I'm not a collector. I'm talking about your typical everday coins.

If they introduce a new coin, what person/animal/symbol would you put on it?

Of course, on the Arizona coin, Stevie standing in front of a cactus doing her GDW black-widow fingers  For New Jersey there should have been some guy giving the finger

I love cute animals so I would be in favor of coins with cats on them =^..^= as well as other critters.

I have a little display in my room called 'The World's Most Useless Currency' exhibit.
Australian 5 cents... Japanese 1 yen (<-- 1 yen! It's ridiculous!).... and some washer I found which is basically a small metal circle with a hole in it, which I thought would make an amusing addition to the display. ;)

Seriously, does anybody bother to pick up the smallest denomination if it falls. I often do, but because of a 'whoops, musn't litter' mentality.

i don't like all the cheesy state-specific imagery on the new quarters. i actually preferred the federal eagle motif which had been in use for a long time.

i think they could have spent our $$ on better things than designing 50 new coins, and then cutting 50 new sets of dies to strike them. and if a redesign was necessary, i think they should have "gone retro" and reintroduced some of the designs from the 19th century. (i'm not a coin collector, i just like those designs better).

Fine with me as long as the dog coins are worth more. :sorry:

I know what you mean. And I'm convinced that America will convert to the metric system before we get rid of pennies. Talk talk talk. :(

I don't know. The way society is going, they'd probably turn the blindfolded justice lady into something kinky. ;)

Sorry, in my book the little critters would be worth more than the kitties. :wavey:
