Vancouver, BC?

I'm considering a summer trip there. (Yes, I already hear it's expensive. Tell me something else.) :wavey:

No, but I hear it's incredibly beautiful...the Canadian board of tourism constantly sends me packets about Vancouver and Toronto. From what I recall, there was a decline in Canadian tourism after the whole SARS incident so perhaps you'll be able to find some trip deals. If you go, please take a skyline picture or two and post

Yes! Well I flew into Vancouver on route to Kamloops which is right in the Rockies. It is incredibly beautiful and I hope to go there again sometime

A friend of mine spent a semester at UBC in Vancouver last year. He loved it!

It's in Canada.

Wise ass.

Canada is gorgeous because its citizens actually care about how their country looks. There's no litter anywhere; it's practically spotless. But the cab drivers are nucking futs. Don't get in one unless you're wearing a diaper.

That's what I hear about Canda, there are no billboards every frickin' half mile and it's clean there.

Thanks for the cab tip.

Actually, my parents and I were planning a trip (well, it was MY trip really) to go to Vancouver a few years ago, then the divorce came. :( My dad and I are still planning a trip up there in a few more years. Need to save some cashola first.

Sounds like a fabulous vacation idea! I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun taking in the gorgeous scenery while avoiding the oppressive Texas summer that is awaiting us.

I read and hear everywhere that it's an attractive city.

What did he study? I'm considering a program there in the future.

I won't ask. You must have told the dry cleaner quite the interesting story.

I had been considering going back to Toronto and ever since then, they've been sending me e-mails and packages in the mail with information. I haven't been there in about 5 years and I really love it up there...I love the people and the atmosphere. I've never been to Vancouver but it's certainly on my list. And, I'd absolutely LOVE to take one of those cruises from Vancouver to Alaska...I think that would be absolutely gorgeous.

I hope it doesn't take me that long. The trip is looking less likely right now.

I love the heat. The only thing I hate about the weather here is the rain.

I trust you've never been to New York City  Not only are the crazy and foreign but they like to but into your conversation as well (wink wink Jason)

I didn't know that Jason is a cabbie, but thanks for confirming our suspicions.

I still have my house there. Vancouver is a great place to live. Although Americans can be a little thrown off by the "vibe". Downtown is full of hookers, skate-rats, and leftover bohemians from the Grateful Dead/Phish/wanna-be 60's era.

It definitely is a very clean city. Canada is a great country to live in. If you like the beautiful outdoors, rain, and nautical things (kayaking, boating) there is a lot to do.

Can you give me a run-down on the different areas of the city? I've read about some of them, but that's not the same as hearing about them from a resident.
