I was wondering how far from Houston the Woodlands show is? I'm considering taking a bus to Houston and I'm not really sure how to get to Spring, Texas from there. Any ideas? There is no bus depot in Spring, I'm sure, right? Anyone here going to that show from the Metroplex?

Also, if you've been to this place, where is the best vantage point for a shortie like myself? LOL

Christy,

The Woodlands (it's its own city now I believe) is basically a suburb of Houston. In fact, I still consider it part of Houston. It's on the VERY north side. I'm from the southeast Houston area but am going to school in Dallas, so your drive down there should be about the same as mine.

Just take I-45 S for like 3 1/2 - 4 hours and you'll run right into the turnoff for the Woodlands (the arena itself; I still can't make myself call it the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion). You'll go through Huntsville and then Conroe. Once you get to Conroe, you've got about 20 more minutes south to go. As far as you asking how far The Woodlands is from Houston, if you're talking downtown Houston, it's about 30 minutes north up I-45 from there. But, like I said, I always think of The Woodlands as being just an extreme part of Houston.

Basically, if you find your way from "Funkytown" onto I-45 S and just take it down forever, you'll be there. Once you get within a few miles, there should be signs all over the place telling you how to get to the pavilion. Once you do get to the pavilion, if you drive yourself, get ready for the walk from Hell from the parking lot; it's a pain!

As far as what's best for your vantage point, that's always a concern for us too if my sister goes since she's barely over 5'. If you want an actual seat, I'd say definitely go with the Covered Reserved section (which there are no more tickets for, by the way). I saw Stevie during Enchanted from Uncovered Reserved and had to watch through binoculars the whole time, so that wasn't that fun. I sat toward the back of Covered Reserve for Roger Waters in 2000 and it was okay, but aside from the movies and light show that I could see easily, I still pretty much had to use binoculars. I saw Stevie during TISL from about the 20th or so row and that was pretty good. I don't think I needed binoculars, and most people in that area weren't standing. Basically, if you want an actual seat, I would definitely avoid the double digit rows (eg, AA, BB) since they're so far back. I don't know. That's just what I think of it. Maybe someone else has a different opinion.

The *best* was Fleetwood Mac/Pat Benetar/REO Speedwagon. We had 3rd row pit seats. Now that was great. That was the good old days when you actually called on the phone to get tickets and you didn't have to call the second they went on sale. I think they were on sale at least a couple of weeks before we got them.

Does that help any? Let me know if you need anything else and I'll try my best to help you!

Brad

Well, I don't drive, so I have to take the bus. LOL Yeah, I'm almost 28 and no license yet, what can I say, I'm lazy. That's why I need info on how to get from Houston to the Woodlands that won't cost me my life savings.

If there are some type of caravans going to the show, I'd love to be on one. LOL!!! Anyone for a party bus?:woohoo:

Thanks for the info!! I'm most likely going through a broker for the Dallas and Houston shows.

Hey Christy....

I am going to the Hartford show and my friend in Mass is taking me to the Mansfield show as I don't drive either and I am 32! I can say it has been something that I keep putting off (Lazy is a good term for it but also it is a big financial burden that I can't see myself getting into at the moment) so I just thought it was neat to read that there is someone else on the Ledge who doesn't drive. Good Luck getting to your shows and Enjoy!!

YAY!! I don't feel so all alone in my non-drive-ness. I did actually drive (shhh) today. We went to my grandmother's house and I drove part of the way up. My dad and I were talking today about my getting my license before the show, renting a car and going down there. I just don't know what to do. I've put it off for SO long and it really is getting to be necessary.

What is considered front row? How many rows are in the Pit Reserve?
