating "I Know I'm Not Wrong" that Lindsey has done. In the childlike atmosphere, I mean. What do you think of that, O Dutchman? ;)
The contenders for "YAIPt1" would be "Tango In The Night", "Red Rover", "Street Of Dreams", "Loving Cup", "That's How We Do It In LA",...
Stevie - "Gypsy", I guess. But with "Sara", "Beautiful Child", "Beauty And The Beast", "Nightbird", "I Can't Wait", "Rock A Little" (which I've recently developed an affection for) etc. being really close to it. Not to mention the songs that you're all sick of hearing. :)
Chris - "Oh Daddy". Followed by "Songbird", "All Over Again", "Sooner Or Later", "Wish You Were Here" (how dare you Joe ;)), "Little Lies", "I'd Rather Go Blind", "Spare Me A Little", "Brown Eyes", "Never Make Me Cry"...
Worst:
Lindsey - "Oh Diane", "Peacekeeper" and "Steal Your Heart Away". They're a bit too bland for me sometimes but I still likes 'em. And I love most of the LB ones that people usually choose as their least favourites. I'll take "Family Man", The Mirage songs, "Play In The Rain" and "I Must Go" over anything too self-important and serious any day.
Stevie - Within FM only the Tango songs (surprise!), "The Second Time" and "Silver Girl" and I still like them. Within her solo career only "Gate And Garden", "Imperial Hotel", "Desert Angel", "Rose Garden" and "Just Like A Woman" (none of which I like but do not hate that much either) qualify. (Surprised again?! ;))I'm not going to discuss some of the demos anyway; we're not supposed to be hearing those. ;)
Chris - "Show Me A Smile", "Warm Ways", "Everywhere" and "Do You Know". And a couple of tracks from her 1984 solo album because it sounds too uniform to me. The rest is fine with me. :)

Oh Gaius, you finnish teaser. I agree on the childish-scale. But musically it is just boring. Or better put: it's b*lls-less slick drizzle. I meant part two. BUT I must say that I really like to change the vote because it is one of the best b*ll-less slick drizzle songs I know. Compared to Make me A Mask ( I forgot about that one! - suppression  ) it is a masterpiece. So not to please Fins, or give in on a teaser, I'm gonna edit my worst lindsey vote now.

Damnit, now you picked an even better one!
Seriously, I love that one and I think it's close to the isolationism of "That's All For Everyone" in a way. You still wanna go on with this or shall I compare his entire work to Tusk songs? ;) Wait a minute, that's a potential chance to criticize LB for others, I must cover it up. :o
And you probably know he has a tune called "Suppression", right? Written in the Rumours-era and the lyrics were sold at the It's Only Rock'n'Roll auction last year.

 a better one? how do you think it's possible for me to keep my respect for you? ;) Seems like you are more appealed by the topics he writes about and their basic meaning than the musical and melodic choices he made. I adore almost all of his songs, not only the Tusksongs. I never knew he had a song called Suppression! Sounds interesting. Is there any mp3 floating around? Must be because he normally doesn't have a lyric first..... There's another title that pops up every now and then that I've never heard..forgot the title, though... (*)i think it is from the after OOTC-period but not included in the GOS-batch.
And if you want to compare anything with "that's all for everyone", than save your time, Gaius, that's his " God Only Knows " vocally and melodicly. You can write such a thing once in your life. Although I think he could be capable of doing it again if he and Stevie stretch out and start a Macalbum from startpoint zero, building up melody with Stevie's input next to his.
Thinking (dreaming) of that, he really got me   when Stevie said to him in the latest doc, while recording the backup vocals for "I am waiting", "maybe i can figure out something cool for the Oh Yeahs", he responded-obviously proud of his own ohyeahs and I agree-: you don't have to sing the Oh Yeahs! Well how can you reject such an offer! I would have thought: Let her figure something out and put that only on the last Oh Yeah of the song. I am sure she would have done something real good.
Sorry. I am starting a whole new topic here....
gerald
(*)edit: I forgot, but searched and found the title: On The Wrong Side. Never heard it. If anybody happens to have that one:
I'll be very thankful!

I only listed it because it's the only one of his songs that I've heard and didn't absolutely adore. Some of LB's songs that get pretty beaten up around here (Family Man, Caroline, Not That Funny, Come) are all songs that I absolutely love. I don't hate Oh Diane, it's just the only one I could think of that I could perhaps do without.
