excuse me for opening this (now the 3rd one concerning it) new thread about Agnetha's new album, but i think it deserves it.
i LOOOOVE it! only the 4th store i went to had a copy, the first 3 ran out! she must be selling big time here! no wonder, If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind is on the radio constantly (btw- try the remixes, they're great).
till now, her solo offerings were utterly crappy (aka as "the buckingham syndrome") but this one's a different story. i think her decision to make a covers album was a bright one, it's been ages since she recorded so beautifully written songs. it's quite old fashioned and i can't say it's innovative in any way. in fact, it's far from being a masterpiece in many ways, but hey, that's her essence, she's not a musician, but she IS a superb interpreter and she still sounds and looks excellent. yes. Agnetha is the G spot of senimentality.

I can't wait for the album, on Monday it will finally be released in Germany! I've resisted to listen to any snippets available on the net (except for the preview of this first single), because this time around I really don't want to spoil anything (I learned my lesson after Paul McCartney's Driving Rain and Say You Will  ). But at least I finally received my import single CD's of "If I Ever Thought You'd Change your Mind". This song is so awesome!! And I agree, the remixes are great as well.

Have you seen the video, BTW? (on www.agnetha.se)

In these annoying times of "over the top" vocal performances (With how many different notes can you stretch a single syllable and distort a melody? ) it's great to see someone finally showing again that sometimes less IS more indeed. :)

I saw an article about ABB reunited (I mean ABBA minus Agnetha) for the anniversary of the Mamma Mia. Sad she didn't want or couldn't meet them, thoguh the article suggested that relationship of Agnetha with ex-husband is still bad.

How I wish an ABBA reunion, at least for one show.

According Amazon this is the song list

1. My Colouring Book
2. When You Walk In The Room
3. If I Thought Youd Ever Change Your
4. Fool Am I
5. End Of The World
6. Fly Me To The Moon
7. I Can't Reach Your Heart
8. Love Me With All Your Heart
9. Past, Present & Future
10. Remember Me
11. Sealed With A Kiss
12. Sometimes When Im Dreaming
13. What Now My Love

Now that I know it's a covers album, is "End of the world" the same old song KAren Carpenter also sings? (the one that appeared in her tv film biography)

Israel Surrenders To ABBA Veteran

The 53 year old former ABBA vocalist Agnetha Faltskog scores a surprising no.1 this week, as her comeback single If I Thought You'd Ever Change Your Mind shoots to the top of the int'l singles chart this week.
the song, taken from My Colouring Book, her first album in 17 years, marks a triumphant yet hesitant return for the reclusive blond diva, who mysteriously cancelled a planned promotional tour supporting the release. Agnetha's last encounter with that top spot was back in 1981 when ABBA's One Of Us became their last no.1 hit, and her first time as a solo artist.
