I am sure we discussed this awhile back, BUT, I hauled out my TITN tape (yes cassette  ) and thought it contained two of his most brilliant end of song solos a la GYOW. I think his playing at the end of TITN (the song) and "Isn't is Midnight" are just brilliant. So, I thought I'd start a thead about it.
Please name some of your fav. end of song solos by LB.
Mine are the two above, Gypsy, Murrow, and Bleed to Love her (SYW version).

"I'm So Afraid", "Tango In The Night" & "Murrow" all have similar sounding solos at the end, but, I still like 'em.
"Isn't It Midnight"
"Sisters Of The Moon"
"Book Of Love" & "Empire State" both have solos at the fade that could've been extended some more. When Mirage first was released, I was looking forward to hearing both of those songs live, so I could hear those solos stretched out, but alas, it was not to be.
"Eyes Of The World"
"Family Man"

A man after my own heart. :xoxo: LOL
I love those two solos also!! Isn't It Midnight is just greatness and the Tango solo tears a hole in the atmosphere!
I love every single one ya'll mentioned so far.
I love the guitar solo in NGBA...and my dad loves it too. Don't forget the acoustic in Landslide. Just sweet!

Buckingham's GYPSY finale does dazzle :), but I also like Buck's jolt of electricity exiting HOLD ME....... and his suave coda on BLEED TO LOVE HER from SAY YOU WILL - which he picks so gently..... :xoxo:

Though it doesn't qualify as a true solo, the ending of Not that Funny is tops. The cacophony of sounds Lindsey produces with the various guitar tracks is delicious.
Go Your Own Way and Countdown are also among my favorites, not to mention the crazy ending to Wrong.

Definitely, "I'm So Afraid," "Go Your Own Way," "Come," "The Chain," and "Big Love." I'll have to agree with AgainLindsey, all of his solo guitar work is superb!

I agree - even though the song is not my fav. Are those songs all one guitar or are they layered?

I agree, despite of the fact that that song is one of my faves.
I think they're layered in a non-conformist  way. Could he have played with a 4 or 8 track: layered them, and put them back on one track of another 4 or 8 or 24 or 48 or quazillion track whatever was put in that studio D of the Village recorder? I can imagine that after hearing the remastered version.

Gosh, it’s hard to cite the best of Lindsey Buckingham’s fabulous solo stuff…….
Buckingham is a great picker with a fertile imagination! He uses his magic formula on STREET OF DREAMS! His courageous melodic phrasing leaves indelible marks in our souls. It offers all the thrills of an electric performance, as he’s deft and assured in his fingerwork. With his unsurpassed level of dexterity, Buckingham gives a majestic performance!
COUNTDOWN is captivating! His Rick Turner finale is worthy to stand alone. It’s otherworldly and utterly electrifying – a soundscape of celestial sounds! Orgy of self-indulgence? Definitely.
For both Buckingham AND me! :)

SHN (live)
Gypsy (live)
ISA (live)

I haven't replied to this because I love so many of them, that listing them all would be ridiculous. I guess if I were forced at gunpoint to pick five, it would be ISA live then, in no particular order, The Chain, Gypsy, Rhannon live in the olden days, and Come... or SOTM... or SHN... or GYOW.... or RRTG.... or Countdown.... or even the rockin' simplicity of the end of Blue Letter live...
IMPOSSIBLE! Has he ever done a BAD one? I hate to sound like a gushy fan incapable of criticizing her favorite, but he really is incomparable on such things!

I agree! In many ways a lot of them are like part of this one big solo.
But I think that This Is the Time and Murrow are a little bit different again. Maybe Murrow won't be as different out of the studio. You tell me Nancy! </goes back to dreaming of Lindsey's soundstage>

i feel the fever in "slow dancing!" then at the ending tempo change, it's acoustic sweep-me-off-my-feet romantic! lindsey's bass is also a boon!
