(Sorry if this has been posted recently; I haven't located the search field in the updated forum. )
I do not.
I know Deanna does.
I'm guessing many posters do.
And I only love them when they're playing. ;)

What? Wherever did you get that idea
;)
Yeah...I play percussion...but haven't in a long while...so I pretty much only play drums (set) now...and that is also a rarity...BUT I am playing with a local band in the next couple of weeks (before I leave for D.C.)
I kind of play piano as well...but I'm not very good at it :)
I tried to teach myself guitar, but got frustrated and decided to stick with what I know...

I like the cello. The Yom HaShoah services I've attended in Austin & Houstin the last few years typically begin with a cello player performing the theme to Schindler's List. Beautiful sound.

I was known in band for my superb tambourine playing skills! I actually really was known for that though because I was in the auxiliary percussion/xylophone section, and my teacher always wanted me to play the tambourine for a song during half-time shows because of how much I got into the music. But, in a more serious matter, I can also play the xylophone and can plunk out some things still on the piano. I took piano lessons for six years and quit...the worst mistake I ever made.

Did you do the Gold and Braid high kicks with the tambourine?
I wish I could play the piano. It's my favorite, along with the cello.

I've never taken piano lessons but if I listen long enough and concentrate, depending on the song (nothing technical and intricate), there's a good chance I'll able to play it back.

All your Fabulous Baker Boys/Michelle Pfeiffer on the piano impressions have paid off. :D
BTW, I got your PM but am not seeing an option to reply, only to forward. Any clue?

That's right....coordinator by day....lounge singer by night
Hmm....i would think there should be an option to reply. If not, I suppose it will work to just send a new message instead of hitting reply? I'm not sure. This is all still strange with an element of familiarity...if that makes any sense

I can play guitar, bass, drums & keyboard/piano (I'm not a great kb/piano player whatsoever).
Kinda strange but noone else in my family is musically gifted (But my 11 yr.old niece Kendra will soon be starting piano lessons...The brat has the longest fingers I have ever seen, Bad enough she looks identical to me, But to have God curse her with those big ol' flapjack hands is another thing!!!)

Well, not really. I have a pretty good ear for music, but I can't play an instrument for the life of me. I can pick certain songs out on the keyboard (I can play U2's October, the piano version of SOTM, etc), but I can't play any actual songs. I can sing, but that's not exactly an instrument... lol. I did figure out how to play Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit on a toy guitar, though .

Jake - scary that you should mention this.
I play piano by ear but yesterday at my folk's place for Easter, my dad (who can play guitar well) was trying to figure out NGBA. I got inspired and had a go, and soon found myself playing something remotely similar to The Chain. When I got home today I recorded it! Not bad for second day on guitar, but be prepared for a giggle, especially when I make the mistake of trying to sing on it, despite having to sing so softly in order for neighbouring apartments not to hear. (I started singing and I thought I heard the people upstairs packing their things.)

I played the trumpet in High School. I was very good (first chair). I also play the piano a tiny bit, which is ashame because I have a beautiful one (Steinway M crica 1933 or so - mahogany). I love it, but do not do it justice with my plucking on the keys.

Although I do play a Turner Model 1 these days which is the most awesome guitar on the planet IMO...

Now I'm only concentrating on further continuing my piano studies.. but I continue to play my guitar, bass, and flute on the side.
I play a few other wind instruments, but I'm not currently studying those.

Otherwise, I play a mean tambourine , if you can call your voice an instrument--I sing, and I used to could play a few songs on the piano.

Sorry about that. :sorry: It is "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. :D I selected "For What It's Worth," because it was the easiest song I could come up with to play. I'm currently working on "Gold Dust Woman." I tried to play it first, but it was too hard to start out with.

I play piano, guitar and a mean tambourine. I was taught to read music when I was 12 (classical piano). In high school, I started playing guitar. Like Stevie, my parents bought me one for my 16th birthday. But not a Goya, an Applause. It's an Ovation knock-off.
My tambourine is a Remo - crescent shaped, glow in the dark. Just like Stevie's. ;-)
We had a baby grand piano in the house when I grew up. But after we moved to Texas, my aunt in Philadelphia got it. She told me I could have it back, but I'm sure the shipping costs are outrageous. So, instead, I have a vintage keyboard. A Rhodes 78. It's sweet!
I can also play be ear pretty well...I have all the Stevie/Mac songbooks, I just don't have the time and/or patience to spend hours at the keyboard like I used to. But I like to bang out Rhiannon like Stevie on the piano demo version. And I taught myself how to play Kind of Woman, before I got the song book. I love the piano in that...

Do you play an instrument?
Started playing piano at age 7 (well, started taking official LESSONS at age 7...my cousin Paul taught me how to play "Chopsticks" & "Heart & Soul" when I was 5)
Picked up a guitar at age 11.
Started playing both professionally at age 16. (1972...you do the math)

I play a bit of keyboards. Operative word(s): A bit. I'm not that good, admittedly, but I can play a few FM songs. I'm playing them wrong, probably, but it sounds right to me. And it's not like I'm ever going to perform them anywhere. As of right now, my left hand doesn't like doing anything. I'm trying to get myself to the point where I can actually *use* both hands while playing.
I play a bit of the bass. Again, not too well.
I really play just for my own amusement. :)

I play piano, & I just recently started learning bass. I'm excited about learning bass because I've always felt psychically connected to the bass line in a pop song.
The interesting thing about my piano playing is that I realize that what I'm doing much of the time -- almost subconsciously -- is reproducing a finger-picked guitar. I actually play finger-pick patterns on the keyboard. I would imagine this comes from so many years of listening to Buckingham's guitar patterns. It must have sunk in in a big way. Some of my bandmates haven't been exactly crazy about my unusual style, but others have really dug it. When I play "The Chain" or "Bleed to Love Her" or "Never Going Back Again," I actually finger-pick the piano -- weird, maybe, but I rather like the effect. I have a very nonchordal style, although I still can & do play nice chords when the occasion or the mood suits. The other big influence on my playing is, obviously, Ms. McVie. In a way, I wish it had been some monster like Horace Silver or Monk -- I needed more jazz to sink in along the way.
I still want to learn drums. I think I'd have excellent rhythm.

I play the violin. Or at least I did for seven years, but when I went to college, I left it behind. Now I only play it when I go home for Christmas (my sister plays cello and she and I do Christmas songs for the amusement of my family - no one else! lol). Not sure that even counts!

I've been playing the piano for about 7 years now. I don't have any FM sheet music so I usually manage playing their tunes by ear.
Shamus :)
I've had lessons for playing clarinet and recorder when I was a child, but wasn't too succesful at it. Not that I'm not musical, but I just didn't have the discipline. I could learn the easy bits in no time, but when it got to that point where you have to practice stupid simple melodies, I'd lose interest.
I can play keyboard a little bit, but my favorite instrument is the guitar. Started playing at fifteen, had lessons for three years, good way to get started. Now I just play whatever I hear and like. Sometimes sheetmusic, but I prefer to learn it by ear.
I have an electric guitar... really nice Ibanez les paul clone, but it's just not my thing, too loud. I like my acoustic better :-)

I can play guitar/bass either left handed & right handed thanks to an accident back in 1986 (Fractured right wrist) when I first started to play guitar, So instead of dumping my guitar I learned to play left handed...
When I broke my right hand in July 2001, I was playing bass (My original choice of instrument) and once again just switched over to playing "southpaw"...
